Forgive me, Uncle Roger - you tortured yourself for our sake, but I literally could not watch till the end. That Turkey plus sirloin plus hotdog combo was beyond my tolerance.
Nephew Bennet would have liked this one for christmas. I know Uncle Roger has no control of manufacturing nieces and nephews. But this auntie is sad.
The thing most impressive about Jack is the fact that his channel has been alive for nearly 15 years and he has made absolutely no progress in cooking. That takes effort.
Or it takes no effort at all. To improve, it actually takes some levels of commitment. This "garbage stew" is actually known in my area as "hobo stew", because that's literally all the homeless people can afford here from panhandling, or about what they're given at the soup kitchens. I've made it before during the lockdowns when I had basically no income, but it wasn't THAT atrocious looking.
What's more shocking is there are so many people in the comments that have never heard of Jack before.

honestly, I'm just gonna believe you at face value with zero fact checking on my part. It just makes it easier to digest this man's existence if I can believe that he's the epitome of evil through incompetence.
The saddest part about Jack is that, he's been on the internet for years, doing what he does, and not once in that time did he ever consider maybe stepping up his game and making food that doesn't look like it was prepared by a stoned college student in a dormroom.

It's actually quite interesting how if you google potato soup you get pictures without hotdogs but if google the German Kartoffelsuppe many have hotdogs in them.
Army stew (Budae jjigae) is a Korean stew that has hotdogs in it. I made it once an it is quite nice.

@@trollkiller1008 Salmonella is actually pretty rare in chickens and eggs these days. Tends to be whole shipments that go bad from being mishandled. It is still absurdly stupid to risk raw/undercooked chicken though.
Funnily enough, there are some traditional German salads that are made with mayo (partially, depending on the region of Germany). Specifically potato salad, noodle salad and cucumber salad. :)
A classic western potato salad is made with potatoes, pickles, eggs, onions, sometimes carrots (sauteed beforehand) and hard boiled eggs, all in a dressing made with primarily mayo and a bit of the pickle juice. It sounds weird, but it is actually very delicious and a staple for any good bbq or house party.
I like to add some peas and carrots into my potato salad and I use some yogurt, so I can use less mayo.

Well... Just for some context, here in PH, we have a traditional dish called 'Ginamay' or more known as 'Menudo'. It is a pork stew recipe where normally we put potatoes and carrots and raisins but there is a variation where we add hotdogs in the stew as well so hotdog on stew is... Well it's okay if you know how to work your way in using the hotdog or sausage into the recipe...

I used to use one for processing pet food (for birds, reptiles that eat vegetables, etc) and it’s good for that, but even then I never used it to make human food lol
In the end they’re hard to clean well so the ease of chopping up a lot of veggies fast was completely beat by the difficulty of cleaning the damn thing so I went back to a heavy knife for chopping and haven’t gone back

Actually, this was well known as one of the "Depression Foods" back in during the American Great Depression. It was then "rediscovered" during the hard times of WW2 food rationing. So while in today's standards this will not appeal to most people, it was a source of nutrients during hard times. Just thought I would give a little food history lesson 😁😁

Here I am fit and 71kgs, eating 2 meals in a 2 hour time frame a day on keto, which includes oats, noodles, steak, chicken, eggs, all cooked and seasoned, easily being able to go 48 plus hours without eating and no hunger pains (a byproduct of Keto making your circulatory system more acidic).
And I have guys like Jack telling me I'm in misery and saying they prefer a life of eating so called luxury food than a life of misery by being thin.
I used to be 110kgs, I used to eat 4-5 times a day I'd get mad hungry if I went 2-3 hours without food, I used to get a sweat on just by tying my shoes or making my bed, would huff and puff on a 3 minute walk, screw going back to that life.
I still eat fast food twice a week, just given up on slop like 2 minute noodles, peanut butter sandwiches, garbage cereals, lazy microwaved hard as leather food, absolutely no regrets, ain't convincing me that majority of big people are spending an hour to properly prepare and cook food.

I’ve had hotdog in a soup before. We got it from a food bank and I’m assuming we didn’t have enough meat for the soup so they diced it and threw it in.

When I was a kid and my parents were very poor and in their mid 20s, we definitely made what we called “garbage soup.” It’s not something you make because you want it, you make it because you need to eat and letting veggies or meat go off isn’t an option. I will say, at least we never put hot dogs in it. 😂

The concept makes sense, the problem is the way Jack executes it.
He could've fried off the meat and browned it, then fried off the veggies, deglaze with the beer, maybe make bone stock from the leftover turkey and add that stock into the stew, maybe add some dried herbs, braise it for a few hours and you'd have a pretty decent dish. TBH most stews were made when peasants just tossed stuff they had left over into a pot and cooked it for a few hours.
Stews are pretty easy to make, and pretty hard to mess up (stews are my favorite type of dish to make). Jack managed to do it somehow.

I mean, raw chicken isn't necessarily a bad *flavour.* Raw chicken sushi and chicken sashimi are a thing in Japan. It's just not great idea to eat chickens raw that haven't been specifically grown for that for other reasons (namely salmonella).

This guy will go down as the only online "cook" in history to have the health department shut the kitchen in his house down.
He doesn't even wash his plates, he'll re-use the same plate that had the bleeding raw chicken on it and eat off it, despite the obvious blood stains still on the plate.

I kinda curious what he later did with that peace of pork fat that he just tossed over to remove from the beans. I somehow suspect some weeks later he picked it up from under the fridge to use in one of his many original stews. He wouldn't be just buying beans with pork and throwing pork away when he could just buy plain beans.

Sooo my family grew up poor and we called our "garbage stew" fish/food pantry soup where we used most things we got from the food pantry (which is a place that would get food donations and you could pick up a box of food once a month I think) and put it into a soup. My mom actually knew how to cook tho so it always tasted good, but I remember being sick of it because even when the ingredients were different the base was more or less the same. That, and I knew when she made it, we weren't doing well financially so that was sad. But yeah "garbage stew" I think a lot of poor people can relate to 😂
The salad was ew but the soup was kind of a forever stew, im not broke but I was debaiting starting one just cuz i like soup and its.cold out, you basicly add ingredients and water everyday

Jack spent ten dollars for his set of knives and ten dollars on his slap chop.
slop chop is useful, dk why people hate on it. When cutting a lot of stuff it could save you a lot of time. Takes you what, 2-3 mins to cut something up fine? slap chop 3 seconds x 5-6 items literally saving 10-30minutes for cooking.
