Wow! Nice adventure.. Never camped on ice before.. did I say I live on the Texas gulf coast. Lol! Originally from Worchester Massachusetts (the Northeast) and I miss snow! Love your food choices.. StaySafe 😂
Nice cotton cabin Erin and Jon. Great to have such a nice winter getaway all set up and ready to go! You two are an awesome couple working together or just enjoying life together.
Thank you so much for your videos man. I miss camping and exploring. Just being out in the wilderness. I broke my leg and my foot in June last year dirt biking. Your videos have kept me sane and have inspired me when im physically able to trust being alone to go on a solo camping trip with my dog. Be safe and please keep making videos!
If you are making cocktails for the back country give the Negroni a try. 1 part gin, 1 part Campari, 1 part sweet vermouth (the red one). Cocktails for the backcountry should always be 100% alcohol, not to get you drunk haha but because if you add citrus (lemon or lime juice) to them then your drink will be pretty funky after day 1. Great video as always!
7:00 breathtaking view. Your videos are such a joy to watch. The cinematography, narration, music, and everything is brilliant. I'd love to visit a place where the stars look like diamonds glistening across a blue blanket. Snow, too? I'd be in Heaven. Keep the great videos coming you two.
Super chill video. Love the idea of being outside for the stars while partner is back at tent keeping the fire up. That's a dream "job" right there. Hope this video makes a ton.
That looks like an amazing spot for a hot tent camp. You guys should try a tent with a zip in floor sometime. I switched to a Robens Klondike and the heat retention is amazing. Not to mention it feels like a home. You can walk around in your socks. Great video and can’t wait to see what else you do there. Hope you fish.
Hi Erin nice to see you out what a beautiful capture of the landscape stars and tent .Yikes that is cold hearing the crunch of that snow Burrr, Look forward to another adventure such an awesome outdoorsy couple . WAtching from Ontario Canada.
Hey John and Erin, I like watching your videos. I always wonder if you leave your tent there alone, are you ever afraid that it will be stolen? Keep up the good work making this videos Greetings from Belgium
Everest Base Camp but much nicer...it is nice to put the work in then have it to come back to...complete with firewood. Food looks great. Here in Perth...two days of 42C but somewhat cooler today. I cool down watching your videos
Every time I watch this channel I always think the term “TH-camr” doesn’t quite do you justice. I’m thinking Cinematographer…Story Teller… and because of the demands that you put your bodies through to create content that gives us all some level of mental peace…🤪 the idea of an Outdoor Adventure Athlete seems fitting. Speaking of that I have 3 decades of working with high performance athletes and would be happy to consult on any questions you may have on the subject. I’m not looking for any exposure on your site just want to make sure you guys keep producing your awesome content! Thanks for all the effort💪🏻
It’s 15C outside in Southern Ontario right now and the only precipitation aside from perspiration is my sad tears from having to watch sub zero winter and frozen lakes on youtube. I need to move.
It’s 17c in Windsor and Sunny.Mother Nature is drunk…I am not from here but from the land of ice and snow (central Ontario) and the lack of snow in this city irks me too!
Man we don't ever even see snow ,I must have the mountains in my blood cause lord knows they call too me .but yea currently here in bama it's a warm spring , ridiculous.
What a nice surprise as I just came inside to rest from some backyard tree cutting. Glad you found a good place for a camp to return to. Kudos to Erin as keeper of the fire and expert splitter. If there is enough room for cots in the tent on next trip maybe you could store firewood underneath them. Hope you both have a great weekend.
The tent, the music and the typical atmosphere… It brings me back to the winter camping videos from yours from two years ago! Awesome video Jon and Erin. Greetings from Holland 🇳🇱
It was 50°F(10°C) in Vermont yesterday; I rode my bike for the first time in 3 months. We expect to have a small maple syrup run this weekend. Two days ago it was in the single digits Fahrenheit and well below that with the wind howling outside helping a friend change the brakes in his wife's car. I love your hot-tenting adventures; just hoping for some more snow down here so I can set up my own.
i like to get on google maps and find your location most of the time u put the exact location other times i search..... great channel very good content
Glad you like the concoction. It did get to 22C shortly after we got some, for here serious, minus C temps. Surprised me. Now warm. Old timers say it's not over. I should have brassicas in the ground. Tomatoes in 2 weeks. Great looking camp. Looking forward to more!
Life goals right there. In other goals, I'm working my way down to the base of a giant fallen pine at my place, every time I cut it with the Silky it's the biggest tree I've ever cut, every time I bury the axe in the corner of it and lift it to my shoulder for the flip, it's the biggest log I've ever chopped! I never really know if I'll be able to shoulder flip the next one. Gotta be 16" across by now. Each 16" long slice heats the house for about a day!
Bartender from Wisconsin here sir! Old fashions are our state drink. Try this one, this is how you make them right rocks glass, add an orange slice and four squirts of angostura bitters, packet of sugar if you want it sweet. Muddled that up, add ice, 2 oz of, top with sweet or sour soda.
Short video but glad to have it the temp is 60 today in Missouri and I’m freezing so you guys have guts to go out in the cold even if you are dressed for it
Love your choice of an Old Fashioned cocktail, one of my favorites. I like them especially around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays because my recipie starts with a teaspoon of granulated sugar, a dash of bitters, 2 cheries with a spoon of cherry juice, 1/2 an orange and a lemon peel all muddled together in the glass. Then I add my Makers Mark (3 ounces) and an ounce ao Gran Maniere and Ice. Perfect sweet drink. Another of my wintertime favorites is a Manhatten. Bitters, Canadian Whiskey, Sweet Vermouth and a cherry, served up.
The quality (the videography and pacing particularly) of this channel has just gotten so great that past or. You've become an artist. Have you been able to make it back to this camp with this crazy warm winter?
Minus 20 is sure enough cold. Not sure how it could be enjoyable. Done that but long ago. There is a stark beauty in the winter. Just black and white. Thanks for bringing back some memories
Nice little "cabin" you got yourselves there. I've lived in quite a few places over the years and smelling like hot dogs would be pretty low on the list of complaints, especially with a view like that. Great to see Erin swinging the axe again. ❤ to you both.
Hello from South Africa, just stumbled on your videos and you are a couple close to my ❤. Love your adventures in nature especially when John finds natural crystals for Erin and also capturing the night sky. The only time I get to see the night sky is on our virtual safaris which are great. Thank you for being sensitive by bashing the fishes head so he does not suffer before being eaten. God bless you both.👋👋🇿🇦
One of my favourite channels on TH-cam I thoroughly enjoy it. Best of luck to you too. We will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary May 3 this year. Continued success.👫
Adore you 2! My head is so busy I can't sleep at times. Earphone one ear.. I'm off to sleep again. Thank you. I do watch fully I promise but so nice to have LL there to help me sleep. Love from 🏴
Hey John- great to see you out and about again. Glad to see you are healed up. Was wondering what 35mm cameras you guys were using to film in the brook trout vid? What is your preference and if you know what are the other guys were using? Thanks!!!
I fell in love with your channel before you had the van. I miss how peaceful it was watching you set up camp, seeing your dogs enjoy the outdoors, and I loved your filming style and excitement finding the perfect photography spot. You are a pro at creating a mood, you made us feel like we were right there with you. I love your van (have one myself) and still watch all your vlogs, but I rewatch all the videos from 2020 over and over. Look forward to your next great spot in the mountains.
This is exactly what I needed on this Friday after work at Costco with my huge pizza slice and pop! I am itching to get back to camping to myself! Safe travels ❤
This is great👍. A winter tent 🎪 cabin you can visit. I look forward to your adventures revisiting your cosy base tacked away in the middle of nowhere. Glad to see you both well. Thank🙏 you for sharing.
That trip to Canada is going ever higher on my bucket list... Just gotta think about what kind of trip. Ideally this type but as someone completely unfamiliar with the Canadian wilderness that's probably a step too far. But man that itch sure is there! Thank you again for igniting that spark in me with your amazing videos. They have gotten me through some rough years and I'll forever be grateful for that.
Wow! Another fantastic video. Jon, your nature videography is fantastic. You are so lucky to have a life partner, Erin, who enjoys nature and the wild side of camping as you do. I look forward to every new vid. I will be joining very soon.
Why he doesn't have a million subscribers or more is beyond me. Just awesome videos. Well put together and all around good human beings.
Welcome back Erin. You are dearly missed when John is alone or with his fellow adventurers
good
You honour me
Wow!

Aren't you two the cutest! Just an adorable couple. How he takes care of her.
I agree, but I also think that Erin is plenty capable all on her own!! LOL
@trevordinsmore2194 isn't she just an absolute darling? Ill bet Erin turns into an absolute 'Mama Bear' when it comes to pleasing her man.👨
She split the wood AND tended the fire!?! He best be cooking!
And she does my favorite job. Splitting fire wood is so satisfying.
A new lost Lakes vid? What a great way to start the weekend.
Nice to see you two in action again. Nice setup for your base campsite!
Erin….about time! We missed you. Great to see you both back out together. Thanks for the video.

I like the tripod for the stove pipe. 👍🤓🪵🔥
Jealous of your snow. It’s been a lackluster Winter here. Beautiful area!

We have lost out winter temps and most of our snow down here along the St Lawrence. I hope you get a longer season to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
These videos are just pure joy to watch :)) Thanks a lot

I really enjoy watching you two winter camping. Erin pulls her weight just fine, and you complement each other so well.

more inspiration. I get ever close to buying a hot tent!
also, an acceptable synonym to "icesome" would be "noice"

Omg that ASMR deep cold snow walking sound... Sends shivers
Everything about your camp is perfection. I only wish you had a ground sheet for at least a portion of that large floor area.
What a great area! I had a sun dog last Wed in northern MI…just love them! Looking forward to your next adventure! TY!
Its 43 degrees Celsius in Perth, WA, Aus right now and that snow is looking refreshing!!

That would be nice! I've always forgone cots but they would be real nice for something like this
@@LostLakes Well worth the extra comfort I think by being elevated and closer to warmer air. Could stay in your sleeping bags when stoking the fire:)
Wow what a great shot of Orion's Belt.
The tent, the music and the typical atmosphere… It brings me back to the winter camping videos from yours from two years ago!
Awesome video Jon and Erin. Greetings from Holland 🇳🇱
The zoom at 5:04 👌
You two are so cute together! A joy to watch your videos.😚
Happy Belated New Year 2024 Lost Lakes!!!

Nice. Just got back from a 5-day trip myself. Weather is so warm. In the pluses by t-bay
What a lovely location. Do you ever worry about winds coming off the lake that would knock down your tent? :-)
Wow. Very nice Video.

have you ever thought about a small little solar panel for 1 led bulb in the tent? or to recharge cam eq? oh and I agree grand marnier is great!!
Old Fashioned’s are a staple at my fishing camp! Beautiful video. Thank you
