Nice work, but those heads are definitely upside down. I almost did the same thing myself. The pins on the bottom of the valve covers fit into those holes in the heads. The instructions are wrong as well. If you turn the heads over, bottom side up, everything fits perfectly. No doubt that's why you had problems fitting the engine in. Just wanted to let everyone know because it is such an awesome kit. Awesome work though, great channel

Thank you very much for watching and following along. The way I put the heads on is the correct orientation for the intake and exhaust. The exhaust side of the heads is the flat side, and the intake side has the ridges. If you put the intake manifold along side the head it will line up perfectly. No mater how the pins line up the directions are correct and match up to the real engine. I was so tempted to flip that head over, but I spent a few hours on line to verify the directions were right. I have two real good pictures that I wish I could post here to show the way the heads are. But the way I have the heads orientated on the block is correct. I jacked up some valve covers a while ago because the directions on the Chevelle showed them going on correct in that side of the build, but the next picture showed them inverted and I looked at that picture. It took me an hour to pop them off so I could get it right. So now I have pictures of the real engines on my computer so I can verify proper orientations.

Was not going to reply again because it's really a mute point now except for others who may build this kit, but the heads need to be installed with the hollow open end facing up, when u do that the valve covers snap right on and there are zero gaps, you can still install Them with the intake side toward the runners and with the header locating holes toward the headers, that's why you had to modify the intake and the manifold to get it together, and also why you had trouble fitting the engine into the frame, if you had another kit and tried it that way it would be a light bulb moment. The heads are also shown incorrectly in the instructions.grab another kit and try it, maybe build a fendered version then? No disrespect intended, you build a better looking model than I do and I love youy videos
      So

I am so glad you replied again. I read both of your comments again, then went down and took a good look at the kit I have in my stash, and JUST LIKE YOU SAID, the light went on and I saw what you were talking about. I was so worried about having them line up with the intakes that I didn't see that if I just flipped them around that way they would still be lined up with the intakes. What a bonehead I am. LOL See, that's why it pays to be persistent, you stood your ground and made sure I understood what you were talking about and now I'm pinning this to the top of the thread so EVERYONE knows that both the directions and I were wrong. Now I have to go into the kitchen for some Katsup. Because if I'm going to eat my hat I might as well put some on it. LOL.. Thanks for showing me what you were talking about, because like I said, I'm going to be doing another one of these without the fenders, and I sure am going to do it with the Chrysler engine. Have a good one, and thanks again.

Greetings. I'm a returnee to the model world after a 50+ year hiatus and your videos are my "go to" on several occasions when I've hit that "Is it just me" moment on any given build. Outstanding work my friend. This '32 coupe from Revell is so ill-fitting at times that I've had to retrieve it from my wastebasket twice. After watching this video, I'm dissolving paint (again), scraping CA boogers (again) and giving it one more go before it ends up in my parts graveyard. Shame on you Revell and cheers to you GrandpaMark. :)

Thank you so much for the kind words. If you get into a bind jump over to our Facebook group and put questions out to the group. There's a ton of great people that are more than willing to give a hand. I came back to modeling after just over 30 years, so I totally understand. Just don't get too frustrated. I have a pinto kit that got deep sixed because it kicked my behind. I keep telling myself that I will come back to it some day, but I never have. That 32 coupe gave me a lot of trouble too. It's a challenge for sure. Also, and then I'll let you go, I have a lot of kits on the shelf that aren't the best, but when they are all lined up you can see my progress back into the hobby. From "Thais should be pitched" to "That's not too bad" It's just like anything, it takes time to teach your fingers how to do what you want them to do. LOL My fingers were slow learners too. LOL
