The claim to having the best beaches in Esperance came from "scientifically proven to have the whitest and cleanest sand in the world". The beaches in QLD were claiming they had the best beaches, so the tourist board sent a team to the Cape LeGrande area to test the purity of the sand, and Esperance won. You can google it for the full story if you like - I was working for The Esperance Express at the time, and remember it well (QLD tourism wasn't happy lol)
There's a Lunar Eclipse tomorrow (5th May) visible in Perth @11:15pm . Please buy a wind muff for your camera that wind noise is terrible. Love your videos!
The reason the water is so clear and blue is that there are no rivers running into the sea. Therefore no runoff from polluted waterways. Esperance is a jewel, let's hope it stays that way.
the water comes out of the sand, and there are some small rivers I'm sure? Its quite far from Perth and usually quite cold and windy, with no reefs like ningaloo. I'm quite positive it will stay our secret. tho there was a lead spilling saga from the port at one point.

It's very nice to have a friend on travels...but it come a lot of problems also..as you say in national parks you are not allowed with a dog...and when you travel to other parts in the world someone needs to take care of him or her.. Born in Esperance, it's my hometown. It's the most magical place in summer. Winter not so much.. hahaha But i miss it. "Wonga" Quagie beach was my families hangout from the farm. They are the best beaches. Climbed Frenchmans peak many times as a kid, the view from up there is amazing. Great place to picnic.
My mum live s in Perth 😊 I not bean back their Sint s mid 80 s. Wish I could go their to cee her an the lovley beaches ..but hay. I finally getting away. For two day s. Of to Willson prom. Fishing harray. Molly. 😊 I not had a brake or few days away in 3 so years or longer Sint my art s degree art camp s in summer s Flinders an odd weekend at stoney point 😊...Molly ? any tip s for good spot s to check out in Willson prom 😊..
If your ever in Tasmania go check out wine glass Bay. From memory it's top 5 best beach in Australia or world. Takes almost 2 hours to hike up and down a mountain but it's nuts.
They should offer permits to people with dog that allow them to go into national parks if they can prove they're responsible and clean up after their dogs. Others will stay it's to protect the wildlife. My dog won't attack any animals or birds. And if it's a scent problem, I call bull.... in most of Australia, we have wild dogs. And in alpine national parks, they have sled dogs. Feel like it's not protecting anyone. Except for some people who aren't doing the right thing and being responsible for their dogs. Most of them do far more damage to the environment than any dog could do. Humans should need a permit to enter national parks if they can prove they will be responsible and respectful to the environment.
Molly, I like what you but I'd suggest a step further that I don't know if anyone has done yet but you may find it a good idea and a money maker to subsidise your tour. Australia has 1,000s of beaches so how about creating a visual and descriptive text of each one you visit. A directory by area so others can look up the beaches, see a drone overview, see the access, see the facilities and cap areas, etc. Not hard to do, you are already doing 70% of it but everyone would like a one stop shop access online, maybe you could get funding from WA tourism or a commercial party. The key is the video clips and your chatter, views.
What a silly thing not to allow people to take their dogs to National Parks... There are things that don't make sense, not least because a Park is a "piece of the world" and dogs have as much right to the world as people... Anyway...

In the United States dogs are allowed in national parks as long as they are on a leash. Maybe the aussie government should follow our lead. It works here
Yes, I was going to say that further north there are great beaches and warm enough to actually go swimming. The last campsite you stayed at had much better access than those with masses of stairs to climb.
Thanks for the vid Molly! Miss Esperance! awesome beaches lived in Kalgoorlie from 1996 - 2004 ! In the 8yrs it was rare to be there on a hot day! But the ocean always reminded you how Fresh the Sth Ocean can be!! LOL Miss Cape Le Grand one of the best campgrounds going round by far!

Esperance girl here. Large hill climb with the hole in it is Frenchman's Peak....its an awesome place to watch the sunset from Feb to end March.
