Brilliant & Simple. Was there a reason you didn't upgrade the high-beam at the same time? Figure since you went to the trouble of pulling the unit out and it's sitting right there... Thanks for the informative no-nonsense (too many of those) video.
Hi Mike thanks for your comment. The reason I didn't do the high beam at the same time was that I was too tight to buy two sets of bulbs! I wanted to see how it worked on the low beam first. Subsequently I upgraded the high beam but the results are disappointing, the beam pattern is all over the place, with no focus on projecting the light further down the road
I enjoyed the video, I have a 981 and find lights to be poor so I would expect there to be some bulb kits available for mine ? Slightly different topic, I noticed your space saver spare wheel, I am never happy on long distance drives with just the foam stuff my car has, do you know if these spare wheels are interchangeable or just for your year model ? Thanks
Hi, thanks for your comment. The space saver came with the car and I'm pretty sure they are interchangeable between model years. I suppose rim diameter is the key issue. As for the bulbs, I looked to see what direct replacement LEDs options were for for the halogen one. I think in my case that was H4
The answer is yes. I have xenons with an led bulb in the high beam (which has gone bad). I can't get that retainer clip off, so stuck 😢@@RepairandRideout
A good mod, the OEM headlight shell is pretty but prone to temperature and UV damage.

Can you link us to these bulbs?
My 996 has Xenon HID bulbs. Can I still do this same procedure if I wish or need to change to LED?
Hi Jay, thanks for your comment. I'm sorry but I don't know the answer to you question

What is the name of the smaller 5w bulb? Thanks
The ones I brought are T10 W5w LED from Amazon, the manufacturer or brand name is "SageSunny"
😂bulb holder goes in first, then just push in and twist the bulb
That doesn't fix the "running egg syndrome" The inner Fresnel lens suffer
That's true. I have to embrace the eggs
