At my academy, it was based on being rural officers with little to no back up. They rarely taught teamwork. They wanted you to be sent sufficient. You would get smoked for waiting on others

Okay I'm retired law enforcement and I can't do this anymore but back in the day day day I can tell you this physical fitness test is total SH1T... although I had trouble in the Marathon distance coming in at about 4 hours and 15 minutes from 1 mile to 30k I could hand people their asss here... I am not the runners dimension 6ft 4in 200lb, but my best half marathon time was 7 Minutes one second per mile for 13.1 miles my five mile marker was that 6 minutes 45 seconds per mile let's see these recruits do that
