I recommend to use 7-1/4 Kerf 0.059" saw blade with Ebony wood, that will be less of waste.

Hi Jason - I've been thinking about that . I need to clean the shop up first!

That is the biggest problem I have, I can only go so long and then I stop and do a complete clean up.@@DarrellPeartFurnitureMaker

Incredible work. What's your finish process for the mahogany?

      thank you, Ian
In preparation for finishing I sand to 220 grit and to 320 grit on the end grain. I then apply 3-5 coats of Livos Interior Oil Sealer #244 Cocobolo. In between coats I lightly sand with 600 grit

    No riving knife?

If I get into some wood that moves and pinches the blade - I sometimes use a riving knife. Normally though, I leave it off.

How close is pretty close on the caliper for the blade to table parallelism? I have mine down to 0.002 but was wondering what tolerance you tolerate? Was also wondering why you make the cut with the blade so close to the fence vs having the bulk of the piece against the fence and cutting off the 0.25-inch stock off the outer end of the piece?

I'm good with .002 or .003. I have the blade close to the fence so I can get better consistency and accuracy. Otherwise I am re-adjusting the fence for every cut.
