Mine is doing the same thing. I happen to have some extra wheels speed sensors and might try just swapping that. This makes a lot more sense than most of those other suggestions you mentioned other people giving. Thank you for sharing this info.

Your welcome. After I changed the wheel speed sensor the problem was gone. I didn’t have anymore problems with it. It’s funny how that sensor caused that problem to happen

Exact same issue on my '00 Tahoe. Just saved me a bunch of money, thanks man!

Most of the time, rust forms under the sensor where it bolts to wheel bearing. This causes the sensor to move away from the the tone ring inside the wheel bearing, sending a false lockup signal to the abs module. Take the sensors out of the new wheel bearing and generously lube them with dielectric grease. This will help keep moisture and rusting issues in the future. Removing and cleaning the front sensors at every brake job is recommended.

Starting to experience the shudder myself after having new tires put on. Just did new brakes and experienced the shudder at first two stops. Did get better the next two and pressure felt better but not enough to confirm it was pads since the others were fine.. Gonna have to look at my sensors now since I have seen my abs light come on before but it went away everytime. New shocks have also been installed. Truck was a rancher if that's any condition clue

The sensor being melted ended up being the problem I had. After changing the wheel bearing with new sensor fixed the problem. I still haven’t figured out what made it melt but my guess is the wires inside it got hot and created it to melt.

@@iluvmud3462 pulled my sensors and cleaned but no go. Still shudders but not as bad. I do notice my speedometer chills out about 5-10 mph when it happens before going to 0.

I’m thinking one of your sensors on your wheel bearings is bad and is confusing the computer. That’s what mine did. I replaced them both because at first I wasn’t sure which one it was at first. With those trucks the computer is extra sensitive and will get confused easily

It feels like the break system is shutting down but then I get control again

I have a 2004 Silverado ss and my truck does the same thing but the pedal doesn't go to the floor and it didn't cause a code.

Charlie tucker after I changed the wheel bearings the brake pedal went back to normal and I haven’t had a problem with the brake system since. I never found out why the ABS sensor melted but I’m glad I haven’t had that problem again. I just recently put a new motor in the truck and in a week or so I’ll be putting that video up and explaining why
