Thanks for watching from Texas! Would love to see photos of the ambulance build when its done. I think an ambulance would be a great thing for the size of it. Probably easy to drive but nice and large inside.
Hazel ☘️ … You are such an inspiration ! I too did a no build in a Citroen Grand Picasso C4 … I’ve stayed in it all seasons for up to 6weeks at a time in Spain and Portugal … for me it’s the way to go 👍 … I’ve had camper vans in the past when my children were small, but stayed mostly in campsites then … but a car conversion like this allows for camping very stealthily anywhere, even on streets in a city ! … and all for free ! 👌 I have a 3 gallon shower tank and shower head … I attach a curtain with magnets over the back hatch, very handy when off the beaten track ! My internal set up is very much like yours,, great minds eh ? 😀 … I too am solo female 60 plus … we have earned the right to be outspoken 😅😂🤣 I hope you enjoy many many nights camping … I look forward to more vlogs , I’ve just found your channel so I’ll back watch and I’m sure comment.! Hi Ms. Joan. You came up in my TH-cam feed. Really liked your content. I liked and subscribed. Looking forward to more of your videos. God bless your journey 💜
Haha! Ya there is not much space in my van so you gotta do what you gotta do. I don't have it there often because I have to keep moving it. But when I need it it is very nice to have it there.
Thank you for showing us wheelchair users can still do it, I’m 56 and I have wanted to do this in my SUV but not sure where to store my wheelchair cause they take up so much room, I’m trying to get the wheelchair you have but they are so expensive , mine is 45 pounds but it does stand up in the back of SUV, I really want to get those tents that attach to your backend of the SUV.
the lift that carries my chair into the van can keep the chair raised about 10- 12 inches above the floor. So while it is still in the way I can sleep with my feet under it. And during the day on dry days I can leave my chair outside.
Hi Joan hope you have many happy adventures in your travels. I am a medically retired LPN and i commend you in not letting challenges stop you. I just got my 1999 turtle top Ford E 150 ready I guess it is a no build so I am going to jump out there too.
You are such an inspiration. I like your set up and use of the space. I am not ready to purchase my van yet but will continue to watch for more videos from you. There isn’t much out there about women with physical challenges traveling/camping. Thank you!
Wonderful start! I am a disabled senior that travels for suicide awareness (my 27-year-old son lost his battle with addiction and depression on October 8, 2016). I recently bought a 2010 wheelchair Dodge grand Caravan unfortunately the engine with only 60,000 miles blew up so I am waiting for a used motor to be put in her as there was a long (3-4 months) waiting list for a remanufactured motor. I’m not real happy about that but I need to get back on the road. I use a power chair so I do not have as Much space as you. There is no middle row seats that is where my powerchair rolls in and lives. Also with the conversion there is no under floor storage which is disappointing. I am going to keep the rear backseat and Use two shower chairs in front of that with some padding over the shower chairs and a foam mattress over top the backseat and the shower chairs for a bed. At home I sleep in a recliner as due to my back I cannot sleep on a flat surface. I am not a minimalist by any Definition and I will be trying to fit I am sure way too much “junk” because my last camper van was in 1992 e150 high top and I have like nine large totes of gear as well as three totes of camping food not to mention large hammocks huge family camping tent etc. Once I get the van back I will be making videos of what will actually fit and how I’m going to set it up. I do more travel than staying in one location for a set period of time. But I hope to change that in the near future. My next trip is going to be June 3. I Live outside Palestine Texas but travel to Pennsylvania and have done events over in South Carolina. I travel with 3 Chihuahuas and if I take any extended trips I also have a medium size mutt That will probably go with me. I am really excited to see another solo female traveler in a wheelchair doing a minivan build! Please feel free to hit me up on Facebook at Dawn A Burton. I am looking forward to seeing your future videos.
Hi Dawn : Good for you ! I hope you get your new engine soon. I am interested in sharing ideas & experiences on the road & camping with other wheelchair users. Deb
I love your minimalistic no build design. Your layout of where everything is at is Ver well thought out. Replacing the 5 gallon luggable loo bucket for a shorter 4 gallon bucket 🪣, along with the use of rain gutter screen for the window screen are two very ingenious ideas. Also, Weather-Tech window covers are awesome. $250.00 is a good price for those because people don’t realize what a time consuming project that is. Way to go 😊 👏
Great first video. TH-cam may be slow going for you, but I think you have a great subject matter and onscreen presence. I also do part-time no-build van dwelling.
I hope you will find the channel helpful. I hope that the discussion that is generated will help a lot of people. I would love to see photos of your van. I have an email: wheelsonwheels61@gmail.com. If you would like to share them with me.
Wonderful ideas, maybe turn the drawer units to face inside instead of each other. Then table could go in between maybe one of those foldable tables you can use in bed would work great over toilet and you could use over your legs
Yes good idea but I had them facing that way so I can access from inside and out side the van. It is really energy consuming to get in and out of the van so I wanted access from in and out. I have a new more workable plan for when I get back in my van. Keep watching and you will see what I did. :)
Weather tech window covers are awesome. I shoved big screen in back windows. You don't have to cut screen perfect. Just shove in until all is snug. I taped the weather tech cover to window so there is still privacy but air. My experience is, you need to allow as much air in on this hot days. Ps auto start is nice to run ac for 15 min before sleep. 100 degrees out i had to run 2 to 3 times for good night sleep. Good luck. I enjoy this content. What happen to you could happen to any of us. I wouldn't want to be stuck at home. Thank you. Stay strong. Life's an adventure.

@out-spokenwheelsonwheels5870 I'll be in a chevy equinox. I'm gonna head to gettysburg for a few days then to ny then probably up to Canada. Eventually heading out west for awhile
@@aaslacker Chevy Equinox! Small! That sounds fun though. I want to go accross the states and come up the east coast to go back to Canada after this winter too. You are picking a time when it is starting to get cold in Canada. Hope you can stay warm. The prairies are not a nice place in winter. Hope you can get through them before it gets too cold and windy.
I bought a mobility van to take care od my mom. Rear seats dont stow away just fold down back. Always trying to look for similar things but all with no seats. My ramp comes out passenger slide door which is broken now. Stay safe
It's no fun when stuff breaks. Especially when it is something you REALLY need. I am sorry it is not working. Dodge Grand Caravans have stow and go seats.
@@out-spokenwheelsonwheels5870 i have a town and country with stow. They must have reconfigured. Another electric component back there, spare tire, last rope to pull to stow not there.
@@out-spokenwheelsonwheels5870 I was just saying my rear seats do not stow away they just fold the back down. There is a ramp under the floor that comes out the passenger side door so the middle seats don't exist.
I don't stay in my chair. When I am camping I transfer out of my chair to get into the back. The lift pulls my chair in after. Have a look at my earlier video of the van tour when it is in camping mode. I only get in the back when I am camping.

I have plans to do a video on just that. In fact it may be next weeks video. I have a lift for my chair and a lift for me to get into the front seat. But stay tuned! I will get a video out on it soon.
@@out-spokenwheelsonwheels5870 sweet thank you for replying so fast. I will be there to watch.
☺🙋♀️
Nice setup , how does the bed sleeps
Its a little cramped but mostly comfortable.
Hello Joan! I hope things a plugging along well for you. Can you post a link for your window coverings please?
weathertech.ca. I will see if I can put that below the video as well. Thanks for asking.
@@out-spokenwheelsonwheels5870 your welcome and thank you I hope they can do a custom job I’d like to do the windows in an old motor home, would save me a lot of work lol
@@marnieloken7814 Not sure if they do or not. Maybe add another reply here when you find out. Maybe others would like to know as well.
#vancityvanlife #jeffeebear some good ideas
Thank you. Yes I have been following them for a couple of years now. They are both great guys. Emi and Joseph too!
Good for you! I had a stroke a year ago and I'm tired of putting my life on hold too. I'll be heading out in a cpl months
Will you be in a camper or van or something? Where do you think you would like to go?
@out-spokenwheelsonwheels5870 I'll be in a chevy equinox. I'm gonna head to gettysburg for a few days then to ny then probably up to Canada. Eventually heading out west for awhile
@@aaslacker Chevy Equinox! Small! That sounds fun though. I want to go accross the states and come up the east coast to go back to Canada after this winter too. You are picking a time when it is starting to get cold in Canada. Hope you can stay warm. The prairies are not a nice place in winter. Hope you can get through them before it gets too cold and windy.
@@out-spokenwheelsonwheels5870 I'm one of those weird people who loves the winter lol
@@aaslacker It does have its nice points but I want warmth now. Lol
@@Atrip111 Not sure I understand what you mean
@@out-spokenwheelsonwheels5870 I was just saying my rear seats do not stow away they just fold the back down. There is a ramp under the floor that comes out the passenger side door so the middle seats don't exist.
@@Atrip111 oh i see.
YOU ARE THE COOO0LEST!!!!🎉 WOW!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ha Ha. Thanks!
Some people put a computer fan into the gutter guard on their window and it creates an air conditioner.
i had not heard of that. I will look into it
Use trash bags for the liner in the bucket for toilet. That's what I usa
ya that's what I use too. I will throw the whole thing in another bag when I go to throw it away.
Please turn your volume up!
Thanks for the input. I will keep that in mind on future videos

Don’t understand. Where does wheelchair get in and move around?
I don't stay in my chair. When I am camping I transfer out of my chair to get into the back. The lift pulls my chair in after. Have a look at my earlier video of the van tour when it is in camping mode.
I only get in the back when I am camping.
.... can't hear this ....✌️🌄☕
Sorry. i know it is quiet. I will be doing a new van tour this spring. It will be more thorough and louder.
