Can You Beat Fallout New Vegas Without Taking Any Damage? (in text form)
My hunt for the man in a checkered suit is on. After a few weapon mods caught my eye in the General Store, I spoke Sunny Smiles to get my hands on a Varmint Rifle. Then I killed her and her stupid dog with it and bought Silencer and Extended Mags mods from Chet before ending his life. The townsfolk in Goodsprings were very nice to me. To reward them for their generosity, I killed them all and let the Powder Gangers take control. Then I killed the Powder Gangers, too. My next stop was Primm, for no other reason than Johnson Nash being the next closest vendor after Chet’s tragic accident.
I found myself inside the Bison Steve Hotel. The Powder Gangters inside provided me with my first real challenge. It’s kinda like Call of Duty where he who sees first kills first. Their guns are drawn and they’re facing me, giving them a step up in the fight. After several deaths, I was able to walk in and instantly aim at the bad guy’s head, allowing me to kill him and hide behind a corner. Several deaths later, I was on the 2nd floor, where I had even more fun dying over and over again. Good thing I’m persistent.
The Gangters were cleared out, Beagle was rescued, and Primm was in need of a new sheriff. NCR were my first suggestion. But, with my Speech skill laughably low, I had to drag myself to Mojave Outpost to get approval from someone higher up the ranks. Then something strange happened. After I killed Ranger Ghost so I could steal her clothes, one of my dialogue choices with Major Knight was to tell him that I’d helped out around the Outpost. Maybe Ranger Ghost was a total not nice person or something. Regardless, I brought the law back to Primm, and my work there was done.
Next was Nipton. Boxcars, the last standing member of the Powder Gremlins was granted the sweet release of death. Vulpes Inculta also needed to die. Something deep within me said it must be. So that’s what happened. Using my Sneak skill and silenced Varmint Rifle, I eliminated Vulpes and his group of Legion soldiers. I found myself full of items that I didn’t want to drop. Novac seemed like the perfect place to sell them. I took the road southeast of Nipton and killed a whole family of Bighorners along the way for some quick and easy experience. And then I got carried away and got myself in a sticky situation involving a lot of very dangerous ghouls. It took a considerable amount of time and ammo, but I was able to kill enough of them to accomplish my goal. I really wanted to know what was in that shack. The Hunting Shotgun inside was nice, but the real reward was discovering what happened when I took too much radiation damage. Once it crosses into the first Radiation Sickness category, you take damage, which kills the me. Or I tripped over a rock while standing still. I could honestly be either.
Fresh out of that irradiated hellhole, I encountered a few traveling merchants to whom I could sell a few of my wares. That voice came back and I was determined to kill them all in the most beautiful of fashions. Picking them off at a distance would just not do. I put myself between all 4 of them, targeted their skulls in VATS, and fired away.

I think you couldn't use the boat to enter the fort because you didn't receive the mark of Caesar yet. You also received extra health because of the buffout. You're a good strategist, but charisma is not a useless stat when you do low health and endurance runs. Talking your way out of trouble sometimes works.

Helmets aren't considered faction armor.
I think body armor isnt as well unless you wear both head and body armor
Body armor in the vanilla game has faction status if applicable. I know this because I tried NCR armor a few times in Nipton for decent early game armor. also the white glove society mask doesn't count either even tho it is the characteristic attire. I know way too much about this game. @@vagamer522

there are 2 variants, formal wear and white glove society attire. formal wear is neutral but WGS attire is faction armor@@magmamouse7270

Charisma is useless, reaching 100 in speech and barter is easy anyway
Only thing charisma is good for is slightly buffing companions and the terrifying presence perk
Charisma =/= speech
Think getting the first stage of rad poisoning lowers your endurance which reduces max health so you died instantly with 1 hp

Headwear isn't considered faction armour, therefore companions can wear faction helmets. Also if you give any faction armour to ED-E or Rex they will drop it and you'll get a notification saying something like "this companion can't equip this faction's armour."

Edit: 5:58 faction helmets like the Ranger helmet or Recruit helmet do not count as faction armour, only faction body armour cannot be worn by companions.

I am a PERSON it has got a few problems that get on my tits, but I can put with them for the moment, if they don’t get fixed I am the type of person to stop playing it and go back to fallout 4, but still really enjoying it though. More than what i thought.

Faction helmets are not considered as faction armor by the game and doesnt give you "You are dressed as a member of ... faction" messege, only body armor does. It is made so because if you were to not create a comflict if you wear an ncr body armor and legion helmet.

Few answers and corrections to mittens
1. after ghost dies you can say you've done work around the place because she is the most important quest giver in the location and it didn't want to lock out the NCR option
2. you cant go to the fort until benny is dead or ran
3. Helmets and head pieces don't have factions tied to them
I know this is all in good fun, it just irritates me if he doesn't find this out
Instead of calling it "Can you beat Fallout: New Vegas Without attacking anything or taking damage", why not just make it something like Can you beat Fallout: New Vegas as a 1HP pacifist?

What's the point if you are not starting from the beginning after death?
I believe you have to get Caesar's blessing from Vulpes (or Cato if Vulpes is dead) before you can take the barge to the Fort.

The helmets from factions don't have any faction tag, so anyone can wear them. So boone can wear a legion helmet, just like higher level NCR do.
You should do a part 2 but if you take damage you have to restart the game from the save that u get as soon as you walk out of doc mitchells

5:20 It wont let you go to the fort before you deal with Benny. Since all crimes you commit against the legion are forgiven you can still side with them but if you have already killed Caesar you can't progress the story with the legion.

This is kinda stupid. Basically every time you get hit you just restart to your latest save. So duh, you can beat the game without taking any damage, because you just restart. I don't even need to watch the video to know that. How is this even a question?

I know its a bit late but after seeing this video so many times just made me realize something. If you just back tracked a little bit and picked up a turbo you could have gotten away from Oliver.
Faction based helmets don’t count as faction armor, so technically companions can wear things like legion or NCR headgear, they just can’t wear things like NCR Ranger armor or Legion Centurion armor

I just was playing Skyrim earlier and Skojr (that one guy who dies) was still alive, even though I already finished the companion questline.
Boone could wear that helmet because the only headpiece that's faction armour is the white glove masks. "Legion" helmets and "Brotherhood" power helmets and NCR Ranger helmets and whatever don't count as faction armour
You can't go to the fort until you've been invited there by the legion (after you go to the Tops).
Also, helmets aren't faction armor. I think with only one exception (White Glvoes), the faction armor tag is relegated only to the body armor parts of the outfits.
I guess the answer would always be yes, unless you never re loaded and had to start over and lost patience enough to even try anymore, or if there was a part of the game where you contextually have to take damage, thus being game breaking with a mod that brings your health to one percent. but anyway i enjoy these videos. anything new vegas related is the shit
In my game, companions drop all faction armour that isn't their faction. (example, Veronica will wear Brotherhood power armour, but drop any Legion or NCR gear i give her. She wont even just carry it.) Still, ironic that out of all the faction armour, Boone would put on a Legion helmet.

btw you couldn't use the raft to Caesar because it's locked until you get the Mark of Caesar from the Strip (or at least get to that part of the game)
This video taught me that the silenced Varmint rifle is the most overpowered weapon in the game
You actually could’ve beaten it if you sided with House, you give that notice to Oliver telling them the NCR has to leave New Vegas, but overall great video Paul!
