We interviewed Paul Heaver (the Han Vigilance player) recently, and he had a lot of positive things to say about his opponent Elizabeth and this event. Thanks for posting these games. They have been really entertaining.
That's awesome! It was great to meet Paul. Unfortunately things did not go extremely well for him at the feature table, but he played great the entire event. The Han Vigilance deck was really cool to see.
The debate about “the right way to play” reminds me of sports debates, while I empathise that control mirrors maybe aren’t premium viewing, they are a viable way to play within the deliberate design of the game, so I get a bit tired of people trying to gatekeep. While I’m not a control player, if it speaks to you, why should I tell you it’s not fair or is boring?
I always appreciate you taking the time to comment and sharing your insight! You have an excellent point for sure. I believe control is necessary for a healthy meta, just as aggro and midrange are also necessary.
Love the variety of deck you are posting!! For a new player like myself I love seeing all the different playstyles and awesome cards!!! Keeep up the amazing work :))))
At 26:58 why didn't the Vader player use Vader's on attack trigger to also kill the Restored Ark as well? Was it just a misplay or was there something preventing it that I'm not seeing?
May I ask what kind of rule set is used because the beginning is different to the one in rule book. They play their resources and then pick two cards. The general rule book says play two resources and then start with the action phase. So as I understand it, we start with four cards after the resources are played. Thanks for the info, and keep it up!
Are you referring to the beginning of the game? If so, you are correct. Each players draws a six card starting hand, resources two of those cards, and then the action phase starts with each player having four cards in hand.
At around 6 minutes (unsure how to add a time marker) th-cam.com/video/Aq4paNdNAIc/w-d-xo.html, Yoda doesn't take the extra 2 damage. Instead Yoda only got 2 damage on it.
I believe Yoda was just missing one damage, correct? Yoda should have had three damage instead of two damage. With this being the case, it ended up not playing a role, because Paul used Yoda to attack Vader. At that point, Yoda gets defeated whether he has the two or three total damage on.
@@NextGenGamingSC I agree, in this case it didn't seem to affect the game, but I noticed that the Han Solo player tends to not put damage tokens when they play. (I was also watching the Han Blue versus Sabine ECL match). Thanks for the reply
As Sawse mentioned, Blake got eliminated by another Greenbine piloted by John Tatta. They were both running the exact same main deck and only had one card different in their sideboard.
This is definitely still a bad habit that a lot of players are trying to get out of. We did have a judge close by if needed. Thankfully this did not affect the outcome of the match.
I don't like the direction this game is going. We only have set one and mid range is none existence. This entire game revolved around removal, spark of rebellion, vigilance and restock.
Boba Green, Han Green and Luke Green are all very viable mid range strategies and have put up some good results. The meta for just one set has been surprisingly open, and there a lot of viable options right now. Unfortunately, a lot of the blue control matchups are hinging on the cards you mentioned.
Aggro cleans out bad players/decks and then loses to competent control decks that don't draw dead. There's a reason there's hardly any Sabine's winning major tournaments.
@@OpiumSamurai Solid point. To be fair though, Sabine had a real chance to win this tournament. There were three Sabine decks in the Top 8, and only one Sabine player stayed to play for the trophy. None of the Sabine decks would have played each other in the Top 8. The semi-final match of Jordan vs Garrett was actually going to be a quarter-final match. I am not sure if you have watched that match yet, but the Sabine deck had a very strong chance of beating Iden had Garrett not forgot about Childsen. With all of that being said, this is not to take anything away from Jordan, because he played fantastic all day and was extremely well prepared for the event. My point is just that Sabine had a real shot at taking down this tournament, and it was unfortunate to not see the entire Top 8 play it out.

How much time did they have per round?
If the last match wasn't so one sided, unlike the two previous... how do they both avoid the loss?
@@goodnoyz They did not have a time limit for the Top 16 matches. There had to be one winner.
Greetings from Germany. I love the commentator !!! Awesome how he sounds so damn professional !
Welcome to the channel! It is so cool to see viewers from all over the world.
I really appreciate the support!
Loving your coverage/commentary of this event! (As a side note, the MetalFab tokens she is using are awesome.)
I am really glad to hear that you are enjoying it!
Those were some awesome tokens for sure!

This just appears to be something that was missed.
Awesome as always. Keep them videos coming 👏🙂.
Thank you, ma'am!
Great commentating and video.😊
Thanks a bunch!
Watching two hard control decks face each other is like watching paint dry.
It can be rough for sure. I tried to make it as exciting as I could!
@@NextGenGamingSC Thanks for putting so much pep into it but my god that was painful to watch! 😂

Elizabeth missed the Vader attack trigger to defeat restored arc when Vader attacked Ezra on game 2
This is very true. Thankfully it did not affect the outcome.
i want to jump into this game so bad
It is a great game!
Paul "threepeat" Heaver is a Star Wars GOAT
It was so cool to hear about his success in X-Wing!
Only one Boba in the top eight! I think Boba and the Sabines could struggle with the Vader and Iden control.
You could certainly be right. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!

Where is Blake??!! He is my favorite player!
Blake ended up 7-1 in the 8 rounds of Swiss and then lost to the mirror match in the Top 16.
@@NextGenGamingSC That’s terrible news :(
Who eliminated Blake's Greenbine?
John Tatta in a Sabine mirror match.
As Sawse mentioned, Blake got eliminated by another Greenbine piloted by John Tatta. They were both running the exact same main deck and only had one card different in their sideboard.
The vador player don't respect the regroup phase.untap before drawing and so always forgot to untap the leader or unit...where is the judge??
This is definitely still a bad habit that a lot of players are trying to get out of. We did have a judge close by if needed. Thankfully this did not affect the outcome of the match.
It’s potentially problematic with more smuggling and in Han decks or any kind of resource manipulation, so a habit worth breaking!
@@obsidiantain Totally agree! I expect it to be cracked down on a bit more once the next set is released.

Second!
I really really want a $20-40 hyper aggro strategy to pound these control decks into the ground, I'm so tired of seeing control Blue anything.
That's completely fair. The blue control decks can be extremely frustrating to play against.
First!
