Yes but compared to what general aviation et private jets can offer today in a cockpit, it's nothing ! I'm not saying that the A350 flightdeck is not beautiful and evolved but what can be found in general and private aviation is such above ! I think it's because of the time taken to have an airliner and the fact that airliners do not have so many options in the flightdeck. While a private plane can be designed in way less time so when it comes to the market, the technology inside is fresher.
Ive taken this flight out of CYYZ to LFPG on the a350 a couple times. One of the best experiences I've had as a passenger! love the engineering marvel of the 350.

L'air du temps nous propose un merveilleux système d'affichage numérique particulièrement clair et ergonomique, en plus d'être très sayant et agréable à l'œil.... Au total, un avion résolument merveilleux, à la hauteur de ses ambitions, celles d'être parmi les meilleurs liners du marché mondial......
Sauf que c’est pas lui le commandant. Hugo vol sur B77W et n’est pas encore Captain 😂 P’is même si ce Captain n’est pas des plus incroyable , il en reste vachement professionnel, et est avant tout dans la tentative d’aider le copilote à s’améliorer. C’est d’ailleurs sa responsabilité que de parler ouvertement et de se montrer présent. Ça prouve qu’il est attentif. Où l’as tu trouvé ferme ou agressif?
Interressant la remarque du commandant sur les départs US suite au raté de l'instruction de l'ATC de monter à 7000 pieds, du sûrement à la tunellisation vu que le PF demandait en même temps les volets en restant en manuel. Ça me rappelle qu'une fois j'avais vu depuis le cockpit un départ dans le cockpit à Maurice pourtant pas un aéroport saturé. J'étais étonné qu'ils aient mis le PA passé 400 pieds sol. Effectivement, dès que l'ATC pouvait il donnait des directes. Et si le PF est en manuel avec la procédure anti bruit, ça fait beaucoup de tâches en même temps pour le PM. Alors avec le PA, ça évite de rater des trucs vu que le contrôle du MCP revient au PF.

Airbus cockpit design is really strange. Two joysticks at opposite ends, one for the right hand and another to the left hand. From this perspective the Boeing design probably provides a better user experience. Boeing uses yokes, which are mechanically linked to each other, letting each pilot follow through the other’s control manipulations. On Airbus the joysticks are not connected, which was one of the concerns behind the Flight 447 France Airbus crash. I am sure that these things don't matter for a seasoned crew and the philosophy behind both cockpit designs are the reason behind the divergence, Boeing is very mush a progression from aviation principles from early XX.

Question from someone trying to learn: when ATC gave you direct SAVUR you kept hand flying for quite a while after that. Why didn't you just put it in A/P at that time?
In case of issue before V1 (decision speed), the captaiin is the one who will decide if they do a Rejected Take Off, or if they continue the take off. That's why he keeps his hand over the throttles until V1. In case of Rejected Take Off, the captain has just to put the throttles on the iddle , then in reverse position. Maximum breaking will then be automaticaly be activated.
he just complains that the first officer (who is the "pilot flying" on this take off) didn't put the autopilot right after take off as he could have done (didnt said "should have", it's cool to pilot the aircraft by yourself and to train to do so as often as possible to keep practicing). This implies that the pilot monitoring (here, the captain) has way more things to do because the other has to keep its hand on the controls. Therefore he's a bit in a rush, and doesn't like it, so he justs tells his F/O that this cannot be done on a busy US airport. (that's what I understood at least). cheers

si tu écoutes attentivement tu remarques que le PM a dit 351 climb 7000 mais pas assez fort donc l'ATC lui a demandé de redire

Je l’ai pris en février, agréable, neuf et peu bruyant, une superbe expérience. L’atterrissage à Toronto est sympa de même.
