    What a great setup, and some lovely Koi, I love seeing a busy pond, and as you say if the filters are handling it why not!👍🎏

    Great pond walk round, and we get to see the face behind the voice at last... I see a lot of people are looking at following your upward filter system idea. I thought about it myself but limited to room at the moment? Cheers... 😉👍👍

      Hi Andy. Haha... I do try and keep out of the way of the camera if I can! Nobody wants to see my ugly mug! You could fit the filter on the side of your pond like they've done at Quality Nishikigoi with the Tempest. You've got plenty room there.

    Hi just watched your video you have a brilliant little system there.. With a few little ideas that I might poach lol... Your fish are beautiful it makes me wish I hadn't got rid of my fish now... But if I hadn't then I would be where I am now with my pond.. Everything happens for a reason I guess.
    Stay safe

    Impressive set up for sure and the koi look amazing. Unfortunately a pond with that much volume above ground likely wouldn't survive our Canadian winters here in Southern Ontario. Today we have a balmy - 7 C which was wonderful compared to the - 24 C only a couple days ago. At present my pond which is fully in ground and just shy of 20,000 ltrs has approximately 8 " of solid ice on it. I'm lucky however in that I over winter my koi indoors in a 7,000 ltr pond where they'll stay happy and healthy until late spring arrives and ca be moved back outside. If you can think of a way to send over some of your warmer UK weather it would be most appreciated. Looking forward to your next video.

    • @northernkoikeeper512
      @northernkoikeeper512  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that is cold! How do you manage to get a 7,000 ltr pond indoors? That must be impressive. You will have to post up some videos so we can all see it.

    • @mykoiobsession
      @mykoiobsession 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unlike houses in the UK most houses in Canada have full basements and that is where my indoor pond is. It's constructed out of a wooden frame with plywood walls and lined with a 45mil EPDM rubber pond liner. It measures 3 x 2.4 x 1.3 meters deep although the water level is just slightly over 1 meter. It currently houses 11 koi ranging in size from 65 to 45 cm as well as two 91 cm sturgeon. Pond is filtered by two home made mechanical filters and a K1 moving bed filter. Don't have any videos of construction but do have some photos. Could maybe do a short video and add photos.

    Amazing covers you got auto lift great pond mate welldone on a fantastic job mate 👍 👍 👍 koi all looking good got a few in their buddy I thought I had to meny but good filtration is the way to go I've got 28 koi in a 2,000 gallons koi upto 84cm it's not the size of pond it's the filtration and yours is top notch for that pond. Thanks for the walk around getting a few ideas for my pond real fan of your uplift filter. Which in my opinion is far better then the Tempest. I've not got a great ASHP like yours I've only got a poor man's Dream lol 😂 But does the job keep mine at 14c looking at a draco drum to drop into my nexus 300 this year if alls well got a friend on our Discord group who makes, them pond gardes stands and bakki showers if you want to join send me a message will send you the link.

      @northernkoikeeper512  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Barry. A lot of lovely comments there. Like you say filtration is the key to how many fish you keep in a pond. As long as your filtration keeps on top of the Ammonia and Nitrite then that's okay. I will send you a link so that I can join your discord group. Thanks.

    I found that the polycarbonate is insanely expensive especially here in the states, did you pay a fair amount of coin for your poly over there?

    • @northernkoikeeper512
      @northernkoikeeper512  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Fishy. Yes It's very expensive in the UK as well. My 2m x 2m sheet of multi wall 25mm polycarbonate was £140 (approximately $194 USD). 35mm poly was gonna be £240!!!

      Hi Mark. I used these

    • @northernkoikeeper512
      @northernkoikeeper512  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I purchased about the only pulley motor that worked off the mains. Most of them were for cars and worked off a 12v battery. Sorry I don't have a record of it but just google for a mains version. Didn't worry too much about the lifting capacity coz it wasn't that great.
      I used these
