  • If your running a Berkeley Jet-O-Vater in your classic Jet Boat, this video is just for you. Whether you need to make repairs, install a new unit, make adjustments, or are just curious about how the unit functions, this video will provide the information you need. In one of my recent videos, I compared the differences between the Berkeley Jet-O-Vater and the Place Diverter. In that video, I did not go into much detail on how the Berkeley unit functions. I felt there was too much to cover on how these operate, so I wanted to make that topic a separate video. The Berkeley Jet-O-Vater is unique in the way it works in conjunction with the steering cable and transom cover. In this video, I go into much more detail on exactly how the Berkeley Jet-O-Vater is set up and operates. So if you need to understand how they function, how to set one up, or make adjustments to the unit in your jet boat, you are in the right place. I also cover the electric motor replacement and how to address a failing trim gauge sending unit on the control box. Plenty of these Berkely Jet O Vaters are still in use. Still, more good information is needed to support the people using them.

      Berkely sells very limited new parts for these jet-o-vators. Your best bet is to find a used one.

    What do you know about the Berkeley JE pump? I have a JE with a hydraulic place diverter.

    • @AutoTechNick
      @AutoTechNick  ปีที่แล้ว

      The JG and JE share internal components. The main difference is the configuration of the suction housing, and that you may not have a “split bowl.”

    Why does it need to be electric, I had a jet boat it had the Berkeley jet drive it was all cable driven no electric it was not hard it was easy to drive

    • @AutoTechNick
      @AutoTechNick  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It doesn’t have to be electric. They can be either. Nothing is wrong with either style. Mine happened to be electric, so that’s the only reason I was discussing its operation.
