Also, you have to complete all the world levels in hard mode to be able to unlock the boss fight and all of them are around level 4 or more zombies, so by the time you get to zomboss, you should already have at least a bunch of good level 4 plants if not level 5 plants
There’s minecarts on the battlefield. For one attack, Zomboss drives offscreen before charging down a minecart rail. It can be stopped with Plant Food, as usual.

I only just realized that the health bar is not properly aligned to what was displayed in the meter, making it a bit misleading that it still has a big chunk of his health remaining.
I wonder if this boss will appear in the Reflourished mod. I hope it does since its design is epic and the little train robots are cool (even if they are a bit OP).

Well, it's coal after all, and as we know, coal doesn't show that it is in any way damaged until it crumbles to dust (ask any miner), so this is actually pretty accurate.

After that, Talkweb continued to make more designs including several cyclops one, but popcap(the international one) didn't allow the design to pass. This design for the zomboss was only approved recently. You can even see that the carts were remade from icecream truck (the one from kid's day) because it has the same text when you try to plant on it. Still, it was great that this finally came out, as a part of the newest 10th anniversary update. Let's wish that it will be better in the future (btw the Chinese players are rioting about the magic bean event, you might want to mention that if you ever want to make a video on the 10th anniversary update.
He never ended up making a video on that event, so why where the Chinese players rioting? We don't end getting a lot of information the Chinese fanbase of the game here

This ended up getting a lot of alt accounts being created, which caused the server to be slowed down extremely, causing the game to be unstable and crash a lot. This combined with the 10th anniversary realm made it a very disappointing experience for a lot of the Chinese players.
they definitely worked this coal train Zombot off of the Wild West Zombot with the wheels, but the amount of detail and differences is so much that the former part isnt even an issue.
Here are some suggestions of how the Zombot Terror Train (my fan name) could be balanced: 1. The coals could have less health. 2. The little train minions could be defeated upon contact with a plant and don't have an AOE explosion (kinda like Rodeo Legend Zombie). 3. He doesn't jump around as much so not much free damage can be done. 4. The little trains don't have a huge health pool like the coals and can be destroyed if the plants are strong enough (if it's possible). 5. Missiles remain the same so no changes. 6. Overpowered plants (levels included) should be locked out so cheesing the boss isn't possible or there won't be a challenge at all (could also apply to other boss battles as well). 7. This one may not be for balancing but could be a good mechanic to add. Zomboss blows the train whistle before charging straight forward but to balance it out, you will be given more plant food to counter it. If not, use an instant-use plant. That's all of my suggestions for how to balance this boss. If anyone has better suggestions, feel free to comment below.
Regarding the 6th suggestion, suppose that all of your offensive plants are (somehow) overpowered and already max leveled, can you just not play the level then.

Here's an idea, Steam Ages Zomboss would shoot less missiles, 2 on phase one, 3 on phase two, and 4 on phase three. Each missile would create a 3x3 area or cross of steam, (thus incentiving the use of the world's plants.) He shoots fewer coals with lower health, and when he spawns little trains they will act as normal (less damage though) until they touch a hot coal, causing them to explode in a 3x3 area or cross. If they don't touch coal, they will reach the end of the lawn and harmlessly crumble. There would also be manholes for zombie travel around the middle of the 2nd and 4th rows, with two or three tilles between the entrance and exit, breaking up the lawn and creating another area to defend. I think these would be interesting and unique additions to the fight that properly use the plants and gimmicks of the world.

I was hoping there was the charge attack, where the zombot would transform back into the train and push through, but then I remembered the mini-me's were literally the same thing.
I just got a brilliant idea for a bossfight. All of the lawn is just minecarts. You have 1000 sun. No sun producers. The boss sends out attacks like the minecart missiles from wild west and the little trains(but they dont explode in the end). The goal is to beat the boss while preserving as many plants as possible. We could slap a "dont lose more than 5 plants" on top of it, but i dont think we need it with the amount of sun.
Sounds like a micromanaging nightmare that Eclise would have. Moreover, 1000 sun is just simply not enough if you're going for Zomboss. If you want to go for Zomboss, either sunproducers must be allowed (with 1000 starting sun) or give 3000 starting sun. Also, remove the plant loss limit, that just sounds annoying, or make it more generous like "Don't lose more than 20 plants".
I remembered that thjs exists, and with my newly aquired understanding of game development i will make some adjustments. First of all, up the sun amount to 2000. Then, lets talk about the behaviour of the boss. It would do an action two seconds after it finishes its previous action. These actions include: sending out 2-31 trains(uncommon), moving(common), sending missiles to 3-6 rows(uncommon), summoning 1-4 zombies(rare). The summonned zombies will be either four basics, two basics and a cone, two cones or a bucket. If he spawned zombies he will not spawn any more until all of them died. The trains can kill the zombies. The trains go into a random lane that doesnt already have a train. Missiles go into a random pane that doesnt have missiles targeting it. The missiles will always leave a spot open on the tracks, like in the wild west zomboss fight. They will first show a warning for ~4 seconds. That will depend on the amount of rows targeted. Should be barely enough time to move all of the carts into safe spots. When either trains or missiles are on the field, either one cant beactivated until they disappear or despawn or whatever. Edit: forgot to say, we remove the plant limit, but keep the sun producer ban. Maybe i will allow sun bean. Maybe.

This game is truly an anomaly. I don't know why they didn't think having 3 attacks that do the same thing was not a good idea.

Jokes aside, I really like how it looks. I was hoping there was the charge attack, where the zombot would transform back into the train and push through, but then I remembered the mini-me's were literally the same thing.
That would definitely be something Zomboss would respond with

What I find very unfair about this Zombot is when it throws 5 trains at you and destroys all your plants.

I love that despite being a train he’s one of the only cyclops that doesn’t have a charge attack (the mini trains only kinda count)
The Boss Fight with OP plants is surprisingly awesome and you even said that the Aloe was one of the best plants in the game
After 5 yers in development, hopefully, it will be worth the wait!
After playing Altverz, i cannot see maypop as a non manual plant
I just got a brilliant idea for a bossfight. All of the lawn is just minecarts. You have 1000 sun. No sun producers. The boss sends out attacks like the minecart missiles from wild west and the little trains(but they dont explode in the end). The goal is to beat the boss while preserving as many plants as possible. We could slap a "dont lose more than 5 plants" on top of it, but i dont think we need it with the amount of sun.
oh that would be impossible if the boss was zomboss. Plants are expensive, and if the boss sends in zombies, that would just be unfair honestly.
Sounds like a micromanaging nightmare that Eclise would have. Moreover, 1000 sun is just simply not enough if you're going for Zomboss. If you want to go for Zomboss, either sunproducers must be allowed (with 1000 starting sun) or give 3000 starting sun. Also, remove the plant loss limit, that just sounds annoying, or make it more generous like "Don't lose more than 20 plants".
I remembered that thjs exists, and with my newly aquired understanding of game development i will make some adjustments. First of all, up the sun amount to 2000. Then, lets talk about the behaviour of the boss. It would do an action two seconds after it finishes its previous action. These actions include: sending out 2-31 trains(uncommon), moving(common), sending missiles to 3-6 rows(uncommon), summoning 1-4 zombies(rare). The summonned zombies will be either four basics, two basics and a cone, two cones or a bucket. If he spawned zombies he will not spawn any more until all of them died. The trains can kill the zombies. The trains go into a random lane that doesnt already have a train. Missiles go into a random pane that doesnt have missiles targeting it. The missiles will always leave a spot open on the tracks, like in the wild west zomboss fight. They will first show a warning for ~4 seconds. That will depend on the amount of rows targeted. Should be barely enough time to move all of the carts into safe spots. When either trains or missiles are on the field, either one cant beactivated until they disappear or despawn or whatever.
Edit: forgot to say, we remove the plant limit, but keep the sun producer ban. Maybe i will allow sun bean. Maybe.
@@Mr.Eous_Mann This definitely sounds like an actual fun level. Sun bean could be a neat edition as it'd allow more freedom to the player in terms of sun.
Also I am soooo hyped for the renaissaince ages zombot! From teaser like 2years ago it looks like some da vinci's invention.
