    We are a Canadian cruising couple, looking for a non mainstream life of living aboard and cruising in the Caribbean in Winter, and the Great Lakes in Summer. Working when we can to fill the cruising kitty. We have sold everything we own, and we now own a cruising boat. In this episode in the Bahamas for the Winter of 2016/2017. We have chosen to do this voyaging under power, instead of the popular sailing route.
    Our mission is to help inspire people to live their dreams earlier in life, instead of waiting until retirement. So often retirement dreams are dashed by health issues, or other unforeseen later life circumstances. If you have a dream, then dream, plan, and do it now. We hope to make you smile, and spark the urning in your heart for fulfilling your dreams.

    Can you provide me some details on your tender? It’s seems small enough but still handles 4 comfortably. I’m in the process of buying a 47 pilothouse and am looking for a good tender.

    Thanks for another awesome video. You guys continue to inspire us. A question for you if I may. We’re looking at a trawler around the same size as yours. We watch a number of other boating TH-cam channels, many of which are sailing channels, and are curious about the relationship between power boaters and sailors? Is there the same type of camaraderie that we often see or do folks keep to their cliques? It would be sad if it’s the later but humans tend to do what humans do. Curious what you’ve experienced now that you’ve spent some time in the Bahamas.

      Thanks for you kind comments Bill. It has been our experience that cruisers are cruisers, and we are all out here together and can call on anybody at any time. With the Happy Hours on the beaches and people dinghying up to your boat to have a chat, we don't see the us vs them between sailboaters and power cruisers. Of course there are cliques from time to time, but for the most part people welcome others into their fold pretty quickly. The only people that seem to keep to themselves are the ones on the Mega Yachts. Not sure why that is, but it is probably because they are not cruisers, they could just be chartering or something. One thing that is special down here is the camaraderie with the locals. Don't hesitate to make friends, they are all beautiful people.

      Hi Guys, thanks for the response. That is what we were hoping. We're looking forward to the opportunity to meet the locals in the different spots we'll visit. Knowing my wife from one dingy trip she'll know the history of each villager and have us invited to some family event! Looking forward to becoming part of the cruiser community! Keep up the great videos. Safe Sailing!!

    Great to see you post again! I missed it 4 days ago. Some friends from Kelowna came down the day y'all posted it and about killed us partying. We are getting too old to stay up til 330am these days. We have to say that your videos are getting so much better and better with the experience you are getting. I mean really good. Some of the best! Keep them coming because we really enjoy them. Drone footage looks great. Sorry bout the splash drone. We are getting pretty excited about the Tollycraft Rendevous! Our 1 year anniversary is 6-20 so we will celebrate that when we get there that Friday on 6-22. Safe travels! I will try to holler on Facebook messenger at Sheldon sometime. Cheers To Sheldon and Cyndi! If you know any people at Rendevous tell them to look for Bret and Talyn! Adios!

    Can you pls tell us what drone and fpv gear that is. Great to see y'all back after all that craziness

    • @SearchingforCShels
      @SearchingforCShels  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure John, and thanks. The Drone is a Swell Pro Splash Drone (first generation). It has a waterproof gimbal on it that takes a GoPro Hero 3 or 4. The fpv is Video Goggles Eachine 5.8G 40 Channels HD FPV Goggles VR-007 VR007. This is all rather old tech now, much better equipment exists.

      Thanks for the lovely comment and question. In the Bahamas our first choice is Aliv. They have an Unlimited plan that is very good. They are only in the Abacos and Eluthras though. In the Exumas and Berrys we go with BTC, which has a 15 GB plan for $30, and you top up as you need. Though there is a dead zone in the Exuma Park area. We have no data issues in the Bahamas, and are able to work remotely without problems. On the Aliv side, we found it better than any provide that we had in the US or Canada. We hope eventually they get throughout the whole Bahamas.
