Despite this being a paid advertisement, I think this could evolve into a really sick series idea. Reviewing card games isn't something that's really done in this space and it'd be really cool for you to maybe once every month or two try out different games and keep a list of your rankings as you go. Try out stuff like Pokemon TCG, Magic the Gathering, their alternate formats like Pocket, Expanded, and Gym Leader Challenge format for Pokemon, or Pioneer, Modern, or Commander for MTG. Plus you've got tons of others like One Piece, Lorcana, Digimon, Weiss Schwartz, Elestrals, there could be plenty of ground to cover.

Been playing since it came out its cool actually playing a game i dont have to take a second mortgage on my home and where the developers listen to the player base and take action quickly i will say the only thing that needs to be worked on is the regional type events but they started this year so some error is expected also being able to play an actual full length game and not just win by a dice roll is nice
I stopped playing card games in 2017, but I can confidently say that *Star Wars: Unlimited* is the complete opposite of *Yu-Gi-Oh!* Everything that drove me away from the game has been addressed here. The interactive gameplay, the absence of endless turns, the accessibility, and the adaptable resource system make it a fantastic experience. I highly recommend it!
Holy based farfa this game is actually so sick. I picked it up earlier this year and have been loving it. Also amazing that there's a functional (and supported) draft format.

One thing i think you missed is that every deck has 2 colors (one for your leader and one for your base) this makes it so you can make different variations of the same deck. Deck building meta goes through so many discoveries per format its really cool
I swapped from yugioh tcg to star wars unlimited a few months ago and haven’t looked back. I love the game so much. The back and forth play is exactly what has been lost in yugioh.
Been greatly enjoying SWU since its release. Feels like a game that's really learned from 30 years of TCG design, while having a lot of flavour wins that take inspiration from other Star Wars media, games included. Really impressed and hope it thrives.
Can't wait for Farfa to play this game as a Separatist using the Battle Droids as fodder for his stronger cards while chat screams "Look he popped da baby bot!"
YES!!! I love Star Wars Unlimited! It is very interactive, it plays smoothly, it's still very strategic and the cards look good 😄 I talked with some of the game designers at the "Spiel" convention in Essen, Germany and they were very nice and I feel like they actually love the game just as much as me & my friends. Opening booster packs never gets boring because of the hyperspace and showcase cards and I love that they try to minimize the amount of plastic. We recently also tried drafting the newest set which was a really nice experience. Thanks for doing this video! I really don't have much to complain. It's good that they do 3 Sets per year - that way the card game keeps being collectable and people don't get product fatigue (which has become a big problem for Magic players - when 3 Sets release in a timespan of 6 Weeks people can't keep up)
This games looks balanced and interactive. The ressource method seems so thought through. Have to give it a try. To me it looks like it took all the good stuff from the other card games and combined it.
A lot of people were turned away from this game at its start but as someone who loves this game, I think FFG has done a really god job balancing and making sure the game is fun to play both casually and competitively (Especially after the boba fett ban).
I really liked the game, pre ordered the first starter deck (luke and vader) and then everything else was scalped, a single booster box was running for almost 200 USD here (our average monthly income is something like 250 USD) so i just gave up
Hey I know this is frustrating. I was frustrated as well. They had low supply on the first two sets when they released. Gamegenic also had low supplies on their Star Wars Unlimited specific products. With the third set they really upped their supply and reprinted the first two sets to keep the game available. I can confidently say it's worth giving the game a try. Most of my friends immediately loved it when they tried it. Only one friend said he didn't like that the players took actions back and forth and that is totally fine. The decks are relatively cheap at the moment compared to Yu-Gi-Oh! and most Magic the Gathering formats.
I like the game’s very back and forth nature. I do one thing, you do one thing. Some of your effects will happen after your opponent does something but it’s still pretty minimal. It creates some really interesting decisions like attacking now, trading cuz there might be a buff coming on a unit, holding removal one more turn, etc.
I got into this game recently since I love Star Wars, but I am still figuring it out...I have not won a single game on a Star Wars Unlimited simulator(Karabast) so far...
I think maul is pretty good, it's quite linear, but in this game, overwhelm/ambush type effects that trade straight to base damage for momentum allow you to progress towards the win while controlling board state. That's a type of card advantage and in SWU where every action opens you to a reaction and the chess like momentum makes being able to act even one action ahead of your opponent a serious strategic advantage
Been playing the SWU TCG for about 4 months and can honestly say it’s so refreshing to play such an interactive card game. Most decks can be built on the cheap when compared to YGO as well which makes playing IRL much more appealing.
I loved set 1 star wars but fell off when set 3 reveals started, I don't like the token generation stuff sadly and set 2 made it too expensive to play as a second game :(
Yes, the game is incredibly balanced and well designed. It’s the best TCG myself and my friend have played and we are addicted! It’s so incredibly fun. Please give it a try everyone. For context: me and my friend who run our channel played YGO for over 7+ years, played MTG for over a year, played Pokemon TCG for over a year, and he has played Bandai games every now and again. This game by far is the most fun and interactive, the company who makes it is communicative and supportive, and always looking out for what’s best for the game. Give it a go!
Pretty much all of my friend group who are long long time yugioh players have stopped playing Yugioh and have been playing Star Wars unlimited since release. The gameplay loop being so interactive and skillful aswell as rewarding deck building with alot of different options. It’s just the most fun any of us have had playing a tcg ever. We are just now starting to get more consistent “regional” level events starting in January so now is actually the perfect time to hop in and learn the game fully if you intend to get into the competitive side.
I’m a huge Star Wars fan so I had to pick this game up. I have all the starter decks for other people to play when they’re over. It’s super easy to learn and teach. Although yugioh is my main tcg, it’s not easy teaching new players how to play haha
Star wars Unlimited is the most genuinely fun to play TCG I've tried, the game is a blast. I also like that you can build a decent deck just from commons/uncommons for cheap, and gradually upgrade with rares/legendaries while still playing reasonably competitively.
SWU is such a fun game! Coming from yugioh the change of pace and interaction is so much fun. Made me start making content on it since it's so enjoyable! They have an online variant called karabast where you can play against other players and it's all free. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy the game or just want to learn it without having to spend any money.
It very much is. Lorcanas is somewhat better in my opinion with some cards being un resourable makes deckbuilding more interesting and resourcing more skillfull. With any card no matter what it kinda takes away the weight of the decision. But still really good.

I do think the thumbnail/title may have hurt this video in terms of views (which is a shame because it’s quite good). I think framing the video as a question of “whether this card game is good” when most of your viewers likely haven’t heard/interacted with it makes it less appealing insofar as said have viewers have no actual reason to care about whether this game is good. I think maybe framing it as a card game that is definitively interesting instead (even if a bit clickbaity) would drive more interaction. I am saying this from the perspective of someone who only watched this video on the side while doing something else, and didn’t originally consider it since I didn’t care much for the game or its critical reception. Of course, I don’t make content for a living or anything like that, so there might be other things I’m missing (like the simple fact that this is a non-yugioh video on a predominantly yugioh channel).
