Lmao lifting and skating has nothing to do with any of this. I race 3 hour long motocross races, and showed up to do my PT test and passed push ups and running (13:15 1.5 miles) but failed sit ups. Got a retest 2 weeks after and completed all. The more you lift the harder a run will be, bigger muscles eat more oxygen…
Ohio test. I'm 33, physical test on September 18, and I was doing incline pushups daily for 2 weeks straight 3 times a day. I gotta hit 22 regular pushups before the test and I'm at 12 for my max. I changed my diet to steamed broccoli, baked chicken, and whole grain rice. I did 10 sets of 8 yesterday and did 10 sets of 9 today. I also ran both days. I only eat 2 bananas, and oatmeal for lunch. At least 1 L of water daily. I'll be back for results of my test

I went from 10 to 20 easy by working on my form. The most important thing is form. Look up push-up form on TH-cam it works wonders. Also, Diamond push-ups help a lot as well. This helped me pass my state officer PT test.

The requirements have certainly gotten more laxed over the years. I took this test in 1996 and the 1.5 mile run was required in 12 minutes or less. They didn't do the standing jump, agility run, or the sprint back then. 2500 applicants tried out and over half were cut from the run by itself.

I am a deputy of one of the biggest county in the U.S. I applied LVMP. Due to investigator Olson's of LVMP. I was disqualified from the hiring process. I made it all the way to the end of process before he disqualified me. He made racist comments during the interview process. I put this out there because I used to respect LVMP department. Now I know the good ole boys within the department are part of the problem. I will extend the courtesy when working with warrants for LVMP.

The younger officers are required to do a 1.5 miles in under 9 minutes, 40 push ups, 80 sit ups and 20 chin ups.
Gee is hard to do 20 push ups. I struggle with that. Crunched I think I will do 40. The run I wouldn't be able. I passed the lvpd one, but don't know about police academy.
You are such a liar. I was in the Marines and was in the best shape of my life. I can run 3 miles on a company run and not break a sweat. My best 3 mile timed run was 18 minutes and 20 seconds. That’s 9 minutes and 10 seconds on a 1.5 mile run.
It’s crazy how some states are so much harder than others just to be able to APPLY to the academy. CT requires a minimum 12:38 1.5 mile time just to enter into the academy. Same goes for the other events. More push-ups in a minute. More sit-ups in a minute.
Wow! Here in New Jersey is so strict. Our push ups requires resting in the up position, without sagging, butt pointed in the air, or one arm up/leg up in the air. Some departments require 24 or more, and for NJ State Police by points on how many more you could do. You guys definitely got it easy.

Who designed this archaic test? The military stopped using situps cos theyee a trash exercise that grinds the lower vertebra disks in the spine, they mimic no real life movement. The army literally halved their recruit injury rate when they replaced situps with planks.

CPD has the hardest fitness test. Illinois actually I haven't seen any other state where your required to bench 98% of your body weight Atleast for men.

@@rubasteve That was a year ago of my comment...I am in superb shape today,it took me 5 months to get there,intense training,puked at times,but it was all worth it...I can pass ANY police academy physical test...but to the other people,good luck and peace to you all.

CPD has the hardest fitness test. Illinois actually I haven't seen any other state where your required to bench 98% of your body weight Atleast for men.

Why is it called the Illinois agility run?
I wondered the same thing,I even thought it was a compilation video of different states' fitness.
