I’m not sure if Ryan was scared after going down in the 2nd, but he certainly realized Davis could capitalize on his weaknesses; the writing was on the wall. And he could not adapt. After the liver shot, I think he realized, one way or another Davis would KO him.
Davis, like all the greats, can adapt to his opponent’s style during the fight. I thought Davis’ ability to win against Cruz despite a damaged hand demonstrated both ability to adapt, heart, and confidence.

Garcia said he thought the fight was getting boring and got anxious.
So basically, he wanted to give the audience a show. So he got careless and started pressing trying to make things happen and he got caught. No excuses, whining or bitching, he admitted his mistakes and is ready to move on. Class act. I respect him.
Maybe what young and or less experienced fighters need to always remember and never ever forget is when they are in the ring, yes, you want to give the spectators a show, but putting on a show for the spectators is not the goal. It is to win. So do what you know you need to do to win (legally). And if that means slowing down your pace, then slow it down. Boring or not, a true fan will continue to be a fan.
The fans watching are just spectators (ones who watch). Don’t let wanting to impress the fans undermine your boxing sense and dictate your moves in the ring. Look at Davis, what did he say? He remained calm and collected, kept at a certain pace. That allows him to think. So, boring or not, At that moment, he doesn’t consider the spectators because he’s not fighting them.
I always noticed how Floyd always did the same thing.
Best wishes and good health to both fighters in the future.
