The 2000s brought us an alien to planet football, Ronaldinho, end of story. However, as someone who was a teen in the 90s it is still the greatest decade for me. I agree with you guys though that the 2000s was the 90s 2.0 and just a follow on from what started in the 90s but in the 2000s things were ramped up. The universally the 90s decade is the "big bang" of the commercialized/uber football world we have today.
It's interesting how the 70's and 80's are now remembered as great eras of great play by great characters. At the time they certainly weren't seen that way! As a kit and teenager my memory was my father and grandfathers generation saying how negative and boring the play was, and lamenting the loss of characters in the game when compared to the 30's and 50's.
Really? I'm born in 1994 and I remember back in late 00s everyone saying that football has changed and is no longer technical and fun as it used to be, and now I see kids on Instagram commenting that the exact same period I'm talking about is the climax of football beauty! Very interesting and tells much about human nature!
Wow. I think I agree. Grew up in the 80s. My team- Spurs had a renaissance them which makes the decade very important to me personally with my first exposure to world cups but tarnished with tragedies But Italia 90 turned me from a fan into an obsessive that decade. Yes, we CRIED with Gazza- and that literally started everything we know now. No Italia 90, no Premier League
For the 2000s you forgot Euro 2000 which in my opinion is the best European Championship ever and the 2002 World Cup which id put as one of the Greatest World Cups ever. They were my first Euros and World Cups.
Just because it is bigger doesn’t necessarily make it more significant - the founding of the game is so important not just to football but to wider society too
What do you think is football's greatest (or most important) decade?
80s or 90s

2010 was golden era broo rising of cr7 and messi rivalry bruh
A very good point!
@@TFHBssorry but how dumb are you ?
That's one of the main reasons why it was so boring.
Blud started wtachinf football from reels😂@@Al-ji4gd
@Al-ji4gd you missed the biggest decade😂😂
Wow. I think I agree.

No Italia 90, no Premier League
Didn't expect 90's to be top, but after watching the video, makes sense.
Still the 1950s for me, birth of modern football. Explosion in popularity of the World Cup, and beginning of the European Cup too.
Bro you guys shouldn’t even put 1860 to 1990 in there because you guys were like 3 years so how would you know if those decades were good
We can provide our opinion from our own knowledge and research - we can’t know for definite but can give a decent understanding
@@TFHBs you definitely don't understand comon sense. 2010's is miles better than even 1960 to be clear.
By that logic, there shouldn't be History teachers at school. They weren't born, why the hell are they talking about that subject?
1995 to 2005 is my favourite time period
You should get a better set up. The framing isn’t very good for viewer retention
Thanks for the input - what do you think would be a better way to frame?
@@TFHBs it’s just how one of you were very close and the other very distant
@Alphoric ahh thanks - we’ve got a relatively small space but will take this on board for when we next film! Thanks again!

2002 World cup is particularly Bad.
Bad takes for 2000 and 2010, but everything else is solid
We must have been fatigued by the time we got to the 21st century 😂
You can't get a worse ranking than that tbh
All a matter of opinion! What would you have?
@@TFHBs everything IS not an opinion, for example it's a fact that you don't have Seen any football played back in 1860.
Btw, football is way bigger in terms of level and World impact now than during XIX' century. It's not even comparable.
Just because it is bigger doesn’t necessarily make it more significant - the founding of the game is so important not just to football but to wider society too
No, but we have extensively researched it for a long time so can make educated assumptions about its merit
