This crystal sometimes needs a removal tool to get off, other times it can pry up easily. It depends on the condition. It usually fits without a press, but may require a gentle press sometimes. It has a tension ring (aka crystal ring) inside that will get snug once the bezel is pressed down. Of course as they age, we may elect to use adhesive to help secure and waterproof the crystal during servicing or replacements as they are not as snug as original issue.

The star is actually called a “Date Corrector” …. Not many people know this … and I did not have to replace this one, as it is in good condition!

No, never …. Only a few LM ever had gold capped cases. The 5606-7000 was made with a gold cap sometimes! Just a few! And not many in good condition are left.
