This process of connecting capacitor (formerly called condenser) in parallel across the load is called Power factor correction. This is done to correct the power factor of your inductive load towards unity (ie 1 {one} ). It is an attempt to remove the reactive part of your load current and leaving only that active current. By doing so in Electrical Engineering cct theory, we say the load is 'purely resistive' at unity power factor. The value of the capacitor to be use to correct the power factor towards unity (1) depends in how inductive the load is. It's is an attempt to cancel out the inductive current which is in effect will be lagging the voltage (or trailing behind) when the current-voltage graph against time is plotted in a graph. Note that when the two vector quantities (with magnitude and direction) are in phase or are neither leading nor lagging each others, tbe load is said to be purely resistive and wasted energy in form of reactive power is done away with. Hence the power is rated in Watts and otherwise, it will be rated in VA which is a product (multiplication) of both voltage and the used current that will be the real and the wasted in the later case. Don't thank me. Thank Electrical circuit theory that taught us this relatively very, very simple theory amid other extremely complex theories which we have learnt and teach to our students up to Phd level.

I'm confused and many questions and doubts is created
Sir, actually I used 240 kW per month power supply, so how value used capacitor means which kW capacitor used sir, plz help me discrz my current bill sir plz plz tell me
5 micro farad, 400 volt. BUT do not count on it to reduce cost. test it. it might. needs accurate calculation and measurement.
Thank u sir
Watch less TV programmes, never use aircon. 100% save you money. Capacitor is bullshit.
dont try this it will not work on heating and , lighting load the fellow who uploaded is non technical fellow.
Go solar
Electricity meter measures real power and not KVA. Therefore power factor correction saves you nothing. Its just a benefit for the electric utility.
This is a waste of our time and its a pity TH-cam does not show dislikes.
'read comments before watch' saved me, thank you people..
How many mfd cap used?
Sir .what is the size of the capacitor to be installed.
Use AC(AlternatingCurrent) capacitors....oil filled capacitors..all these I have been using...but be careful while disconnecting they will be charged....keep away from children...

Capacitor value ?
What is the rating of capacitor.
You can use 10 mfd to 100 mfd,
If you want to waste money and time, go ahead. Use anywhere from 1uf to 50 uf but make sure it is rated at 250V AC and above. To protect yourself connect 1M ohm half watt resistor across the capacitor. You would learn a good lession after spending a couple of $.

Non-sense! The capacitor only takes a leading current and reduces the KVA rating of the line! The Kw or the energy drawn remains the same!
Power consumption scale in industries in kvah unit, but in domestic it is in kwh unit,by adding capacitor we can reduce kvah, but not kwh, so it has no mean in saving money in domestically, so don't fool people
Anung microfarat capacitor Nyan idol?
how many uf of the capcitor.
Very nice
Thanks
Is it allowed in Meralco? Is it legal also....
Video will encourage some people to reduce the energy bill unscrupulous way which I think should never be done. This will reduce the Govt. revenue collection which are utilised for public welfare.
please tel me which capacitor
My house lo 140 units use chestamu entha microfared capacitor vadali
Home lo motors untene .. capacitors use avutay orelse no use...
What’s the size of the capacitor?
55 uf
55microfarrad?
If iwanto conet the the capacitor please iwe let you know thank sir
I wrote my Thesis on this subject back in 1988 **saving power by correcting your POWER FACTOR AND CLEAN UP YOUR POWER LINES TO SAVE POWER COST*****DR KEL
Skemanya mana??? Brapa uf lw pake?
It is of no use in house where there is no inductive load as it is there in any industry..!!
The only way to reduce your electric bill is to use less...
Is it allowed by the Electricity Board ?
The company meter mesure the power, not the current only. Adding a capacitor may, eventually, increase the power factor ( cosine phy) but won't change the actual power.
in AC system the power is I x U x cos y ... not just I x U..... FAKE! SCAM!
its all ok but what is capacity of capacitor?
still we have chootyas...keep it up
This will improve pf not reduce bill.
This is Baloney Sausage , the electric meter records only watts consumed , the capacitor does nothing ! Total B.S..!
If we detached fuse for.a second is it a offense
Can it apply for Indian's law
Capacitor ki value kya h,
Not sure is connection
This old concept, nowadays digitalized meters has come and are fixed in all homes office's, factories. This technique is of No Use... 🤔
Correct
Ilang Mf ang capacitor ?pag sa bahay ang 2.5 mf ok na ba?salamat
if u want to reduce the bill of electricity!dont use to much appliances!
