Thank you for the great video.
Fun fact: In The Phantom Pain when in the helicopter you can rotate the camera to look up at the map and photos stuck to the ceiling. One photo looks like a satelite snapshot of land with a crosshair. On this photo you can simply see S3.

Ok, I admit it. MGS V (GZ+TPP) is my favorite game. Incredible storytelling, perfect gameplay, 3 large maps, ironic characters, various solo missions, Mother Base management, FOB missions, deep messages analysis... This game seems so real, it is so intense. It is not a game, it is a masterpiece.

I think the wandering old mother base soldiers are part of venom’s imagination just as well as Paz was, because he really miss the old mother base and felt bad when they were tricked as all those soldiers died for big bosses mistake. Also the pictures that you can get from the old mother base soldiers can be grabbed by Paz and i dont think the soldiers can’t survive in the wild for 9 years without survival gear too.

They are officially explained as being from Dite (dee tay) around the end of Metal Gear Survive if you decide to not fight The Lord of Dust, and just try to ride the wormhole back to your time then that’s what you become.

    • @12foot04
      @12foot04 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

In MGSurvive it’s revealed later that Dite is actually the earth 200 years in the future. With The Lord of Dust having the power to manipulate time basically just goes 10 years or so into the past then lives the ten years that way they can keep getting stronger then stronger. Each time it does that there is a time in there were the wormhole pulls the player character into Dite from the XOF attack on MotherBase. So when we are playing as Venom the lord of dust has gone back in time 11 times, and ideally when you play Survive it’s the 11th time it happened and you decide you have to fight them because they are finally strong enough to go back in time far enough to bring the dust to wipe out all of mankind forever

I hold the theory that Ground Zeroes was a Venom training simulation. On top of Miller's words about being tricked by Paz, and the man in the interrogation tapes that sounds suspiciously like him... In the first mission of The Phantom Pain when we rescue Miller, he says aboard the helicopter how he remembers losing Mother Base. Specifically, he says "I remember it all." He then stares directly at you, Venom, and you flash back to: the fall of MB. Then, a scene that is NOT in Ground Zeroes: Second flash is Big Boss bloody and staring out at the sea from the helicopter, looking distressed. Then... flashes of Skull Face before boarding the XOF chopper, something Venom never saw. It's as if the entirety of the events of Ground Zeroes was implanted into Venom's mind. This might be a fourth wall thing, as a "reminder to the player", but then the "false" memory of Big Boss staring out of the helicopter throws that for a loop. Strange stuff.

Naw Hypnosis simply cannot do that and I refuse to believe it. It would have been more believable if they told us that Venom got the memories from drinking a chug jug.

That’s most definitely what it was. It also helps explain why it was the Kroger Sutherland “medic” version of snake that was doing everything. I take a step further and hold the belief that “Snake” in the hospital is just an illusion that venom is seeing. He’s actually doing it all by himself, but his mind hasn’t processed the fact that he’s able to accomplish all of it at that point

The part that I haven't seen anyone discuss is the idea that "V has come to" being a command given vocally, can also be interpreted as "V has come too", being that Venom is now coming along for the ride. Cipher didn't let people know when Big Boss came to, just when Venom did. By the time we're in control of Venom escaping from the hospital, Big Boss is already working with Cipher ensuring that Venom gets out of the hospital safely.

Slight correction: Kaz didn't help Big Boss in Phantom Pain only to end up working for Cipher again in the near future when he helped Solid Snake instead. By that time, Kaz had already found out that Big Boss had tricked him into helping Venom Snake and left him. Kaz rejoined Cipher to work with the real Big Boss who had already rejoined them. Great video! I went ahead and subscribed. The entire series of Metal Gear is built on players(and characters) not knowing the truth. What is and isn't canon is debatable because there are layers of deception shrouding most aspects of the story. After all these years, it's kind of up to interpretation whether or not MGS(PS1) was through Solid Snake's eyes or if it was the VR training that Raiden(and the player) went through. With that as a possibility, it's also reasonable to consider that MGS3 might not be Big Boss's actual story, but Venom Snake's implanted memories of the mission. I haven't completed Peace Walker and TPP so some of this I'll have to go through those games to have a better understanding.
I personally think that not having every bit of the story clearly explained makes it more interesting. I enjoyed MGS4 but one thing I think could have been done better is to leave some things unresolved. Instead, it kind of felt like pieces of the puzzle were being forced together in order to create fan service.

I have a few theories/headcanons that involve TPP going into MG1/MG2. First, the TX-11 Cyberoid (Bloody Brads) are modeled after The Medic, the outfit is a take on the Leather Jacket uniform, but with the original Outer Heaven emblem.
Next, in MG2: Solid Snake: calling George Kessler during your fight with Big Boss, he'll tell you a rumor about the Legendary Mercenary, after the Outer Heaven Uprising he was involved in the Snatcher Project, to replace the parts of his body that he lost with cybernetic enhancements.
Perhaps the rumor was true, except it was Venom Snake prior to the events of MG1. Venom, in the prologue of TPP still has his right eye intact, but grayed as if blinded. Well, while the marking system in-game was a mechanic that helped the player, what if Venom had some enhancements already, and his "eyepatch" was like a prototype of the Solid Eye system? And when you got upgrades for your Bionic Arm, it enhanced your skills. And the man behind the Snatcher Project (in the shared Kojima universe: Snatcher, MG, Policenauts) was Dr Pettrovich Madnar. In MGS4, while we don't meet him, he's still active albeit underground, and the best in the field of robotics.

Look I will give it that the story is way deeper and better than people give it credit for, but the 2 big bosses twist in context of the OG metal gears is bafflingly stupid, like what's the point of developing 2 different super massive military nations at the same time if you're trying to go into hiding? It's a smoke screen to let the real BB do his thing but by the time of MG1 Big Boss shouldn't be a pariah or an enemy of the states still I mean he leads foxhound and all that so if people already pretty openly know he's got this military nation out there the whole original twist of Big Boss being the leader of outer heaven in MG1 makes absolutely no sense in lore, it honestly made more sense before that big boss just barely survived Outer Heaven blowing up and just had another base. The story of Venom is cool and fascinating but it feels silly when they try to link it back to MG1 a game with very little and silly story from the 80s and trying to make it work with this magnum opas of indirect storytelling. This series is such a mess of retcons and that's the single biggest reason it's confusing, the pieces literally don't fit. Kojima and the boys straight up went off vibes allot of the time.

MGS2 and MGSV are like mirror images of each other

I always thought the parasite thing seemed out of place and random, idk how all these things in V slipped past me so easily when your video makes it seem so obvious 😅. Guess I was younger and hadn’t played the games recently before V so my memory wasn’t too sharp on the series

What if Chico is actually Ahab and the Medic is Ishmael🤔

That's what I felt the whole time. Cus Ishmael is ass at CQC

A cooler theory I've come across is that Ishmael doesn't even exist. Like the things he does Venom actually did but he remembers or imagined Ishmael doing it. Fighting, helping etc

@@Niborino94092nd one that I prefer is that mantis was behind some of his actions also if you look at the bits of his face through the bandages he doesn’t look like big boss or venom post surgery he looks like the default character creator face I think that it’s mantis getting venom’s subconscious and his original self’s anger and using it that’s Ishmael and then when mantis has the horn in his head that’s brainwashed venom controlling mantis it’s also why Ishmael never returns the brainwashing is completely set the old him is gone and what’s left is venom snake a phantom of a monster and a medic both of them lead him to become a legend the only thing is if he’s gonna be a legend will he heal or hurt ?

I’m just hoping MGS 6 is about to be released and the clues were in front of us the whole time. It does seem Kojima directed Death Strandings but in a more “hands off” way. So maybe MGS6 was and is the true focus being worked on these 9 years

Unlikely. Kojima was fired from Konami and Konami still owns the right to Metal Gear unless that changed and I didn't hear about it.

I think Metal Gear fans do far too much intellectual heavy lifting for Hideo Kojima.

good editing but the script for the video is really bad Lots of repeated words in the same sentence, lots of meaningless pedantic filler phrases that dont serve any purpose, and an uncritical knob-slob of Kojimas 5D mega-brain plan that is overly forgiving to his convoluted and disjointed storytelling.
But I watched the whole thing! Hope you keep getting better and hope for more videos with tighter scripts in the future! Cheers!
