The Nomad Boat Builder sands his pencils flat on one side. I tried it, and tracing is much much more accurate! Might have saved you some of that half hour on the Thistle.
Excellent idea! Will give that a try. I also use a Japanese marling knife for a REALLY thin reference line but that's not always ideal. Thanks for passing that along, will give it a go sometime.
