The main problem for Conor was that he was so used to his trash talk distracting opponents and throwing them off their game, that he didn’t realize that it would have the exact opposite effect on Khabib. Had Conor been a GSP type and told Khabib that he respected him as a man, an opponent, and wished him good luck in their upcoming bout, Khabib would not have trained nearly as hard. Conor literally inspired Khabib to fight for his country, his people, his religion, his family, and himself. In a situation like that with an individual like that, Khabib won that fight before they even stepped into the octagon.

In my opinion the very most impressing thing about Khabib and his legacy is rarely mentioned, if at all…Yes, he was undefeated, and arguably never lost a single round (that alone is a crazy AF) but never, not even once, did we see him bleed. Considering the fighters he fought, especially at the end of this career, it’s even more impressive. It can’t be said about any other fighter, at least anyone else I can think of. Not one single scratch, swelling in the face, no cuts, not a single drop of blood. Truly AMAZING! For any fighter at any level, with 29 professional fights, to not shed even one drop of blood…? Just UNREAL! That’s not talked about enough!

Yes a fair fight, square up. No sneak attacks, no weapons. Just fucking brawl
this match is not fair Khabib should have won in the second round McGregor didn't defend himself, and when a fighter is not able to defend himself the referee has to stop the match, not to mention that McGregor climbs with his feet on the cage and you can't Do
The build up to the fight, the absolute beat down of Conor, the unintentionally hilarious commentary from Cruz, the aftermath of the fight was all just perfection. This will be nearly impossible to replicate or top.
I agree one of the best fights of all time. Connor truly did push Khabjb but it was obvious he didn’t want to stand an fight with Connor but for his own pride he had to. The third and 4th round with a gassed Connor and Khabib stand up fighting was awesome. When Khabib stumbled after a he punched you could tell he was gassed then he went immediately for the take down. If Connor had a better grappling or take down defense this could easily have a stand up fight the entire match. and Herb would have hopefully reset them if they were against the fence standing too long. That would have been connors only hope. Clearly both fighters prepared so much for this fight. Khabib being physically stronger and a better grappler with face and neck pressure and being take down artist won him this day.
He just hugged him for 18 minutes. What a boring fight 😂

UFC 2010s real and videogames are still GOATED man.
Bro it was 5 years ago not 25
Id say UFC's peak was mid 00s to early 10s especially when the Heavyweight Division emerged.
UFC at its peak is when there were no rules. Mid 90s. Tournament style. A fighter might have to fight 3 times in one night. That's when men were men. Dan Severn, Don Frye, Ken Shamrock etc. Call me a boomer, but those dudes went through a whole lot of punishment and made half or even a quarter of that these guys make now with all the rules.
