The Most Important Thing In The World (Memento Mori) as a song helped me accept death and what might or mightn't come after. This MAP helped me embrace my inevitable death as well as the chance of becoming a musically inclined skeleton in an avant garde jazz band.

Honestly, my interpretation of the song is about being a slap in the face like “hey guess what, you’ll die one day and you won’t make an impact on the universe”
Which is kinda like, ouch, douche move. But in a way, it’s a good thing.
Because when people grow up they fear that they won’t have a purpose in life nor would they make an impact on anything or anyone. A lot of people believe they should do something successful, something big, or being wrote down in history so they can be remembered.
But that’s super stressful on a person if they don’t achieve this. But in reality, our actions won’t make an impact on anything nor will it change the universe in any given way.
The only reason we can be remembered or make an impact is because humans choose to. Life doesn’t decide if we are remembered or make an impact, humans decide if that matters to them, no one else, not animals, nature, or the universe.
So why does it matter if our lives didn’t do anything spectacular or big? What matters the most is that we enjoyed it doing what we want. What matters is that we experienced life.
Even if our impacts don’t do anything to the universe that just gives us the freedom of doing what we want because we don’t have to care about if we made an impact, because that’s literally impossible to do because the universe can’t and won’t change.
If you wanna become a librarian, do it. Be a voice actor? Go ahead. Wanna be someone who wants to try and make an impact on the universe? Try it. What matters most is that you enjoyed doing what you wanted. That you enjoyed your life rather than focusing on making an impact.
Also the animation was superb and I. Really enjoyed the many styles within the song.

The most interesting thing about this music video, is that despite it saying that it's for 16+, I think it's perfect for younger people who haven't discovered the concept of death. In my eyes, kids should be aware of what death is, at most, by the age of 9 so that it dosen't suprise them as much when someone they care about kicks the bucket, something that will already be stressful.
If you try to explain what death is to a kid, that might not listen, remember, or pay full attention to what your saying. With an animated music video with constantly changing art styles and decently entertaining music, however, they might pay more attention. How it explains death is also simple enough for a child to understand. Plus, as an added bonus, they might learn the word eulogy, a word that a lot of younger folks don't know.

Because you will die and theres nothing after, it means that just the fact you are alive rn is a one in infinity miracle wonder.
If there was proof that after comes heaven, reincarnation, heck, then your entire life is just a tiny fleck of dust in the scheme of forever, which I feel robs it of its meaning.

It's not because i believe in any form of afterlife, quite the opposite in fact! If when i die i end up somewhere like heaven or hell i'm going to be very cross, because nonexistence is what i'm looking forward too!
For it to just keep going on... I would get very tired i think..
I'm not sure how to explain it, it just doesn't frighten me like it seems to do to everyone else. It sounds peaceful not to exist, especially after doing something as tiring as living, it will be quite nice to take a good long rest.
The way i see it, my molecules aren't truly mine, i'm just borrowing them for the moment, so when i die, those molecules will find their ways into the plants and animals and rocks, and one day, maybe into another human. The condition for being alive, is that you one day have to stop being alive, its just nature, but modern humans have just over thought about it.
Like how a woman going into labor may think they will need medicine to stop the pain because it will be too much for them. Or that they won't know what to do after the baby is born, that they wont know how to take care of it. But they always know what to do, because it's natural.
It's what you're made for, you know how to die just as a woman knows how to give birth, or a dog knows how to bark. If you think too hard about things that dont matter you can trick yourself into being anxious about them! That's all it is, anxiety!

I just realized that I've got an art assignment due tomorrow. We appearently had 3 full weeks time for it without me noticing. Now I'm sitting here with less than 24 hours left to create something "visually interesting and appealing" .. not only ONE artpiece.. he wants FIVE... *_*FIVE*_* .... so yea i just decided to let this play on repeat.. I have OCD, pure O, and my obsession generally revolves around death, and the fact one day im going to die. it makes me question things that i do as hobbies and some days i can't do anything because nothing feels "productive" enough. Surprisingly, this song really helps me because it flips my mentally completely around into a positive. Thanks Will Wood for the song! And this animation is absolutely stellar!
