    You sir are awesome, was about to buy another watch strap because the one I bought, the buckle didn’t work properly. Just switched them out, used the original on my Lorus band and works perfect. Thanks again!

    Great Video! I just don't recommend that you use a knife, as you may cut a piece off of your strap (as I did🙈😂).

      I’ve done it a thousand times and never cut a strap :) … the key is to use a thin blade that you can easily slip between the metal & leather … and pry side to side, not pushing or pulling the blade :)

    Thank you very much for the vid and explanation. It worked! Just an observation: the spring inside my buckle is stucked or is fixed, because it doesn't move a thing when I push it down. Thanks again!

      Sometimes the spring function fails and the spring bars don’t compress & expand normally … Most spring bars are cheaply made … only a few are solid and very reliable …

      @@vintagewatchstreet45 thanks, yes, the originals still work perfectly, solid steel.

    Swapping a bar spring buckle on a leather strap is a cinch. I've a Casio resin strap w. plastic buckle held with a solid pin. A bar spring tool seems hapless here-advice wanted.

      I’d really have to see a photo to give proper advice :)

      I've thought of a means that might work to release the pin ends from the buckle. In the meantime I'll fwd a pic to your email.

      I have the same type of resin strap, is a Casio G Shock Dw 6900, just had to pull out a little bit to bend the plastic buckle and it did the trick. It worked fine for me. Hope it works for you, too.

      A rigid plastic buckle hasn't much give. I tested this by spreading it with an old pair of scissors. I will bear down on the pin with leverage on the other side.

    I wonder why you advised to get a 16mm buckle for a 18mm strap. One would think that would not fit. ?

    • @vintagewatchstreet45
      @vintagewatchstreet45  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      An 18mm strap refers to the lug width the strap fits on. Most straps with 18mm ends have a 16mm buckle. Most straps taper 2mm… you’ll see a lot of straps for 20mm watches that have 18mm buckles. And many 16mm straps taper to 14mm buckles. Most straps taper, some don’t.

    anyone else just find this impossible even with the video the buckle keeps falling off the first end of the spring bar before i can even use my tweezers on the other end

    • @vintagewatchstreet45
      @vintagewatchstreet45  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’ll want to insert it in one hole first. Try laying the buckle down on its side instead holding it in the air. Also try putting the other end of the pin in first as well.
