denji goal is to live a normal life, like a normal teen, because he thought it was Impossible, like eat everyday and all that, and thats the point, for other people its trivial, but for him its a dream.
True but the thing is, he already kind of reached that goal. He lives a good life, he can eat and take a bath etc. He still has to kill demons and stuff, but he himself said that his goal, was to touch boobs(?). But yeah I do get ur point here.
True i admit Denji s character could be saved later on but rn he is just meh to me. Would be a lot more likely to enjoy watching him if thé side characters we're good. But they are mediocre to Bad at worst.
@@videodimension69 I think having a regular dude with regular goals learning how to just live is more interesting than having the same hero goals that every anime has.

I am tired of "I wanna be a hero to save the world" kind of tropes. Chainsaw Man gave morbid, cool and funny tropes instead of the same thing in a different setting.

Tldr: As someone who read the manga first and got to binge chapters, I get why you'd feel meh about it. Tbh, it's hard to explain what got me hooked but I definitely think it's one of those slow burns (it didn’t feel that way when reading) and how the manga medium is reallllyy u tilized by Fujimoto.
Personally i liked his "easy" goals something different from the normal i have to be the strongest devil/hero/warrior etc. However i do understand your pov and the video was great keep it up

I read around 90+ chapters from csm manga. Idk if its because I watched shiki before reading it but it wasnt as great as people hyped. I would rate it as 8.5-9/10(good-great but not one of the bests, its basically like 13-14. placement among what I watched)
I think problem was people overhyping too much. It backfired I believe, people expected it to rival best animes because of overhype but its just below best animes imo.
That's most likely what happened to me to a certain degree. Expected Attack on titan level quality
@@videodimension69 i found attack on titan midd tbh the first 2 seasons were masterpieces but everything turned political starting at season 3 and i thought it was better in season 4 and then it was a little better but i still have no idea why tf people are shipping eren and mikasa- THEY GREW UP LIKE SIBLINGS but i thought it would get better when the rumbling started but not rlly i even finished the manga and it was just not in my interest
U got a point csm is mid but this is just the start and it's going to get good
The best thing about denji is his backstory he has and as the story went on I kinda forgot. Aki is my favorite in the series what a tragic and cool character
I think it's like cool at first for him being more like a teenage boy motivation. But after awhile it's like ok anything else
Please read the manga before hating so much bro I was enjoying your videos but this one threw me off I can understand some points but you're comparing the opinions of people who've probably read the read the first part of the manga (97-98 chapters I believe) to a just 2-3 arcs or one season of the whole story. I would love for you to finish the first part atleast and make a video of what you think

Im amazed by the lack of empathy and context of a character in order for you to care or not. Denji is not like any MC where they have his basic need met, are altruistic, do the right thing always and aspires to be the best of the best and all people around them admire/envy them. Denji is a 16 boy who had nothing, and I mean, nothing good out of life. So no wonder his first aspirations are basic need that any other MC in any other anime have already achieve. The whole story of this season develops over 2 moths, so it makes sense that his initials aspirations are this. The character development you seek so much comes later.
Also, 6:35, how do you expected Kobeni to shoot the tires if the gun is empty? notice its empty based on the retracted barrel.
Could be that he could have gotten a lot better later on. Ig that point could be debatable. But still if you are gonna have a character like that work. You need very strong side characters. Wich like i stated in the video arent that great if not straight up bad. ( Himeno being thé biggest example )
And about Kobeni, she shot at thé Car door or window one or two times. Before her gun Ran out. I would know. I saw thé clip like 6 times while editing.
@@videodimension69 all the side characters, and I mean, all of them, get great character development, including Kobeni, who even gets Denji the development you seek for. You can rush that, most MC get a slow development. If you believe is bad, you could say pretty much the same about most MC of watching 12 episodes of their respective animes.
About Kobeni, she tried to shoot to kill, two shots missed and then the gun was empty. I believe if she try the opposite, sure, the van would be hard to drive, but would still have to deal with the blonde with the gun and the snake vs she bare handed.

That's fine but then what's my reason to wait? Why do i have to come back? The world doesnt get explored. And the characters arent Fun to watch *yet*. Like if you Cant give me anything Worth staying for after 4 hours. Then i don't think im that crazy for not liking it
@@videodimension69 yeah, for all the good stuff out of any anime you have to wait. If you judge any long series by their first 12 episodes, you will see the same "problems" you are claiming, its not a fast progression fast character development and not all animes have to have insane world building like HxH or OP, this story is mainly about the characters and a deconstruction of them, that's the anticliche and refreshing thing about this story and the reason people say is near peak fiction.
Anyway, if you cant wait or don't care for season 2, give the manga a chance and give your thoughts on another video :)
@@darkgt91 Well al though i understand you're points. Thé show just didnt give me enough reasons to wanna stay for the characters to actually become good. Maybe my standards are too high. Considering i was expecting a masterpiece that's probably why that happened. I do see entertainment value in it. Just not on a masterpiece level. To give some context my idea of a masterpiece would be anime's like Attack on titan, death note and Vinland saga.
And Well i might give thé manga a shot. Thanks for thé idea
