A new iPad Pro 13 2024 will be delivered today, but I purchased it without case or keyboard because the “customer support” couldn’t even tell me if I could use a bluetooth keyboard that I have, or the new one you feature-it is not offered as an accessory on the website. Thank you for the review and information.
I’d buy it if it had backlight and the ability to be wired. Can’t stand latency and random input lags prevalent in bluetooth keyboard. Might sound old school, but wired keyboard and mouses FTW. Can’t beat instant response with no interference.
This answers some questions I had about getting a Magic Keyboard with the touch ID for a Mac Mini which I plan to get next but it won't be functional on my older Macbook Pro which still uses an Intel processor.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but not having Touch ID just means that you’ll have to click in the username/PW field on screen and then choose a stored password. It doesn’t automatically mean you have to manually type passwords. The stored passwords are used whether you’re activating them via fingerprint sensor or mouse, right?
Can you use it at the same time with ipad and a laptop (with the cable attached to the laptop? While paired to ipad?) the whole universal control is not working on my set up. And I can't have mx mini because of the key travel as I do use a lot of shortcuts. It's hella weird though with mout backlight???
Do these just charge or does it also have a battery inside? Ive had mine awhile and it wont seem to connect even with the cord ? Do i just need a replacement ?
Hey there, thanks for the video! Im using my mac air m1 with a dell monitor, if I get the magic keyboard for 99$ without the Touch ID, and use this for my setup, I still can use the touch ID from my laptop keyboard right?
Can I use it with the cable (Lightning to USB-C) and with the switch (on/off) button turned off? Anyway it wouldn't be a problem if I have to leave the switch on, I want to always use it with the cable and never wirelessly. Another question: does the Touch ID work if it's used with the cable and not with bluetooth? Thank you
@@adamtalkstech And does the Touch ID button work when the keyboard is plugged in? Thank you again for your reply. (I think I want this keyboard for my future mac mini but I don't want to change batteries every month or so)
it's just a keyboard. I got an affordable keyboard for 100 bucks, something like 25usd. You know what? It works. It's a keyboard. You type in and the words magically appear on screen. Ps. I'd be nice to have touch id on the kb but it's ok
When comparing the magic keyboard and the original one in MacBook laptops, this is a big difference. After using the keyboard of Apple laptops, it is impossible to use the magic keyboard. A particularly problem is the empty space above the arrows. It is impossible to work with touch typing, you constantly need to look, it is very uncomfortable! I bought another keyboard
@@adamtalkstech I have both keyboards. For 2 weeks I tried to get used to the magic keyboard. There are a lot of errors in touch typing. Great review mate. you should have at least 100k subs
One day! 😎
no backlighting is crazy
Definitely a big con.
@@adamtalkstech no space-grey option without no-numpad is even more crazier.

Space gray color is 20 dollars more

No problem!
great channel. tks man.
Welcome to the channel!
does it turn yellow after some time?
Hey there, thanks for the video! Im using my mac air m1 with a dell monitor, if I get the magic keyboard for 99$ without the Touch ID, and use this for my setup, I still can use the touch ID from my laptop keyboard right?
Yup I do that sometimes!!
Thank you!@@adamtalkstech
But can you use the Touch ID key as a regular key (remap it)? Does it click down identically to any other key?
Nah Touch ID isn't a key, it's a fingerprint reader with specific functionality.
Can I use it with the cable (Lightning to USB-C) and with the switch (on/off) button turned off? Anyway it wouldn't be a problem if I have to leave the switch on, I want to always use it with the cable and never wirelessly. I'm pretty sure they do nothing with the switch off but you can always leave its plugged in permanently if you want to and it will work just fine.

Tested and confirmed Touch ID works in wired mode but leave the switch on on the keyboard
@@adamtalkstech Thank you! Good to know
Thank you for all the information on here
Thanks for watching!
Can we use it with the windows laptop?
Does the Touch ID work on the iPad Pro 12.9 M2
No :(
I they offered a space grey (without numeric pad) maybe but it being white is a turn off not a turn on for me
Check out the satechi x1. No Touch ID though. :/
If you use your keyboard with the lights off than the backlighting will be in useful...otherwise no big deal..
Great job. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Very useful
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching
Does the touch id work for ipads?
I don’t think so.
It’s kind of weird the Touch ID can not be used on M1 iPad :(
Battery is really delicate forget to unplugged one night and the next day gone
Please try connecting to iPhone 15 pro max.
bro , do you need a thumbnail designer for your yt videos??
Probably!

True.
Due to the lack of usb-C, the purchase misses the point....
Would be nice.
No backlight. 0 out of 5. Idc how good the typing experience is.
Backlights rock.
No backlight is a deal breaker.
Would be nice

I disagree, but I can see where you are coming from. The arrow keys are the only difference.

That’s fair.
"minimal travel" isn't a positive.
Depends who you ask. Read the comments on these videos :D
Nobody mentions battery life 👎
Lasts practically forever.

Hah yeah that’s probably about right. I have a ton of these at work that we rarely charge.
logitech looks so trash in comparison
Yup apples got the minimal look down
This is overpriced
$50 for Touch ID is how I look at it
@@adamtalkstech that makes sense to see it like that
