Jim Davidson doing what he does best,,,,,telling it as it is. Never stop doing it Jim xxx
I haven't gave to any national charities for years, I personally give to local ones, actually go and give. When national charities are paying *directors, ceo's, publicity employees etc* vast amounts money, it's shows where their priorities really lay.

Hi Jim, We've only just caught up on this. I haven't worn a poppy for years, i refuse to give 1 penny of my hard earned money to a money grabbing charity. Both my parents served in WW2, Dad was an RSM and was at Dunkirk and later Burma, he never spoke about the war, but we know from others who were there that it was awful. Mum was a Wren. When they were retired Dad became ill with dementia, Mumwas struggling financially, caring for him, she went to RBL to ask if there was anyway they could help, was told no, nothing we can do to help, since then i've refused to support them, though previously we'd always worn our poppies with pride. I now check how much the CEO of any charity is being paid before i'll give them any money, which is very sad.

Jenny, a few years ago I was trying to buy a poppy I didn't see them in the shop so I looked online. The British Leigon they are the richest of the the ten charities. It put me off I will never buy a poppy again. I bought a metal poppy years ago it cost me over £13. One charity is Water aid they get 53 p out of every pound it's a rip off.

    • @PhilipCBooth

We had a friend who had breast cancer and years later it came back and she passed away. I raised £220, £20 of it was my own money. Going house to house asking people to sponsor me was really hard, lots of people walked six miles. I later looked up the CEO he is on £270 k a year, Cancer Research is a joke.

As an ex RAF employee, a full time NATO potato and massive fan of JD, I was mildly miffed at the banner headline of this video. I started watching thinking, this had better be good Jim. And it was! Now I am fuming at how much money collectively these charities are (seemingly) doing nothing with!🤬. Sadly, as lovely as my bosses are, I can’t use my company phone to donate but I will use the wife’s phone as it comes out of central household funds. I will, from now on, be donating to you Jimbo because I 100% trust you with my money. Anyone with half a brain knows how hard you work and support serving military and veterans. 🙏👍

After my rant on Facebook about the lack of support for ex-vet's, an old Army mate mentioned your piece. I served for over 20 yrs in the British Army. M.D'd with PTSD along with numerous injuries and have had no support from any so called charity. I've even been on a local news channel stating the lack of support. I've had a phone call from the RBL. That was it, nothing put in place. I couldn't receive treatment from Combat Stress. They couldn't take into account my disabilities. I feel I now live my life in isolation. The only thing that keeps me going is my dog. I've lost contact with my children. Well actually adults. Because of my PTSD, it's wrecked any relationship I've had and yes like a lot of Vet's. I drink in the evenings so I can fall asleep. Still attack myself whilst asleep. I'm just looking forward to the day I die.

It seems like a lot I completely agree but compared to a most other charity CEOs that's actually quite low. I understand people can argue they should work for free or just enough to live on etc. But bottom line is these are people who could very easily earn 4x or more. I agree completely though this is why I don't really donate to any big charities because I think why am I on average salary donating money that will pay the wages of someone who's on triple or more than me.

    • @Lytton333
      @Lytton333 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@blueshrimp6716 Think about it this way.. a tenth of a million people give a pound every year just so he can live like a Lord and do the opposite of what he is employed to do.. give money to ex soldiers. Know why? Take the year 2016 (for example) approx 51% of the funds from poppy sales and donations (a total of 146 million) were actually spent on the welfare of ex servicemen. That's half.. the rest went on wages, admin and promotion

I used to wear a poppy but an elderly man I met. Told me his father had for decades volunteered to sell
Poppies. He was invited to join higher administration shall we say. He accepted but was appalled when he was offered £200 per week expenses!! Furthermore the discussions re changing vehicles from BMW’s to Mercedes paid for by donations was the last straw. He resigned and never sold or purchased a poppy again. I think it is probably the most abused charity in the UK.
Note: My late father fought in North Africa, Sicily and the Italian mainland and would be appalled at the abuse of the poppy. 😢

Sad fact is that ALL Charities have been monetised and taken on business model of exorbitant salaries for the CEOs and their Execs. When they were set up they really were charities, whereby nobody got paid! Gone are the days. However, I would not dream of going on a Remembrance parade without a Poppy. Sorry Jim. Jim dis a show for us in Falklands 1984, in Kelly’s Garden. Did he get paid? I am an old Soldier who has never had to use Charity, as most don’t. We must support those that do, but Poppies keeps in mind support for those that need it and as such I am afraid I disagree with Jim. Sorry Jim!

Been asking people for years where is the poppy money going, people think it goes to keep the graveyards looking superb, but of course that is the CWGC. It started for hundreds of thousands of WW1 injured veterans, now there are just hundreds from Korea, Ireland, Falklands, Malaya, 2 Gulf Wars, Bosnia etc. My Grandfather established the British Legion club in Alton Hants after WW2. He was barred in 1989 for complaining the club was serving drug dealers who frequented the bar in the afternoon. He was told to shut up as they bring in a lot of money!

Namaste Jim, do you know the Royal British Legion, are refusing to help and give assistance, or represents disabled veterans being subjected to open Disabled discrimination, by Energy companies, or by Water companies, or by Telecommunications companies, or by Financial Services Providers, all refusing to provide for disabled veterans disabilities needs and requirements, or even by the NHS refusing medical treatment to disabled veteran because of disabled discrimination too. The RBL excuse is our charities rules does not cover disabled discrimination of disabled veterans, so we cannot help disabled veterans being subjected to open disabled discrimination and disabled hatred, I kid you not senior RBL office gave this excuse to my disabled partner and disabled veteran, he from a military (army, navy, marines and air force) family served since 1750's to the present day, Gurkhamum and a former RBL Branch Committee member too

We live in a world where we send rockets into space for fun and we still got charity and Jim's got another new charity?...I was told at seven years old that charity will never end"..40 years down the line and it's true"...it's the do gooders and the soft folk giving'...there's a sucker born every minute.

If they can spend £100,000 for a new logo ( what a waste ) instead of that going to help our homeless veterans I will not be buying another poppy

I once spent a night on the street, 8.11.01. I did not sleep a wink, the police drove round had a look and drove off. I had a house 🏡. I just wanted to see what it was like.

I used to sell poppies as a Sea Cadet and subsequently served for 23 years in the RN. I didn't know this was happening. My donations are now going to your veterans charity from now on.
