You should play Black/White and Black2/White2. I was 11 years old when Black and White came out in 2011. Beautifully crafted games, especially storywise.

When the Scarlet and Violet DLC comes out and we finally get to climb that mysterious mountain, I want this tune to surprise me when I enter a wild battle. That would leave me speechless.

I loved the music for wild encounter because it always made me think I found something amazing

My second pokemon original game (First one black 2, and many others I had I played on emulators) But the very best at giving nostalgia, I spent a lot of time building competitive Pokemon for PVP funny times

Played Pokémon Y again after a LONG time because I wanted to Shiny hunt Skorupi so yeah, I heard this music A LOT XD I got my Shiny Skorupi after 250 horde encounters if anyone's wondering. Transfered it to my Alpha Sapphire afterwards.
I don't know why but I played Samurai Warriors 5 all the way through and enjoyed the Twilight - Aketchi theme so much that when I went back to XY I found this theme having similar notes to some parts of Twilight and this has been my favorite wild battle theme in the series since.
am I the only one who believes that EVERY pokemon game has good wild battle music? and that possibly all the pokemon games are good? I don't think any game is awful, maybe bdsp but it's not...THAT bad.
if you didn't transfer them then you should've had a very trusted friend who has a 2ds and the game hold on to the pokemon for you so you can atleast make a new save to get them back.
The beginning of 3D and rushed Pokemon games. Edit: I do really like X and Y, it's still pretty good. But I'm saying that the development time was a lot shorter than the older games. Plus there's not much post game in X and Y.
Also; endless hand-holding. No more freedom to roam and explore. Just walk to flag on map > watch cutscene > walk to flag on map > Watch cutscene. Repeat til game is finished.

These games get shit on way too much. Mega Evolutions are the best generational gimmick and gave us a ton of cool new takes on old Pokemon (much more consistently good designs than regional variants), the PSS is easily the best online communication feature, wonder trade is fantastic, they added a new fairy for the first time in 13 years, the new 3D graphics and animation made the world come to life more than any previous game too. "It's too easy" is not a valid complaint. Switch up your team if your Pokemon get overleveled. Pokemon games are only as hard as you make them.
Ah yes, the last “good” mainline Pokemon game. Ever since then, each new generation has become more easy and feeling less like the ones we know from the past. At least Gen 6 has the charm of the GBA and DS games.
