I just want to thank you wholeheartedly as you just saved me a ton of money. My daughter was in another state and her Jeep suddenly did a no start when she came out of a store. She tried jumping it and nothing worked. I got her car towed to a Jeep service center and they first tried a battery and then said it was probably a starter. Meanwhile I looked for a video how to replace the starter in the 2.4 Multiaire motor and found your video. After watching I got in my truck with some tools and drove to Iowa I grabbed the jumper cables and went from the negative terminal to a exhaust manifold bolt and she fired right up. Went to O'Reilly's bought a battery cable, grounded it to a ground block on the body, and then over to a bolt on the heat shield over the exhaust manifold and its worked perfectly since. Thank you!

Just found this same issue. Had a no start with three engine codes. U110A, P0443, U0131. I tested battery which was good. Then just went from negative to block with jumper cable with instant start. I put a battery cable from a bracket on block to a new hole drilled by where driver strut is. I removed paint and bolted. Starts every time now. I almost changed starter also.

Try jumper cable directly from the battery. Negative to a solid metal point on the engine. The next time it just clicks. You shouldn't have to try the relays.

I really think it's something like this with me. Do you think where you did the ground cable on the power steering pump is the same for a 3.2 limited cherokee. Intermittent starts, but always starts on a jump. Had battery tested twice. Went to change battery as it reads 10. 2 to 11 amps on the dashboard after a failed start or two attempt. Which i think would cause the slight drain. lights dim and get about a 1 amp drop when using power windows while car is running. Lots of fluctuating amps on the dash. Going to try the relay trick and jumper from negative to engine block tomorrow. Thank you for the info and possible ideas. The wife hates the fact i need to use her car lol. Plus i don't wear it well.

The two main issues with this Jeep is that everything under the sun is electronic on this jeep including the transmission and if it had a toilet on board, it would be electronic too and would tell you how many boats you left in the harbor also.
Ok, I spoke of the problem, now for the main problem, the battery terminal connectors are the shittiest ones ever made. I wouldn’t put these pieces of sh+t terminal connectors on a riding lawn mower because they are of the worst design possible and I can’t believe someone was paid to design these POS cables!
Because of these poorly designed battery terminal connectors, batteries only last two years if you’re lucky.
So this last time, I bought a new battery and cut two 12” lengths of 12ga awg copper wire and stripped off the plastic installation except one inch on both ends.
Before putting the cables on, I wrapped the bare copper wire around the base of the battery terminals, thread it through the crappy terminal lugs and then pulls them tight to the 10mm bolts on top of the terminal lug connecters before tightening.
I also added a 12 VOLTS LEAD ACID BATTERY DESULFATOR Revival Rejuvenating Battery Life Extender and connected to the battery. They run about $24-$26 each but worth every penny.
Plus I added a LED light bar and a 50 watt tri band Ham radio, which I added an extra positive and negative ground to the inside drivers fender where there is an existing grounding bolt attached from the factory.
Just remember, everything is electronic and you should inspect these connection points quarterly. Keep spare wire, jumper cables, wire strippers and a pair of needle nose pillars along with extra fuses.
It also has a weird cooling system also, so carry extra coolant and water for “Just In Case.” I hope this helps other fellow Jeep owners. 👍

Sorry to hear that. It may be that you lost the ground to the motor when you changed the motor mount. Did you try a jumper cable from the negative to a solid metal part of the motor? You also may have not plugged the fuse box back in properly. I am of course just guessing. Best of luck to you.
