- Join Justin as he chats with actor and filmmaker Michael Ironside about growing up in poverty, living with imposter syndrome, Scanners, spiritual experiences, Sam Fisher, life after death, and more!
I met him today at Manchester Comic Con. A real pleasure and complete honour to have shook his hand.
His voice carries such strength of heart. A good man.
Best voice ever. Wish he could be Sam Fisher one more time.
he will
Definitely agree, when I think sam fisher I think of him.
He looks well at 74, thats good to see. I'm glad he has been a part of the entertainment industry, especially in video games. Its been a blast.
What I would give to have Mr.Ironside reprise the role of Sam Fisher. Splinter was an iconic part of my childhood and I'm still a die hard fan of splinter cell
One of my alllll time favorite on screen and voice actors. God bless him. Great that you got to interview him. He is Sam Fisher! You earned my sub friend!
Thanks, I really appreciate that!
Hello again, Justin, your channel is PURE GOLD, i can believe the rooster of stars in this channel, congratulations.
Thanks a lot, dude. I appreciate the kind words and I am glad you're enjoying the episodes!
Met him at a convention recently, super cool guy! Thanks for the interview
Thank for listening!
Thank you for this interview, it's always a pleasure to listen to the legend Michael Ironside
Thanks for checking it out!
Great interview man
Thanks, dude. I am glad you enjoyed it
Wow it's wild to see him today, he's still a man with a good booming voice too.
I met him at the Texas Frightmare weekend on May 17-19.
The first thing I ever saw him in was The A Team the next was V The Final Battle & he was such a badass been a fan ever since!
I love how hilariously real Michael Ironside is. What a fun listen, reminds me of my grandfather in the best way
Couldn't agree more! I said to a friend afterwards that he reminded me of my grandfather.
THE Definitive voice for Darkseid.
"I am many things, Kal-El - but Here, I am GOD...."
a legend of our times!
This was wonderful! Thank you for doing this and thanks to Michael aswell!
Thanks for listening!
"i'll send my daughter to come and getcha..." Sam(antha) Fisher spinoff! 😮
Amazing interview! I came here from the short you made about his work on Splinter Cell (2002). Starts at 49:18
I love Michael Ironside, and I've seen all of his other interviews, including the stuff they put my PS2 copy. Those interviews helped inspire me to become a game developer! Somehow I'm not surprised that the initial script by JT Petty was THAT bad. But to hear Michael say the game devs allowed him to punch it up is just wild... He's not even credited as a writer, I'm convinced he should be!
EDIT: The Ubisoft stock options story was crazy! No wonder he quit acting for them, he almost owned 13% of the whole company! (For context, Tencent currently owns 14% of Ubisoft) Considering how they're skirting bankruptcy for the second time now, I think they should've let him have it. He could've saved them on multiple occasions.
Thank you for listening! Michael is certainly one of a kind, haha.
@@MonstersMadnessandMagic He really is! Gonna comb through some more of your content since I really like your format and your vibe. Especially your last question, I really wasn't expecting a whole emotional story like that from Michael. xD
@@Rune3D I always ask that question last so the guest is more comfortable and likely to share a story they wouldn't have at the beginning. Thanks for checking out the channel!
Voice of childhood!
"Proud to be a Canadian, pass me annnootttheeer beer." *Dayglo Abor!@#$% (punk band from victoria)
Pass me another Eskimo!
I guess this kinda confirms that he's not voicing Sam in the remake?
Yeah, that seems to be the case.
If that's the case, not playing it. I refused Blacklist for the same reason..Ubisoft would have to offer him a incredibly generous and fair deal for him to come back. Which he deserves as he is, Sam Fisher. Even if he says no, money talks.
its still early in development, so he could still voice Sam in it.
@@tobiesoftstudio823 Blacklist was fun, but it definitely wasn't the same. To me, SC: Conviction was the finale. And I think Michael Ironside ended Sam Fisher on a high note. :)
@@tobiesoftstudio823Blacklist was an almost perfect Splinter Cell if only Michael Ironside was in it. I'd highly recommend playing it as it is terrific. I do also think that they should have made the game revolve around another Splinter Cell instead of Sam but it is still great.

His Canadian accent slipped through a few times
