  • Designed by Horacio Bozzo, with interior by Simon Hamui, Acala is a full custom explorer yacht built by Cantiere delle Marche, world leader in the construction of explorer yachts.
Acala is a unique yacht under many aspects: she takes advantage of CdM’s experience and its approach to explorer yachts building and benefits from the profound experience of her Owner.
Every choice on board Acala is based on both the yard and the Owner knowledge, this is why at 43 metres she offers construction quality, equipment, amenities of a megayacht.
“I am delighted and proud of this milestone project,” Vasco Buonpensiere, CdM’s co-owner and CEO, says. “The trust this Owner confirmed in CdM gives us the highest reason of pride. It is a statement of appreciation for both our yachts and us, as a team always committed to the Owner’s satisfaction. The mutual trust established between this client and CdM team has been pivotal to the good result of the whole process that brought to completion such a complex project.”
“The work on technical specifications has been extremely detailed and it lasted almost 12 months to achieve a double result: to build a 43-metre yacht with the most detailed and comprehensive specs we have ever drawn up and to proceed with no need of major modifications as construction progressed,” Buonpensiere maintains. “In the light of these approach and procedures, within the team we joke around saying that we have built the smallest 80-metre yacht ever built!”

    EXTERIOR DESIGN
“We didn’t know each other before this project yet a great affinity was soon discovered and my relationship with the Client and his family grew stronger as the project of Acala was taking shape,” says Horacio Bozzo. “Our common Latin American culture helped us to understand each other deeply. This is one of the reasons why Acala is so harmonious in all her aspects. The same happened with the interior designer, Simon Hamui, who knew the Client from way back. The entire design, the yacht dimensions and her unconventional layout have been developed together with the Owner. Once we agreed on all aspects very few changes have been made, this is why Acala is so close the original renderings. Use of spaces and volumes to create highly enjoyable living environments has been calculated to the centimeter, square centimeter... cubic centimeter, indeed. Harmony on board Acala is not accidentally as I’ve tried to find the right balance between functionality and beauty of each and all features by combining my scientific approach as a naval architect to the artistic touch of a passionate designer.”
    INTERIOR DESIGN
“The Owner’s vast experience on how yachts operate and how he and his family use live on board was a key and crucial factor to the logical and pragmatic approach to establishing the overall layout and space distribution,” Mexican Interior Designer Simon Hamui says.
“Furthermore, understanding how the family and their guests live as a group when traveling, determined the specific function, style and capacity of all indoor and outdoor spaces. We designed most of the furnishing and added just a few pieces by renowned manufacturers and selected art works to provide Acala with a very personal character, as requested by the owner. Consistency and homogeneity of the interior decoration was one of our requests and the result is what we wanted: the internal environments highlight a neatness and formal rigour perfectly combined with comfort while the choice of subtle colours create a relaxing atmosphere. The general idea was to create a very informal, relaxed and carefree environment without sacrificing sophistication and well-appointed details in order to match the Owner lifestyle.”
