Watch out fans, former sniper Richard Maynes is back yet again and this time he will be reacting to Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
As a former sniper, Richard will be giving us unique insights into the realism and accuracy of the game's depiction of sniping. Throughout the video, we'll be watching our guest's reactions as he critiques the game's mechanics, graphics, and overall gameplay. We'll also get to hear his thoughts on the tactics and strategies used by the game's characters as they navigate the open-world setting.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint is an online-only tactical shooter video game developed by Ubisoft Paris and published by Ubisoft. The game was released worldwide on 4 October 2019 for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One, and on 18 December 2019 for Stadia. The game is the eleventh installment in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon franchise and is a narrative sequel to the 2017 video game Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands.
The game is set in an open-world environment called Auroa, a fictional island chain in the Pacific Ocean. The player takes on the role of Lieutenant Colonel Anthony "Nomad" Perryman a U.S. Special Operation Forces service member sent to the island to investigate a series of disturbances involving Skell Technology, a military contractor based on Auroa. Upon release, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint received mixed reviews from critics, with criticism for its mechanics and mission design. The game underperformed commercially despite selling 6 million worldwide on all platforms, as of 1 January 2020.

My biggest issue with these tactical games. The AI is just way too damn dumb to make it realistic. Its either you can take out an entire camp silently because the AI cant realize that a dead body means an enemy is near, or the second you kill a single person, he trips the silent alarm in his pocket and now the entire military knows your exact location
Update: I did get GR: Breakpoint after all the recommendations from everyone. I'll give it props, if you put the game on hardest difficult and put on the spartan mod, the AI do seem to react way more realistically. Also running the FPV mod, because fps are more fun IMO. Never been a fan of 3rd person.

Why would you want to make it realistic, that is a dumb idea for videogames in general, reality is boring thats why videogames exist, in the case of tactical games they are simply puzzles that have to be engaging and intellectually challenge.

Breakpoint was such a fun game man truly underrated only issues were the ai and cheaters in pvp
They had some cool weapons, like the VHS-2 which I actually recently picked up the Hellion, the import version of it.

I like this game. Most of the time I'm helping new players with problems or helping them to get weapons blueprints and offer help if they need it.
Breakpoint do be kinda fun with buddies. My best friend bought it so we could play togheter....and we truly are the "SPECIAL" forces.

I wish they'd make the AI scramble for cover when they hear or see one of their men get killed.
They do if you get made when youre sniping most of them will run off and hide while maybe 1 or 2 go out and find you
With the Spartan mod it’s even better. Even without the sightline increase, firing a gun inside a base. Around 100-150m depending on the type will have the enemies go on caution. They’ll start looking around and moving. Sending drones to you. It makes sniping more engaging
I love how the ai isn't competent on the easy difficulties, but on the hardest one they kinda really sorta are.
If you play on hard and get shot you go down quickly it’s more realistic again it’s a game not real

When are developers going to realize that we want more simulation style games, and no arcade BS! The more realistic it is, and the more difficult it is, the more rewarding it is!
You see a lot of 'simulator style' games on PC man, I think the reason that they aren't as mainstream is because of the difficulty in adapting so much movement / tactical approach options, etc to console because of the limitations of controllers. ARMA is a good example of this, you can actually play ARMA with a controller, it'd be stupid to do so though because you limit yourself so much. So considering that, most big game companies obviously wouldn't want to touch game ideas that are limited to mostly adults who have spent 1000+ dollars on a computer setup, because to do so limits their audience to a minority of people who play video games. The market is definitely there, but not feasible with current control options. Things like breakpoint are probably the closest you can get before veering into PC territory.

Sniper shots aren’t as quiet in real life as they are in games either, they for damn sure use supersonic rounds, silencers can’t muffle that.

Depends, they definitely gonna clean up the casings cuz its easier to make out who was shooting by checking them than trying to get some information out of the deformed piece of lead

Once you drop a body you got max like absolute best case you got 5 minutes before somebody realizes that bob isn’t there anymore whether they’re just walking by and don’t see him or a radio check or even somebody trying to bum a dart

I really enjoyed the game great environment really beautiful for the time and just liked the story and the way you get new guns and upgrade your guns. 👍

Just remember these enemies aren't proper military, they've been trained by ex military but aren't actually properly trained like a ghost would be

If anyone every player Metro Exodus, that game is honestly the most realistic. If you snipe an enemy and they're some what close to another enemy, the other enemy will hear the first guy go down and will alert everyone else.

Breakpoint has realism settings but not to that extent. At the end of the day it’s a stealth action shooter. It’ll never be on par with an actual realistic tactical shooter. The AI needs to be adaptive enough to react but not so realistic that it makes the game not fun. A better game for him to react to would be Sniper Elite 5 or Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2. Those games are meant to be Sniper centric.

Just literally watched a real lif video of a team of snipers taking out like 4 or 5 people in matter of a few seconds. Also the dudes were just kind of out on post looking around but nobody was shooting or anything. So idk what this guy is talking about. But to say it never happens is a bit of a fake expert opinion.

If you want realism, get a simulator shooter like Insurgency or Squad.
Ghost Recon has a focus on stealth so of course the enemies aren’t alerted when using stealth.
It’s just Splinter Cell with more shooting.
Originally ghost recon did lean more closely to realism.
In the original Ghost Recon a squad mate who was killed was gone for the whole campaign.

Realism is fun in its own bubble, as im sure players of Arma can attest to, but more mainstream casual games (in comparison to Arma and others) like Ghost Recon have to walk a fine line between realism and fun gameplay. Yeah, the enemies wouldn't stand around like that, but then you wouldn't feel like a gaming badass after taking down a whole outpost by yourself now would you. It's all about balance

I want a game where I can only carry 90 rounds, I need to shit in a hole I have to dig and I need to sit in position for 17 hours before I see the enemy and I can only shoot 5 times then evac. So much fun.

I really tried to like breakpoint but it was just so braindead easy even with the custom options... you can literally full bore sprint through every single compound silently shooting guys in the head without any need for thought or strategy.
This game is so slow and not many places to explore and stuff very boring game
Far cry 2 enemy AI is way better and it came out in 2008

No it is a great game a little un realistic at times (like sentinel being retarded) but then again so was wildlands, breakpoint was perhaps (in immersive mode max difficulty) the most enjoyable GR game out there and I still play it to this day

To be real, Ghost Recon Games are really not realistic, and the AI is terrible. overhyped game for sure. They just stand around like sitting ducks and let you pick ‘em all off.
