This is a lot easier than NJSP and NYSP standards. 7 points on the 1.5 mile run with PAPD will get you 1 out of 7 points with NJSP. 5 points on push-ups with PAPD will get you 1 with NJSP. As for NYSP, it looks like standards are lower for female troopers than for males, but still higher than what PAPD has here, and NYSP has a pass/fail scoring method. State police also don't test sprints, but if you can pass either state police's physical test, you should be able to get a high score on the PAPD sprint with little training, if any.
So in other words whoever is the fastest runner has a better chance of getting hired. Just curious, are you guys hiring police officers or track runners? You say it’s a “fair” hiring process.. but in reality how fair really is it? If someone runs a bit slower than someone else they have a lesser chance of getting hired? That doesn’t sound fair to me. How about picking a run time and if the applicant completes the run in that time, they pass. Your points system is ridiculous.
train if you want to get picked it's not that hard. I maxed out all the points in the physical test by testing myself. I wish they made the test even harder so lazy people would train and not wing it. Good Luck.
@@bbooys103 if you run a mile and a half in 9 minutes, you get the same amount of points as someone who runs it in 13:49? If thats the case thats not terrible
The test results/points are a joke... I run in marathons so running ia my thing.... my 300 m is in 55 seconds at most and 1.5 mile is in 8: 35.... If I can ace the push ups too, it ll be great !
yea like 15-20 mins and plenty of water. Make sure to start running more, it's by far the hardest thing, you'll underestimate it. I took it this summer, everyone dropped like flies in the first 20 seconds of running in the 1.5 mile run.
@@KeyannahXKeyon there's rest time between the different exercises, but for the 1.5 mile run, it's a straight run, the faster you get it done, the more points you get. You don't have to be quick, you just jog and pace yourself.

Are watches allowed during the PPT?
Don't waste any seconds by looking at your watch, bruh
They took out planks?
is it neccessary to get a medical exam?
16 min for 1.5 miles ??? That’s not even cooper standard . I had to complete 1.5 miles in 12:58 for another department .
they do nothing anyway.
Y’all better be running

So if I train just to pass, then get the job I can eat and get fat and not worry about it ever again 🤣
