Looks like a sweet place in which to recover. Yes, a backpack is a great way to carry light items. It's lovely that you can get out and walk as you heal. Especially when there are places to sit when needed. You are a smart guy - We trust that you are hearing the messages from both your medical team & your body. It's going to be so great to get back to Olive and one day at a time you are getting closer to that day.
People who have never had back surgery or back pain really cannot relate to how much time it can take to rebound. After you’ve felt bad for sooo long and have a successful surgery, you feel like a huge weight has been lifted and you want to jump right back into living a normal life. Our bodies are remarkable creations. However, any surgery takes time to allow for healing from the inside out. There are also LOTS of muscles in the back that will scream “pace yourself”. 😄 So glad you have realized this. Thanks for bringing us up-to-date. When in doubt, ask! 😘😘

I’m glad you have pants with elastic waist and comfy shoes. I have had tons of surgeries in my lifetime and I am very big on soothing, soft, stretchy, easy to dress oneself clothing. I like the neighborhood where you are staying. Beautiful video of nature around you, too! I LOVE taking pictures of flora and fauna and spiderwebs, and even interesting shadows and patterns.

I have depression and anxiety. It's like normal when you have chronic pain. I paint and listen to music. I used to read a lot. I walk a lot to music . I love it. I'm dreaming of being a nomad. I know I mentioned in my card to be sure and get lots of rest and not over do. That's because I had a tendency to overdo and paid the price. Guess we all do the same thing. I'm glad the last couple days have been better. Hope Olive is doing well. There were times in my life I was separated from my dogs and they would go so crazy when I finally returned. Olive will go nuts. Of course, I would get snubbed and scolded a little for leaving my cats so long. But that was usually from my cats, the dogs couldn't contain their excitement. It's nice to hear so many people are genuinely concerned about your wellbeing. Many youtube friends. Glad you ran into Vicky, seems amazing in such a large community. The food looked so yummy. There wasn't a way to send a card seeing I live in assisted living but I do hope you alway read my comment. I'm just so happy to see you up and walking. Pain is alway an issue after surgery. Good days .....and not so good days. The norm after surgery I think. When we have a good day, we tend to think we can do more than we really should! I had major surgery in August too, and yes, I overdid things once or twice. The body sure let's you know soon enough! Glad to hear you're sleeping better.
I love New Balance! I just bought 2 new pairs at the NB outlet, after my last pair were 4 years old! I’ve never had tennie’s last 4 years before & honestly they were still good. Glad you are doing better!
