Good video. Next time start car to fill filter then check level on dipstick. Also level is checked with engine hot. So underfill slightly then check when hot. This so you don’t over fill. Nice working with your son. Cheers! 😊
why would you fill to the max?You are risking damaging pcv valve on these are very finicky.Mine takes 6quarts with filter change and oil level sits right in-between min and max line.Perfect with 6 quarts
6 quarts would be fine…especially if you change at 5k vs 10k. Half a quart is not going to damage pcv ..if you put factory amount of oil back there is no issue. Thanks for watching 👌🏻
@SVXistance 1992 thanks for the reply,my glc was throwing a check p052e code after oil changed with using 7qts of oil.Dipstick level to the max, drained the level to medium mark and reset after researching this code on glc300,hoping this resolved it,been 2 oil changes since with 6 quarts and 7500 miles intervals.6 quarts are right at perfect medium on dipstick,I attribute the problem to overfilling(factory spec),hopefully this info helps someone else in avoiding $2000 repair of this pcv system
Also looks like 2020 glc300 changed the spec to 6.3 quarts.I will be sticking to 6 quarts, also noticed much quieter and smooth er engine operation with less amount and switching to liqui moly leichtlauf high tech 5w40 229.5 mb approval 👍

Well done vid very clear…curious do u know does it matter if it’s spec 229.3 or 229.5 thanks?
Check your owners manual for your particular car, it should list acceptable specs if oil 👍
27mm fits the oil cap. Metric
