I love King Crimson. It doesn't make sense when you first meet it, makes sense when you think about it a little, then stops making sense when you think about it a little more
I just love the idea that even several years after beating him Giorno’s gang still have zero clue on how Diavolo’s Stand worked or how GER defeated it, so they decided to host a conference of as many people in the know about Stands as they can find in case they ever have to deal with an ability that bullshit again.
I also enjoy thinking about why this conference even has to happen in the first place, besides the ability just being that confusing. My headcanon is that Giorno is thinking about releasing Diavolo from the infinite death loop so that he can use it on Pucci to stop the acceleration of the universe, and the conference exists so that just in case Diavolo SOMEHOW figures out a way to not be dead after that, they can know every weakness of the ability and defeat Diavolo without necessarily needing GER. Of course, the conferences would take so long and devolve into so much chaos like this one that they're still arguing about it during the events of Part 6.
@@SmithyLK giorno: hey diav i got you out of the death loop so we can understand how does your ability exactly works Diavolo: ok well (time skipped) and thats how it works HUH?! I didnt even skip time what happened Giorno: i dont know
I couldn’t help but laugh at Rohan’s “what if he wore clothes with small sharp objects” because _Rohan himself is wearing clothes with small sharp pen tips!_
Pulling out a stand implies that he's looking for a stand fight over this, pulling out the strap implies that he will just straight up kill you if you continue
I love how Rohan always points out the contradictions because he's a manga artist who wants to perfect his stories and make them consistent with themselves.
not to mention as a manga artist he'd understand that perspective best regardless of his perfectionism. He'd understand when a manga artist would sjut do something because its cool rather than because it made sense in relation to later chapters the artist hadn't even written yet.
Personally, I see nothing wrong with the idea that skipping through time could allow Diavolo to walk through walls, it's just there's no point in the story where he needs to do this so we never see it. I don't believe that he can't move through walls just because they "don't have a soul", as Emporio's ability in part 6 proves that all physical items in the Jojo universe have a soul. Speaking of Part 6, the reason why Diavolo doesn't fall through the floor when he uses time-skip is because gravity doesn't exist in skipped time. A main theme of Part 6 is that gravity is a form of fate and King Crimson is a stand about defying fate. Therefore, it makes Diavolo immune to gravity while he's using its ability.
honestly it's a good question, I think it's more he cannot interact with Stands/people, hence why Aerosmith's bullets passed through him. I'm still not precisely sure on this theory with all the bodyswap shenanigans by Chariot Requiem, but that's my understanding of the power.
PLEASE give us more Giorno and Rohan arguing over stand mechanics. There’s so many stands they could argue about and it’s so funny, you totally understand these characters and it’s so funny because I feel like this is actually how this argument would go between them! You’re so talented!
One thing that I really love about this series of videos is that although they’re silly, everyone is still pretty in-character. Giorno is composed until he has to repeat himself and then starts steadily losing his patience, Rohan is an insufferable know-it-all, Koichi is guileless and respectful but also observant and likes to think of his friends, etc. Love that
@@filipvadas7602 for example the thing with bruno seeing his future/past self always stuck in my craw, especially since the manga atleast makes it look like Bruno was tricked into killing himself by Diavolo's silly trick.
The way Rohan argues against Giorno really shows how he thinks like a storyteller (being a mangaka and all). Rohan's points mostly come from a Doylist perspective (the perspective of the author of a story, fitting since people often consider Rohan to be Araki's author avatar), while Giorno's come from a Watsonist perspective (the perspective of the in-universe characters). This also makes sense because Rohan never met Diavolo and is far removed from GW while Giorno is, well, the main JoJo of said part (though Giorno's personal interactions with Diavolo was minimal, they still share a dynamic as they're both part of Passione and are basically hunting each other).
@@chasecole6794 they’re nice terms. For a quick explanation, it refers to two figures related to the Sherlock Holmes stories. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was the author of the Sherlock Holmes stories. So a Doylist explanation looks at how the story looks from the author’s perspective. Doctor John Watson is Holmes’s companion and friend in the stories, and the viewpoint character who is usually the one Holmes explains his deductions to. So a Watsonian explanation looks at the story from the perspective of a character in that story.
This is true. I love how you have this huge, complex video about an ability that makes less sense the more you think about it only for Rohan to go "just don't overthink it lmao" at the end
I like how Koichi and Rohan both find it ludicrous to believe that Diavolo was complacent enough with his incredibly powerful baseline ability as to not think up that many creative applications for it. Y’know, since they’re both friends with OKUYASU, who uses his ability to ERASE PHYSICAL MATTER to make him better at punching things.
Well, Okuyasu isn't the brightest bulb, meanwhile Diavolo was an outright criminal mastermind, so they were probably holding Diavolo to a different set of standards.
@@nickkelley9139However it is a pattern that, by and large, people with strong stand abilities tend to get complacant with their power and don't think outside of the box with it, and those with weaker abilities tend to be so creative you'd think there was no box
It makes sense that Diavolo uses his powerful time deletion powers in a simple method. He's a mobster, a criminal who sees every problem as a nail that needs hammering. He could have killed his daughter after Bucciarati dropped her off but instead he does the deed right in front of him, sparking his mutiny.
@@Emily12471 It's kind of like what people think David and Goliath was (david and goliath was actually a story about a guy bringing a gun to a fistfight but dont worry about it)
@@nickkelley9139Let's not ignore the fact that the two stand users in question are at the opposite ends of the creativity spectrum. Echoes isn't that powerful, yet Koichi barely finds new applications Rohan has tried infinite things off screen, and is complacent after doing so. YET THEY STILL HAVEN'T MADE OKUYASU SMART
This is like every long conversation ive had with people about King Crimson slammed into one. Diavolos fated actions, the blood splattering thing, people trying to diminish jojos writing with the "either you have to do the BORING thing like PAY ATTENTION to your rules or you look at the pretty colors". Its amazing how you simulated it all so well. King Crimson conversations are really fun
You don’t need to not pay attention to understand that arguing a stand’s abilities based on things that don’t happen is redundant You can pay attention to a piece of media without arguing based on weapons and things that don’t exist and never happen
@@unionjack0638 I think its a good hypothetical point they were making. If you dont make shit super clear, you can go to the extreme and just say if my guy has a gun, he can shoot a bitch in skipped time.
I love the fact that Giorno has slides even for when he pretends to be caught off guard or when other characters are asking questions/making arguments, he was prepared for everything.
I think the soul being a restriction for what he can interact with makes sense and the reason Aerosmith’s bullets pass through him is because a stand is a manifestation of the soul and therefore all parts of it are parts of a soul, including the bullets.
You bring a up a good point but if the bullets are part of his soul doesn't that mean he's losing parts of his soul cause it's not like he takes the bullets back, ok this is irrelevant I just think it's an interesting point to bring up
@@gear_head2286 stand power is sometimes a thing. So it’s possible that overusing Aerosmith could be bad for Narancia, but he never uses it to that extent in the story. Possibly he just needs to rest after shooting enough bullets.
@@gear_head2286It’s possible that Aerosmith indirectly creates life when shooting bullets similar to when Golden Experience creates plants and animals. However these bullets are just simply bullets, so they have no other special properties besides being a bullet while possibly containing a life source equivalent to a soul. It’s also possible that King Crimson inverts the “stands can only damage stands” concept in which during skipped time only real things can harm it. That or simply because it requires Diavolo to stand in place to phase through projectiles or to “skip” the part where the bullets pass through Diavolo and into the ground.
The base itself is not that hard, it is the little details that are hard to explain because we don't see the scenes so we need to theorise based on what is shown elsewhere as Araki wanted to keep Diavolo an Enigma. BUT the main reason why it is hard is because of the huge amount of blatant misinfo that exists about KC that many fans still believe and fans that forget or don't pay attention that then spread their misinfo. In reality, KC is actually one of the most consistent Stands judging his ability. Believe me, I analysed the crap out of it. The problem tho is that it rests on imagining how certain scenes play out, so there is always a bit of plausible/consistent headcanon IF you want to explain every single detail that is not shown directly in a scene.
@@mordraug6662it's not very consistent if you need headcanon to explain it. Especially if these headcanons contradict the explanation given by the author, like with Bruno's reaction to Trish's abduction or gang's reaction to Narancia's death
It's not just King Crimson that's complicated, it's the very nature of time travel that makes it prone to extreme complications and/or excessive paradoxes.
I love how Rohan's only role is not only to be a personification of people who still dispute KC's ability, but also just a general heckler (which is kinda in-character for him).
Also, because he's a manga artist, he prefers to give more meta answers, from a perspective of someone who knows how to write a story, like when he said that King Crimson's powers don't really have to make sense all of the time as long as they fit the narrative and make for a good scene.
@@BoromcioStudiya, the real issue in a show where tactical cleverness is so central, the rules not making sense takes off a lot of the weight to the battles.
Its in character, and perfectly believable that due to a blend of uncreativity, stupidity, and COCKINESS above all things, that diavolo didnt use these strategies. Uncreativity to use the ability, stupidity to not realize the implications of SKIPPING TIME, and cockiness to believe that you dont need to think about it much because HELLO, YOU CAN SKIP TIME ITSELF, YOU ARE SKIPPING TIME AND AVOIDING LITERAL GUARANTEED FATE!! Some mafia boss who gets in way over his head with time skip powers could absolutely be seen saying hell just work with his time skipping powers without working it all out. We could see this in dio constantly taking half-measures or cutting what he should do short because he had absolute and total belief in his control over the situation thanks to an ability in the same vein of being able to outright STOP time and do whatever he feels like within it. In fact, if it werent for giorno puncturing himself and getting his good ol requiem abilities, diavolo had a more than fair shot at beating our friends It was those mistakes: that stupidity, that uncreativity, that cockiness in his ability to defy fate outright creating the belief that there was never any need to fully flush out and figure out his capabilities that in turn manifested the One Thing that could stop him
A perfect showcase and culmination of all of this was his brief bout with GER. Even as giorno gains requiem abilities, diavolo immediately tries to utilize his king crimson to quickly take him out. Even approaching something new and unknown, something with abilities he doesnt know, that he CANT know in the slightest, and even despite seeing and being a victim of the potential earlier shown by Req. Chariot, he moves in. There was not a second- not a thought in his mind, not a split second of belief that epitaph could be denied, that fate could be changed by anyone but him. He didnt need to change anything, even against requiem, he was too powerful to be stopped! He believed abject invincibility was the nature of his stand, and nothing and no one could change that. Until there was.
I love how this is one of the most concise explanations on King Crimson there is and it still manages to get across how confusing King Crimson is even with explanation
@@obsessiveoccaltmaniac8783On paper with minimal digging into it, yeah it's pretty simple. That's.. The whole thing Rohan is going on about. Giorno is focused on the excruciating details of the stand, making it far more difficult for him to understand.
13:16 Diavolo CAN in fact, walk through walls. Proof: when Bucciarati brought Trish up the elevator in San Giorgio Maggiore, Diavolo retrieved Trish in skipped time from under the elevator - while the elevator is moving. The elevator is a rectangular prism: it has 3 walls, a floor, a ceiling, and a pair of automatic sliding doors programmed to be closed while the elevator is in motion. If Diavolo cannot walk through walls, Diavolo can’t retrieve Trish from a basically sealed container. Therefore, Diavolo CAN walk through walls.
Trish, however, cannot pass through walls. Additionally, as it can be assumed that Diavolo was only ready to catch Trish after she was retrieved by Diavolo's fate, passing through the wall makes no sense, since it would have to be done without using the unique properties of the time skip.
The stand bullets thing actually makes sense, because stands are the manifestation of the fighting spirit, and therefore definitely count as having souls. Thus the bullets from Aerosmith, which are never reloaded, are generated by the stand, unlike Mista's bullets which are real bullets, hence why diovolo has to dodge them.
i think the bullets had a destined destination a wall does not move and a body cannot cross a not moving object a falling wall have a destined destination and thus the fall can be skipped and Diavolo can dodge the said fall if the wall were to fall on Giorno and Diavolo if KC time skipped Diavolo would not have been damaged but Giorno would have. remember thats the case only if Diavolo can defy its own fate via KC. if not nothing would make sens.
Pretty sure he reloads then, and several times at that. The one that stuck me the most is when Mista sleeves off his iconic hat a bit and, from there, six bullets fall into the gun neatly.
@@ericjustehernandezyou say pretty sure he reloads but don't explain how? I have seen the first golden wind part a couple days ago and in all the episodes aerosmith was fighting it didn't reload even once. Was continously chasing the miniguy in the sewers etcetera without stopping to reload once and it was also never stated he had to reload. It only stopped shooting when narancia thought he killed the guy. But there were many rats in the sewer and the radar was co2 seeking based and had to continiously shoot numerous multiple bullets immediatley after every ratkill. So i think you're wrong about this one.
I think I actually understand King Crimson LESS than I did before now. EDIT: This was a comedic exaggeration. I knew and still know how King Crimson's power operates.
well, i explained a few moments earlier up in the recent comments, i hope that will help a bit. if you have questions, dont reply in here, reply in the previously mentioned comment.

This actually felt like a very short 25 minutes. I have a newfound respect for people who don’t understand King Crimson, there are some bizarre outliers in certain examples I’ve never thought about, ESPECIALLY the elevator scene.
For the elevator Imma just assume he got really lucky and skipped to RIGHT when Bruno looked back at the elevator Also KC has been shown to be shockingly fast, so yada yada speed and fate and cool ability
Either what the other person said, or I'd just say that it made a cool scene so it made it in despite all the cope you'd have to go through to believe that to have been the same ability.
@@lemmonboy6459 Luck probably had little to do with it. There's no rule saying King Crimson needs to be acting for ten whole seconds no more no less. With Epitaph he'd know ahead of time the right moment to stop to get Bruno in the same place
@@Poldovicoi need someone to have written a fan fiction where every time jotaro comes up against another stand user he just goes "so it's the same type of stand as star platinum" and immediately gains their ability
This was so much better than I ever expected from the prompt "Giorno explains King crimson" The Koichi segment and Giorno's reaction had me laughing out loud
I was kinda expecting the framing device to get in the way of the explanation for sake of a few jokes, but instead the video used these characters we are familiar with to represent different points of view that enhance the presentation Multiple explanations for a single question are easier to follow when they are presented through the fiction of an argument. Had the writer of this video presented all of this with just one voice it would have come off as dishonest or confused
The surprise inclusion of another Giorno for a more comprehensive analysis, and the fact that it was all done in a canoncially possible way, made the video reach a whole new level for me
23:55 I mean, to be fair, diavolvo restriction is that he can only skip time untill 10 seconds, not that he has to skip time untill 10 seconds. So a valid explanation of this could be that , since the elevator roof isn't even in the manga, Bruno DID have a reaction to diavolo going in to take Trish, then looked to the side to maybe try to find a way to stop the elevator, only for diavolo to time his ability right at the moment he's fully looking over to basically make him forget that he saw diavolo(or in this case, fated diavolo) in the first place King crimson also technically has the ability to make people forget about what would happen in the 10 seconds skipped so that could also explain turtlereff stairs scene and abacchios boat scene, both of them would be the one to attempt something very in character, no autopilot, but had that action technically be cancelled due to diavolos correct time skipping/ memory erasing
yesss exactly what I was thinking. Diavolo is actually an insidious YTP genius, and the elevator scene’s precision cut is an example of his sentence mixing talent. Bruno staring at the wall could have been the briefest moment in him scanning the room in reaction to the boss’s ambush, and Diavolo skipped to that point to create the illusion of Bruno being unaware a body was severed from the hand he was gripping. The animation of the time skips in their later fight in the basement tracing SF’s punches frame-by-frame from KC’s perspective drives this point home for me. Yes, the time skip limit is 10 seconds, but I don’t think KC is necessarily on a 10 second in-universe timer to make actions during skips-he can be deliberate and precise as he watches fate play out in slower than slow-motion.
i actually do like the explanation that he can stop skipping time early if he needs to, i swear he actually says he's going to resume time at some point
I absolutely love the dynamic of Giorno and Rohan having a civilized debate to explain more about any plot holes. Also, the only in-depth look at King Crimson I have seen so far. Good job!
@@stegosandrosos1291 I know! But he also has an entire series on JoJo misconceptions and I’m just recommending a good channel This video is good, no doubts

There's a distinct possibility that Bruno was looking at the elevator wall because he was about to use Sticky Fingers on it, and he was listening for which side of the elevator Diavolo would be on. The fact that he doesn't have Sticky Fingers out for this action is strange, but it's at least a *half* reasonable explanation.
@@notme8232That implies that King Crimson is a very fast stand which is able to avoid Bruno within a maximum of 10 seconds. Of course it’s possible that King Crimson can reach these speeds but so does Sticky Fingers and Bruno’s reaction time to similar attack speeds (Golden Experience). It is possible that Bruno returns to that position once skipped time is over and did not realized that he reacted to King Crimson or Fate Diavolo grabbing Trish, which is possibly why Diavolo decided to do it after using Epitaph.
the issue is that bruno couldn't HEAR diavolo entering the elevator, and couldn't HEAR a hand being slashed off, and couldn't FEEL the limp hand falling due to gravity. and he also somehow didn't see a grown ass man moving in his peripheral vision (maybe this one can be explained based on where he looking, idk, but still)
The answer is simply that we're seeing the shot from Bruno's perspective and that the elevator has multiple walls that look the same. If Bruno turned to look in the direction that Diavolo came from, he would likely be facing a wall that looks identical to the one he was already looking at, so he wouldn't think it's a different wall. And because the audience shares the same perspective as Bruno during this scene, there's no reason for the audience to see Bruno turning, as Bruno himself does not believe he has turned after forgetting everything that happened during the time skip. JoJo does stuff like this a lot, so it's a completely reasonable explanation.
Nah, Giorno prepared all the slides himself, even for Rohan's and Koichi's interruptions, everytime he forgot a slide, he just activated GER and then created the slide
so if the first trilogy of JoJo had simple stands, second trilogy has complex stands, then the third trilogy must have stands that are impossible to comprehend Edit: IVE READ PART 8 I KNOW WHAT IM SAYING
Pretty much. We went from muscle man that punches really hard; to rainbows that make you think you're turning into a snail; to an old man that looks like a child having to bury a lego set of the White House in order to change the air pressure...
A lot of the "well, can Diavolo do ?" questions can be explained pretty easily: "He may never have tried to do that. We don't know, because he doesn't know."
I think he was just over confident with his "skip time and get behind for a sneak attack" strategy so he didn't experiment with his stand to do things we consider like the spear discussion in this video.
@@Specsboy1999 It could very well be a result of his obsession with staying invisible, not leaving any possible trace behind for someone to find out about his existence and identity. If he were to randomly pick up sharp or heavy objects and throw them at his enemies he could easily leave evidence behind like blood splatter, hair and skin tissue. The reason he decides to blind Polnareff and Giorno with his blood might be out of desperation, as up until Diavolo kidnapped Trish, things were always in his favor without any hiccups. It could also have been overconfidence, but it's more likely he was careful NOT to get cocky as he knew it would eventually fail
I was kinda wondering if Giorno would say something like "well he's not here anymore, so you're clearly overestimating his intelligence if you think he thought to do any of that"
This video explains this really well and actually perfectly alligns with what I knew KC does. It's not really a hard concept. Questioning is good but sometimes Jojo fans question things that are useless and get confused themselves.
I feel like the soul thing still works, because Stands are regularly described as the manifestation of someone's fighting spirit/soul, and that's how damage to someone's stand will cause damage to them (depending on stand type, but the default is it _does_ reflect). This would also make sense as to why Aerosmith can phase through him, whereas he has to dodge Mista's bullets, since Sex Pistols control the bullets rather than being the bullets.
One could argue that it's whichever one he feels like. Didn't he dodge Sticky Fingers' punches during his fight with Bruno, when he could've just sat and watched them phase through him?
@@dinoboi7756 Because he wanted to weave. Also wasn't bruno's fate all messed up in the first place because of mista? That could also explain the elevator scene.
And not to mention what people can and can't see is completely determined by what is and is not a stand ability. Stand bullets exist (I think) and I believe this because in part 3, Hol Horse points his gun at someone and they can't see it because they're not a stand user. If the bullets weren't part of the stand, the person would be able to see the floating bullets but not Hol Horse's gun.
@@AGC915 Yeah, I can confirm the bullets in The Emperor are part of the stand, because I don't remember the exact phrase but he mentions it as why he can control the bullets to swerve or boomerang if they miss. It's part of the scene with Avdol.
For the spear thing, there is actually an answer given in the text, it's just through character instead of through action in the story. While we are never told that Diavolo can't use spears or knives or whatever weird pointy object you want to use in the example, we are shown many times the person of Diavolo, how he thinks, and how he reacts to things going on around him. There is only one time in the entire story (as far as I remember at least) where Diavolo has a moment to reflect on a difficult fight before the final showdown. This is his fight with Risotto. Diavolo had the opportunity to recognize that even with Epitaph, Doppio was struggling against Risotto. However, since it wasn't HIM fighting, he felt as though he could have simply won the fight regardless. And to an extent, he's completely correct. The time he gets to use time skip, Risotto dies. Diavolo has a massive ego which gets in the way of being able to grow as a fighter (on top of him being the kind of person to avoid fighting at all costs, meaning his competence with King Crimson in battle was rather low). People need to keep in mind, Diavolo is NOT DIO. DIO is always looking for new things he can do, he's pushing his limits to further his status as the best so that nobody could dream of challenging him. DIO always believed there was a higher state to reach because of his Heaven plan. DIO knew that he wasn't at his peak yet and was striving for a way to get there. Diavolo, however, ALWAYS thought he was the pinnacle of creation. He believed that there was no way to keep moving up aside from the arrow, an item he required rather than a method or a way of thinking. It's like how someone might lose in a video game and blame hardware instead of recognizing they aren't #1 in the world. Also Aerosmith is a manifestation of Narancia's soul, his bullets are part of the soul, so there's that too. Either way, minor character analysis of Diavolo kinda solves more issues than I thought it would, but hey, that's the fun of it.
Ngl, I like to think Aerosmith was originally able to shoot 2 people dead at the same time by shooting through Diavolo to Risotto. The soul thing is still making sense tho.
Also maybe the reason he doesn't like to use weapons is because fingerprints he might leave on them. Remember he's hyper-paranoid about people finding out who he is. Dunno why he didn't just use gloves though
@@samueljo7910 might be taking too much time for being a stand user? Considering most stands are like light speed depending on how quick thinking of every stand user.
Something to add to the 'he thinks he's too perfect to innovate' thing. He sucks himself off after stealing polnirff's idea to use blood to negate timeskip. So he doesn't even just think he's above innovating on himself, he doesn't even come up with ideas on how to without stealing them from others.
Idk if this counts but he is shown to have a very good iq and understand of his ability, although he is arrogant and has an ego. I dont think he would be stupid enough not to test it out to see what would happen, we're talking about the same guy that figured out how sliver chariot requiem works despite how confusing it was shown at first. And with the elevator it could be that bruno just didnt notice trish was gone despite how ridiculous that may sound, it is the only logical explaination outside of keep tampering with evidents about kc.
For the wall thing: I'd assume the only way he could make a movement in time is if that movement is a physically possible place for him to be. Within the time that is skipped, there is no possible scenario where he manages to walk entirely around the wall and end up on the other side, thus, skipping that amount of time WOULDN'T permit him to bypass that wall. With the bullets, he IS physically able to be in that spot, so all the time before that is erased and he ends up in his own FATED position.
This video sums up Jojo and Araki's writing, as well as the fan discourse surrounding it perfectly. It shows precisely why that even a seemingly simple ability becomes endlessly confused within the community. You can never tell if Araki has just lost it, and is wildly inconsistent. Or if he is actually a genius connecting all the dots the whole time. I think that dichotomy is exactly why I love the series. HOW DOES KING CRIMSON WORK
I think it's more that a lot of fans try to, for lack of a better phrase, CinemaSins a story to death by nitpicking each and every detail, or as Koichi and Rohan do in this animation bring up completely random examples or hypotheticals that do nothing but confuse the conversation anymore. Araki's not flawless with his powers but it's very apparent he didn't expect people to overanalyze the idea of "skipping time". He started and stopped at "Part 5 is mostly a discussion about how fate works in Jojo"
@@SylentVoidkeeper (death spoilers part 5 but ya know) What you said about fate is absolutely true. I see part 5 as a story that cares a lot about it’s themes. King Crimson is frequently described as “skipping to the result”, and it’s elaborated why that’s so bad in Abacchio’s death scene when he sees his partner again. A man who may never see the results of his investigation, but that continues to seek out justice anyway because as long as he’s working towards it, he’s always moving closer to that ideal. And that’s what life is about, not the results. So while my only real question about King Crimson is whether he can ACTUALLY hurt people within skipped time or not, those scenes where he seemingly does become much easier to swallow thinking about it as just skipping to those results, like what the video and numerous others say about “fate Diavalo.” After all, if Diavolo intended to do that, and everyone saw him do it, by skipping time he skips to the result with no work done. And he avoids the consequences of all the characters who would have certainly witnessed it because they don’t have any of the memories of the event after skipped time.

I kinda had a question about this. Rohan style: basically from what i know it isnt implosion it is ceasing to exist. If girono was ceased to exist his stand wouldn’t activate and if it did provent the ceasinf to exist. No one would see it it would have just never happened right?
@@KeepitasceretWell, I’m by no means an expert, but from the depictions I have seen, the people imploded visibly dissolve into menger sponges, which could theoretically be reversed by GER.
It depends on how far you think GER habilities could undo things, since it is vague enough to not have a clear limit, what if, erase from existence is counted as an attack?
I think it would be more accurate to say annihilated rather than imploded, as Valentine's D4C ostensibly simulates a particle colliding with its anti-particle. Resulting in the complete, however not instant, eradication of both. GER should be able to halt and undo near anything save it doesn't happen literally instantly, and even with stuff that does happen instantly that doesn't guarantee GER wouldn't be able to stop it. GER works by manipulating reality on an ontological level and prevents things from ever truly happening by reverting all things to 0. If you were to think of throwing a punch as going from 0, standing still, to 1, your fist connecting with something GER stops you from ever being able to reach 1. No matter what is done, regardless of any actions anything can be reverted to 0.
I like how of ALL THE CHARACTERS... Rohan was the one to bring up the possibility that "Araki Forgot" was something that happened with King Crimson. Good attention to detail Reverie!
It's poetic justice. "Heaven's Door" being used in an elaborate metaphor/conceit via textual analysis as an examination tool to determine authorial intent.
I love how lore accurate Rohan is. Of course he would read the pamphlet and pick apart issues with the power set based on realistic scenarios. In universe he would consider all of that before he finished inking one page of his own manga.
I DID IT!!! I FOUND OUT HOW KING CRIMSON WORKS!!! time skip is like time stop that lets you reposition yourself but not interact with surroundings and if combined with epitaph it lets him do the thing where he repositions himself while skipping time
>Use Epitaph >Favorable fate within 10 seconds? If no, use King Crimson to skip forward that's basically it. The inconsistencies are basically Araki deciding that "it's more interesting this way" even if it seemed nonsensical at times
This is the best explanation of King Crimson I’ve ever seen. Not only is the humor absolutely PEAK, but it legitimately made me understand King Crimson more than I did before. Your power only grows Viva, well worth the wait and I can’t wait to see which script comes out next!
22:00 perhaps Bruno’s fated action was going to be to open a zipper on the wall so he could follow the boss but as soon as the time skip ended he forgot all about that
@@Emily12471wouldn't him looking around implies that Trish still dissapeared suddenly? if Diavolo burst through to take her, Bruno would still be looking at Diavolo, bcuz why wouldnt you? When someone suddenly burst through and took someone that was holding your hand you look at the culprit
@@biowbe4522 Perhaps King Crimson escape route was unclear, so he was looking to make a route to find him with Sticky Fingers, but when the time skip ended he had no clue he was going to
I'm surprised he didn't get Dio to handle it. Guy has more experience doing time-related bullshit AND wouldn't hesitate to just drain anyone who questioned him.
Honestly this video is the best guide on King Crimson I've ever seen. I've seen plenty, and even though the basics (what's needed to understand the story) are easily understandable, the details (what helps up understand the "what-if" questions) are the killer here. I feel like both Rohan and Giorno have an understandable point here. Rohan simply believes the spectacle and movement of the story are what really matters, and that the ability isn't meant to be looked into too hard. Giorno believes that looking into the ability too hard is integral to understanding what all someone can or can't do, allowing for better, more complex abilities in the future. While both sides are flawed in their own ways, I wholeheartedly believe that both sides *not only* hold merit, but are both simply correct ways of looking it. The "point" of the discussion of "How the heck KC work?" isn't to simply be a contrarian or to argue against each-other, it's to help people understand it better. And although the "what-if" scenarios are an important and though-provoking exercise, (much like the video itself) these what-ifs drown out the basic information and abilities that some people genuinely are unable to grasp. All-in-all, this video is great at not only outlining why this topic is so complicated, but also the issues that come up whenever anyone tries to sort it out. An amazing video, Viva Reverie. May you continue making amazing content. 🙏
It's a Doyalist vs Watsonian argument; Explaining story beats and plot elements (particularly contradictions in this case) with either an out of universe explanation (Doyalist) or an in universe explanation (Watsonian)
I'm going to imagine an alternate reality where Diavolo does, in deed, use spears. He just has them hidden literally everywhere around him at all times, and he's able to pull them out at whim. It's so consistent and unexpected that everyone thinks it's a stand ability until one day they just start finding spears stuck into bushes, or painted to look like tree branches.
As someone who's only exposure to JoJos is literally just your really really fast series, this is still a very entertaining video. Maybe I'm just a nerd who likes detailed comedic explanations of things, but this is still a fun video even with very little knowledge of the source material
At the end, I think Rohan is right. Araki liked how strong Dio's ability was and how much you could do with it so he tried to recreate that terror of someone being able to stop time. But he obviously didn't want to just copy the ability. So he tried to come up with something that is very similar, but different enough, not realising that some aspects wouldn't work anymore. I mean, even Pucci has basically the same ability at the end. He just gets very very fast but ultimately, it's the same thing Dio does, because from his perspective the others are barely moving. And while I think Araki can have moments of brilliance, I also think people really overrate him especially when it comes to terms of foresight with abilities. He is not afraid to change them on the fly if he thinks something works better as he keeps writing. And that has its pros but also cons.
A Video on Puccis numerous stand Evolutions would be amazing.. especially the Part with the Dolphins was so weird :P But i think he deserves a break after this Mammoth of a Video.
yeah this is basically my stance on araki: he's not an amazing writer and he's not good with consistency or planning, but he's a FUN writer who has lots of fun ideas he loves to throw out. ojo is full of exampls of him trying things out or changing things on the fly on a whim, and yet we don't really care because these inconsistencies don't actually HURT the story overall especially if we keep this in mind.
I adore the fact that this video is both comedic and thought provoking about the logic about King Crimson's abilities and the possible reasons for its contradictions, either from a in-story perspective and a writer's prespective. Excellent work! 1000 out of 10! Would recommend!
I always explain it to be the ability to just skip events. Like if events are, "bullets gets shot, bullets enter Diablo, bullets exit, bullets enter Trish" he can just skip the event of him getting shot and others go accordingly.
Imagine your walking down the street eating ice cream and are just now passing a tree. Then when you go to lick your ice cream it’s gone and the tree you were just next to is now 30 feet behind you. You then notice you have a scraped knee and your ice cream is on the ground. That’s skipped time for everyone else Now imagine you can see the future but can’t change it. You foresee a kid is going to trip on your foot and get ice cream on your new shirt. You can’t avoid this fate by changing your actions as the vision you see already factored in your reaction to it. But you have the ability to skip time. Using this ability you can let the foreseen events all play out without being involved in them. So you skip the next 20 seconds and step out of the kids path and watch as the kid trips on nothing where you foot was supposed to be, falls dropping his ice cream, and apologizes to the air in front of him as if you where standing there before moving on and continuing to walk down the street. Then as the skipped section of time ends he goes to lick his ice cream only to be confused why his hand is empty while you stand watching with a clean shirt. That’s diovalo’s perspective
The quality of the analysis contained in the video is truly impressive... I still think that you missed a few points maybe, but at the same time I have never seen any other video explaining most of the issues related to King Crimson so well, congratulations.
Also like. Diavolo thought he was basically invincible. If you don't know how his stand works, he can sort of just eviscerate you instantly. I think it's fully possible that Diavolo never tested it out too much because he was just that confident in his ability to win with just punching holes through people the moment his time skip ends. It's very egotistical and in character.
Yeah. Unlike Dio, who obsessed over pushing the limits of his Stand, Diavolo mostly just uses it as a concealed carry weapon; something he can use to get rid of people who'd threaten his anonymity. I mean, even Giorno is like this. He doesn't figure out that Gold Experience can literally replace organs until a ways into the story.
ok i had a throy and no one noticed it so im asking it here Say if diavalo were to use epataph to see himself go into a train and leave but he uses time skip for 10 seconds to walk off the train and the train leaves what happens shurely future's fate would follow the trains path but diavalo is no longer on the train does he just some how stuble into another train that takes him there what if he keeps skipping through that then hed in theroy be in a ghost like state were no one notices what he does becuse its not according to fate meanwhile other people are interacting with a diavalo on the train who isnt present taking a ticket thats not there or fighting him when hes not there Would'nt diavalo be able to freely kill people in this state whilse time skip is no longer active since he isnt alligned with fate untill he realignes with his fated position

A detail I LOVE is that Rohan specifically mentions The World and uses Dio's The World design, but Koichi specifically talks about Jotaro's stand ability because Koichi is friends with Jotaro.
It can send things to other dimensions if the thing is closed between 2 other things, if someone or something OTHER than the user gets close enough to themselves from another dimension, they merge together and explode. The user can also transfer d4c as well as their own memories to other versions of themselves. And since every version of valentine has the same ideals, it doesnt make any difference. Thats basically it lol
@@RangerRobin0404 yeah but that upgrade isnt very complicated either. Its a wall of dimensions and any harm or misfortune that comes in its way gets sent to another completely random point in time across the dimensions. The only exceptions of this were attacks involving the golden spin
I've always thought about King Crimson's ability as less being able to skip time, and more that that's a consequence of it's actual ability, which is to get to an _effect_ without needing to go through the _cause_. This is also consistent with the thematic nature of it's ability, since the only way to beat King Crimson was with GER, which allows for a cause to happen without the effect occuring, a perfect defense against KC's power.
I hesitate to agree with your description of GER, as we have never actually received any explanation of what it is capable of, and it doesn't have much screen (page?) time.
I need more videos of Professor Giorno explaining certain stands and abilities that have misconceptions in the fanbase, even if they are not from his part. This is amazing keep up the great work.
lets run him through the other weirdass fucko stands like D4C, tusk 4 (and the fuckin rest of them), literal jesus christ and whether his shit was stand powers or not, etc
14:11 its actually quite simple, during the time skip, all barriers and other things simplu stop existing, leaving only a stary background, where diavollo is just constantly floating
To add on to the idea of using a spear with King Crimson, another possibility is that Diavolo saw King Crimson as so powerful that he never thought to push it to its limits. Alternatively having a spear or an outfit made of knives might have attracted too much attention.
I like to think that everything in JoJo functions like how Baeber explains the holy grail war in Fate abridged. Everything follows a strict set of guidlines, rules, and rituals except for when they don't.
Just like Stands that can only be seen by other Stand Users... except for when they don't. Or Stands can only be Hurt by other Stands... except for when they don't. Or that all Damage a Stand takes is translated to the User... except for when it doesnt :P
the best way ive found to describe king crimson is "effect without cause" so he can hit you without punching. on the other hand, GER is "cause without effect" so you can punch him without landing a hit
This _also_ explains why it's so tricky to pin down in 4D: there isn't a 'before' and 'after,' GER simply resets offense against itself to 0. There's no 'after' to a 'never gonna happen,' and that's how Diavolo gets sentenced to the fate of _every death imaginable/possible_ instead, which exists *in theory* as a 5D banishment from _all worlds entirely,_ in _infinite suffering,_ unto the eventual *zeroing* of his aggression or self, whichever comes first. ...I still can't say I love this series, but I _do_ love the thought experiment involving mathematics, pseudoreligious thought, justice, and potentially eternal suffering. ...leave it to JJBA to get me to believe in Pascal's Wager again. 😊
since giorno added the spears to the projector that means he expected koichi’s question about spears yet he acted surprised i wrote this comment about the premier when i thought that the vid was going to be like maybe 10 mins long why is it 25 mins
@@masterspoiler2367 GER is acting as a real-time editor by reversing the events the minute that happens and editing the projector accordingly. It has already been established that GER is an independent entity from giorno that acts without his knowledge (although always in his best interest), so this would make sense.
@@omriorgad7771Oooh, so Epitaph is actually the projector’s stand since it was fated that Rohan would ask the question as would Koichi, and it shows the result of that fate. That means Diavolo is the projector, meaning that Giorno actually did eat the real King Crimson in the prequel.
I haven't seen this much lore knowledge being used for a comedy video in such a genius way since the Dragon Ball Z Abridged series. You are absolutely amazing girl!!
Wait, hold up. I JUUUUST found this video and never saw it pop up before. This was hilarious! And I enjoyed how incredibly specific you got and how thoroughly you reduced each instance to the minute details and the logic of why it would or wouldn't work. Like, SUPER genuinely engaging and I enjoyed the hell out of this video. Also putting it under the guise of a Lecture Hall with the main cast of characters attending and having them act as themselves, but serving as a replacement for the audience to ask questions was brilliant. So good. I adore this animation style and the way you tell jokes. This comment might not be seen, but just wanted to let you know how much I geek over these videos!
The ending of this video PERFECTLY summarizes part of why discussing king crimson is so frustrating, we have a pretty reasonable guess, as a reader, why the events go a particular way, but from a watsonian perspective, i.e. from within the story, you've got to jump through some HOOPS to make the choices make sense with the rules given, and the hoops being so complex, people are liable to get frustrated and go "well it goes that way because Araki wrote it that way, you're thinking too hard!" easily as a way to bail, especially when it gets really nitpicky and hard to track. Heck, myself included, there were points where I was thinking "well there's no way Araki intended it to have gone that way, it just made for a cool beat! glad there could be a way to make it work, though!"
For base analysis, Diavolo can do as he pleases in a time skip (besides attacking other people) and he can choose to ignore his fate or go through with the fate faster through skipped time. The reason he can’t phase through walls because Aerosmiths bullets wouldn’t damage him in his own realm, or they don’t phase through him if they are moving. The fate for other people can’t be changed, unless Diavolo manages to do something in a time skip that affects it. Done no questions, no spears
as for why he doesn't fight peopled directly or try to kill them more directly or quickly, we actually do have a possible reason: he's a coward. He's CRIPPILINGLY afriad of people even seeing his face despite is identity not really matetring since he's only notable as the leader of Passione and hasno life or idtienty outside of it and yet he's so SCARED of people seeinghis face he goes out of his way to hide. he also may be a big stupid doodoo head.
Absolutely amazing video and stunning research. Im glad the problem I found was brought up too. I came into an argument on Reddit where I was confused about the Polnareff fighting Diavolo on the cliff scene which got downvoted to hell just for asking how it made sense (since redditors cant handle critiques to the shows they like) and I concluded that that scene was an error on the animation team's side, where they animated it as if it was The World. It wasn't an issue in the Manga btw, I checked.
This is a really fun video that manages to be super entertaining and funny, while also serving as a great reflection of how striking the right balance between “trying to understand exactly how the rules of a world work so you can better engage with the story” and “suspending your disbelief and enjoying the ride” can be a bit tricky sometimes. Love it, and it’s definitely gonna be a frequent re-watch for me!
The funny thing is that this is the original. It was supposed to come out on April 1st but turned into a way bigger project and that's why Giorno eats King crimson came out on April 1st.
At 15:35 the question about diavolo moving a different direction, you could have brought up an example from part 6, Where after pucci resets the universe, every human knew their fate, this way Emporio knew that he would enter the ghost room and pucci will kill him, he decided to not enter the ghost room but he slipped on a mop and ended up in the ghost room. Hence prove
A lot of the ending can be explained by reiterating his ability again "UP TO 10 seconds" Meaning the actions could have happened inctedibly quickly Bruno didnt do anything cause the skipped time was minimal Stands and people in this universe can go really fast so its not actually that impossoble to imagine diavolo broke in and stole trish in a second or less leaving bruno no time to react Also I don't think there's be a copy of diavolo Bruno could see From Bruno's perspective nothing and no one took Trish She just had her hand cut off and vanished from the air itself
A lot of Stands already can cause things to happen if you look away for just a moment, e.g. Jotaro vs D'Arby. In fact, since a Stand is technically only a visual representation of supernatural power, you might not be able to see or notice them if you aren't looking for them. Plus Diavolo might have some exceptions to movement due to his weird soul bond with Trish.
Its also possible that Diavolo skipped to a moment where Bruno was looking at the same wall again, perhaps while searching for trish, however the cause for looking there was lost so bruno didn't suspect anything
Yeah I argued that it was a high stress moment, and that we have several instances of times when characters don't even know something has happened to them (barring things like skipping time where they _couldn't_ be aware) so it isn't impossible that with enough speed the stand could have gotten Trish and because the time was still skipped he then lost any awareness he would have gotten normally. Pairing that up with what you said about Sticky Fingers, and honestly it's possible that Diavolo picked a time just before Bruno was going to pull out his stand since he would've seen it and then chose to cut less time, it would explain why Bruno was then completely unaware.
@@sarafontanini7051 that makes more sense than the elevator scene, if he can give epitaph to doppio then he can probably give the ability to see the future to others
As someone with long hair who swoops their hair, I actually do think it's completely reasonable for Epitaph to project onto his hair and he'd be able to look at it without anyone noticing. I can check the underside of my hair by just moving my eyes to the side. The hair waving in front of him would just be framing device to compose the scene in a way that the viewer can also see it

I just love the idea that even several years after beating him Giorno’s gang still have zero clue on how Diavolo’s Stand worked or how GER defeated it, so they decided to host a conference of as many people in the know about Stands as they can find in case they ever have to deal with an ability that bullshit again.
Including the PHF trio
I also enjoy thinking about why this conference even has to happen in the first place, besides the ability just being that confusing. My headcanon is that Giorno is thinking about releasing Diavolo from the infinite death loop so that he can use it on Pucci to stop the acceleration of the universe, and the conference exists so that just in case Diavolo SOMEHOW figures out a way to not be dead after that, they can know every weakness of the ability and defeat Diavolo without necessarily needing GER. Of course, the conferences would take so long and devolve into so much chaos like this one that they're still arguing about it during the events of Part 6.
why would giorno of all people ever have to worry about a stand ability again

not to mention as a manga artist he'd understand that perspective best regardless of his perfectionism. He'd understand when a manga artist would sjut do something because its cool rather than because it made sense in relation to later chapters the artist hadn't even written yet.
Because he is a self insert character Rohan in this case is ment to. Represent the fandom
Rohan says he cares about realism which was why he had to put himself thru nasty experiences
Or maybe, its a coincidence?
Rohan was spitting facts though.
I love how this tackles the question in such a realistic, plausible, and hilarious ways.
"Can Diavolo walk through wall"
"W H A T ? !"
13:12
i think he can, and is able to stand on the ground cause its just cooler that way, rohan would probably be kinda right in his final argument
Can prolly float like a stand
honestly it's a good question, I think it's more he cannot interact with Stands/people, hence why Aerosmith's bullets passed through him.
I agree, but it doesn't have to be limited to stands, they could argue about other similar things, such as the Sandman/Soundman thing

Yeah, I love it. It feels like an Umineko argument
Oh right. Giorno did say towards the start of part 5 that repeating things is useless*, didn’t he?
(*Translator’s note: “useless” means “muda”)
To be fair, while Rohan is a know-it-all he does make decent points and asks fair questions.
@@filipvadas7602 for example the thing with bruno seeing his future/past self always stuck in my craw, especially since the manga atleast makes it look like Bruno was tricked into killing himself by Diavolo's silly trick.
Would have been cool if Fugo was there since what’s her name was there Shelia E
Oooo, Doylist and Warsonist are two terms I never knew existed, but now I wish I've heard them so much sooner-

Is it complicated or just stupid?
I feel like when you look into stands this deep, any of them can be complicated.
This is why I’ll never invite Rohan to any info talks.
@@BoromcioStudiya, the real issue in a show where tactical cleverness is so central, the rules not making sense takes off a lot of the weight to the battles.
Or someone who realizes that KC is inconsistent as hell
I love the idea that him being very stupid and uncreative is one of the most reasonable and complete solutions
And that's true tbh
it is also very in character
In fact, if it werent for giorno puncturing himself and getting his good ol requiem abilities, diavolo had a more than fair shot at beating our friends
It was those mistakes: that stupidity, that uncreativity, that cockiness in his ability to defy fate outright creating the belief that there was never any need to fully flush out and figure out his capabilities that in turn manifested the One Thing that could stop him
A perfect showcase and culmination of all of this was his brief bout with GER.

Its not even that confusing though
Didn't he make a hole in the ceiling to do that?
The stand bullets thing actually makes sense, because stands are the manifestation of the fighting spirit, and therefore definitely count as having souls. Thus the bullets from Aerosmith, which are never reloaded, are generated by the stand, unlike Mista's bullets which are real bullets, hence why diovolo has to dodge them.
i think the bullets had a destined destination
a wall does not move and a body cannot cross a not moving object
a falling wall have a destined destination and thus the fall can be skipped and Diavolo can dodge the said fall
if the wall were to fall on Giorno and Diavolo if KC time skipped Diavolo would not have been damaged but Giorno would have.
remember thats the case only if Diavolo can defy its own fate via KC. if not nothing would make sens.
Pretty sure he reloads then, and several times at that. The one that stuck me the most is when Mista sleeves off his iconic hat a bit and, from there, six bullets fall into the gun neatly.
@@ericjustehernandezyou say pretty sure he reloads but don't explain how?

It only stopped shooting when narancia thought he killed the guy.
But there were many rats in the sewer and the radar was co2 seeking based and had to continiously shoot numerous multiple bullets immediatley after every ratkill. So i think you're wrong about this one.

I mean, to be fair, diavolvo restriction is that he can only skip time untill 10 seconds, not that he has to skip time untill 10 seconds. So a valid explanation of this could be that , since the elevator roof isn't even in the manga, Bruno DID have a reaction to diavolo going in to take Trish, then looked to the side to maybe try to find a way to stop the elevator, only for diavolo to time his ability right at the moment he's fully looking over to basically make him forget that he saw diavolo(or in this case, fated diavolo) in the first place
King crimson also technically has the ability to make people forget about what would happen in the 10 seconds skipped so that could also explain turtlereff stairs scene and abacchios boat scene, both of them would be the one to attempt something very in character, no autopilot, but had that action technically be cancelled due to diavolos correct time skipping/ memory erasing
yesss exactly what I was thinking.

Example?
There's a distinct possibility that Bruno was looking at the elevator wall because he was about to use Sticky Fingers on it, and he was listening for which side of the elevator Diavolo would be on.
The fact that he doesn't have Sticky Fingers out for this action is strange, but it's at least a *half* reasonable explanation.
Also what do people do on elevators but look at the floor they are going up to and basically doing nothing anyways.
Or maybe Diavolo just did it really fast and Bruno was off guard and didn't notice.
I like how each character had their own custom slides ready for this presentation and inserted them in when they knew they were gonna start arguing.
It must be an enemy stand user
Nah, Giorno prepared all the slides himself, even for Rohan's and Koichi's interruptions, everytime he forgot a slide, he just activated GER and then created the slide

You know that feeling of walking into a room and suddenly forgetting why you entered it?
True
HOW DOES KING CRIMSON WORK
Why not both?
If you're this confused about King Crimson, just wait till you see D4C.

@@Keepitasceretwell no one reacts to it happening so maybe no one did see it
@@KeepitasceretWell, I’m by no means an expert, but from the depictions I have seen, the people imploded visibly dissolve into menger sponges, which could theoretically be reversed by GER.

@@KnightofChaosDeckbit hard considering he has no idea who DIO is and also cuz he's dead
Wouldn't it be more practical to use knives, wait if Diavolo used knives he would just be compared to Dio wouldn't he?
Thats hilarious that makes him seem like a looney tunes character
D4C's ability was straight up changed from letting universes collide to being able to transport stuff across universes.
Of course you do because Rohan represents the Fandom in this video.
@@Y0G0FUviva's a girl, actually!
I adore the fact that this video is both comedic and thought provoking about the logic about King Crimson's abilities and the possible reasons for its contradictions, either from a in-story perspective and a writer's prespective. Excellent work! 1000 out of 10! Would recommend!
King Crimson, a stand that’s not that complicated once you actually understand it, but it is absolutely impossible to explain.
"IT JUST WORKS"
I always explain it to be the ability to just skip events.
Like if events are, "bullets gets shot, bullets enter Diablo, bullets exit, bullets enter Trish" he can just skip the event of him getting shot and others go accordingly.
King Crimson ability is just like quantum mechanics, if you think that you understand how exactly it works you are probably wrong.
Imagine your walking down the street eating ice cream and are just now passing a tree. Then when you go to lick your ice cream it’s gone and the tree you were just next to is now 30 feet behind you. You then notice you have a scraped knee and your ice cream is on the ground. That’s skipped time for everyone else
Now imagine you can see the future but can’t change it.
If you cant explain it, you dont understand it. If you can explain it, but people find inconsistencies, then your explanation is not adequate

He doesn't figure out that Gold Experience can literally replace organs until a ways into the story.
ok i had a throy and no one noticed it so im asking it here
Say if diavalo were to use epataph to see himself go into a train and leave but he uses time skip for 10 seconds to walk off the train and the train leaves what happens shurely future's fate would follow the trains path but diavalo is no longer on the train does he just some how stuble into another train that takes him there what if he keeps skipping through that then hed in theroy be in a ghost like state were no one notices what he does becuse its not according to fate meanwhile other people are interacting with a diavalo on the train who isnt present taking a ticket thats not there or fighting him when hes not there
Would'nt diavalo be able to freely kill people in this state whilse time skip is no longer active since he isnt alligned with fate untill he realignes with his fated position

@@InterestkingI believe it is describing it on a thematic level rather than a description of its ability

"can diavolo walk through walls"
*"W H A T"*
To add on to the idea of using a spear with King Crimson, another possibility is that Diavolo saw King Crimson as so powerful that he never thought to push it to its limits. Alternatively having a spear or an outfit made of knives might have attracted too much attention.
He could have had daggers under his outfit.
Or a HandGUN
I like to think that everything in JoJo functions like how Baeber explains the holy grail war in Fate abridged. Everything follows a strict set of guidlines, rules, and rituals except for when they don't.
Just like Stands that can only be seen by other Stand Users... except for when they don't. Or Stands can only be Hurt by other Stands... except for when they don't. Or that all Damage a Stand takes is translated to the User... except for when it doesnt :P
60% of the time, it is correct every time
the best way ive found to describe king crimson is "effect without cause" so he can hit you without punching. on the other hand, GER is "cause without effect" so you can punch him without landing a hit
This honestly makes the logic behind it so much easier to comprehend lol
Rohan and Koichi = two friends you've introduced to JoJo
Giorno = The one who introduced them and is suffering the consequences
since giorno added the spears to the projector that means he expected koichi’s question about spears yet he acted surprised
i wrote this comment about the premier when i thought that the vid was going to be like maybe 10 mins long why is it 25 mins
Isn't established the moment Rohan brought up example 2 that Giorno *didn't* have full control over the projector?
@@masterspoiler2367 meaning the projector has a stand
Maybe GER added it without him knowing
Heck, myself included, there were points where I was thinking "well there's no way Araki intended it to have gone that way, it just made for a cool beat! glad there could be a way to make it work, though!"
oooh. _That's_ what Watsonian means
Why spears though?
I more simplistic explanation would be that King Crimson removes the cause but keeps the effect, while GER keeps the cause and removes the effect.
this can actually explain the edge cases presented, he chooses for fate to change or to not change.
If only Giorno thought of that
But why no spears?
as for why he doesn't fight peopled directly or try to kill them more directly or quickly, we actually do have a possible reason: he's a coward.

Poor Giorno. At least he tried. Thank you for another great video, Viva; you've clearly put a lot of work into this one!
The sequel we all expected but never needed
The funny thing is that this is the original. It was supposed to come out on April 1st but turned into a way bigger project and that's why Giorno eats King crimson came out on April 1st.
At 15:35 the question about diavolo moving a different direction, you could have brought up an example from part 6,
Where after pucci resets the universe, every human knew their fate, this way Emporio knew that he would enter the ghost room and pucci will kill him, he decided to not enter the ghost room but he slipped on a mop and ended up in the ghost room. Hence prove
I like how Mista is holding four pamphlets and immediately realizes it.
I utterly adore the fact that Rohan is the one posing all the questions
A lot of the ending can be explained by reiterating his ability again
"UP TO 10 seconds"
Meaning the actions could have happened inctedibly quickly
Bruno didnt do anything cause the skipped time was minimal
Stands and people in this universe can go really fast so its not actually that impossoble to imagine diavolo broke in and stole trish in a second or less leaving bruno no time to react
Also I don't think there's be a copy of diavolo Bruno could see
From Bruno's perspective nothing and no one took Trish
She just had her hand cut off and vanished from the air itself
Except there were no sound at all when Trish disappeared. If Diavolo took Trish, he MUST have skipped time to do it.
@@FoxBallFlat yeah no one saying he didn't skip time
Just that he only skipped a little bit of time, not a whole 10 seconds

This is the best explanation of King Crimson I've heard yet. I'm glad that the mistakes made in the really really fast video were corrected here.
