The atmosphere in the routes and cities are amazing. With the monarch vibes and France obviusly. Gives like “look how pokemon has achieved! All the pokemon you remember…in 3D!” With that completes orchestas for even small routes is so perfect. Or i think like this for nostalgia lol. The 7 route hit me so hard. Route 1: A stroll through a lovely tropical city built next to a shiny golden beach. Route 2: Skipping merrily in a sunny meadow in spring to deliver a basket of cakes to your grandmother. Santalune Forest: Scouting through a thick forested zone, tracking an elusive Pokémon. Route 4: An army in dazzling coloured uniforms marching in formation on a country road, muskets on their shoulders. Route 8: Climbing a cliff made of sheer ice, in a blizzard with zero visibility, while it's -50 Celsius, with only your bare hands, and succeeding. Glittering Cave: Following a lead in the seedy, dark alleys of the seediest neighborhood of Lumiose City. Route 15: Struggling through a meter of snow, in a blizzard, to deliver medicine to sick children the next town over. Route 18: The same army as Route 4, holding a victory parade in Lumiose City. Victory Road: Ships-of-the-Line of the Kalos Grand Navy engaging in a bitter naval battle against the Galarian Glorious Armada, cannons roar through the storm! Bicycle: A TV spot by the Kalos Ministry of Tourism, encouraging foreigners to visit Kalos. Surf: A piece played by the orchestra of a ballroom on a fancy cruise ship.
Finally, another one of these long-awaited Route compilations has been completed. These take a lot of work to do, so please feel free to drop a like if you'd like to see this continue on to the next generation. Gen 7 shouldn't be too hard to complete by comparison. X and Y is a big mixed bag for me, but I think I like it overall. Most of the new Pokémon added were great. Klefki received a lot of flack for just being a key-ring, but I loved it. Quilladin might be one of the worst designs ever for a starter, though. People give the gen 8 middle evolutions for the starters grief, but Quilladin takes the cake. Listening to these route themes remind me of the early Santalune Forest where you're hunting for new captures with your mostly useless friends, exploring the Reflection Cave, and the many waterfalls in the second half of the game. The bike theme is great, but most of the time the player is riding their rollerblades instead. I'd say the worst part of this game was the Exp Share ruining the difficulty of every fight (especially the pathetic champion), but at least you could turn it off. If only we knew back then that it would get worse in future generations. The story is also really lackluster considering it just came off of the great Black and White. However, Black 2 and White 2 had a pretty meh story, so maybe I should've expected that.
Anyone else notice how the routes progress in order? Routes 1-7 represent spring. Routes 8-13 represent summer. Routes 14-16 represent autumn. Routes 17-19 represent winter (18 and 19 are just chilly however). Lastly 20-22 back to spring. 👀
