Did the head mod and set my gains as you advised. Wow what a difference. My violent tail wag is gone and the heli is very stable. Thanks for the video!
another Informative video WestHobbiesRC - Thankyou. Out of the Box i had No Head vib, than after some flights the Vib started, so I flipped the Heli Upside down and applied Thin superglue into the Head. That worked for another number of flights then the Vib came back, so I followed your advice and Installed Heat Shrink Tube - the best option! Thanks again WestHobbiesRC.
Man, thank you for the PID numbers! I bought two of these and they both wagged the tail violently in IU2. these numbers were a HUGE improvement! doesn't sound nearly as "witchy" now either!! thanks again.
Thank you SO much for the tail settings. Mine flew nice, but had a terrible tail wag. Changed to your settings and it is stable as can be! So much more fun to fly! No more tail wag in all 3 modes.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Most of my flights had a terrible tail wag. Switched to your settings which are a HUGE change from stock settings and the Heli flies totally differently.
if anyone doesn't have that sized heat shrink, I simply stretched a layer of a ziplock sandwich bag over the mainshaft as if I were poking a hole in it but didn't go quite that far. then installed head and trimmed excess off under the block. done that to two infusions and having great luck! now my question: any idea of cross referencing a servo horn for the infusion? the BLH# for the 3 pack is backordered till Jan. I got a number off a blog for a link set for a 180cfx, but these are to small in diameter. I love the infusion, and I love that the servos dont strip and fail in a crash, but they should have the replacement sacrificial parts in large supply..I figure you may know what other mini servo arms may work?? Thanks man!! Keep up the vids!!
Thank you! Yeah I tried tightening as well but the problem is when you tighten more you kind of egg shell clamp the block so it’s never going to help. That little bit of heat shrink makes all the difference in the world and you will notice how incredibly different the helicopter flies!
0:30 10months later of this video, I bought crashed on first flight didn’t even took off properly it was too unstable I decreased throttle it came crashing down. broke rotter head, blade and back servo arm.
I think I might need that mod too! Just bought a second hand 180 that seems to have the same problem. Thanks for this, I wouldn't even know it if it wasn't for this video :)
Thanks was able to achieve forward flight today with out it trying to roll on its self . Just getting back into helicopters.. Was about to sell it... Thank you!
Thanks for the video, I will look at my head could be where the vibration is coming from.. I have thought about putting a M2 head on mine but need some extra balls for the swash they are different sizes.
You’re welcome, you will see a big difference in flight performance if your head has some play when you out the heat shrink on. Yeah the M2 head has a different ball lay out
Thank you for your awesome videos. I am new to helicopters and I was curious if I put stability on all three modes Will it self level but still allow me to roll and go inverted without the bank limits in normal mode? I would like to be able to do so but still have self-level working in the stunt mode 1? Thank you 😊 I just got mine two days ago and they seem to have fixed the head wiggle as it is nice and tight!
Good morning. it flies very well except for one rather annoying thing, when it turns to the left, it drifts backwards at the same time and therefore loses the habit, this happens every time I steer to the left. If I steer to the right, no problem, the helicopter remains parallel to the ground, perfect for me. I did a calibration but it didn't change anything, maybe it could come with the advanced program but I don't know where to adjust yes a channel is incorrectly adjusted? I have activated stabilized mode. My radio and the Spectrum DX6e. Thanks in advance.
Thanks! I started really going through the helicopter after realizing gain adjustment wasn’t doing anything and the vibration got worse with head speed. Yes you could, really anything to fill the gap. You just want to tighten that thousands of an inch spacing.
I hve a DX7, older radio, and just bought this heli 180/. Can I program that P-Mix on the I Bind button? And nowhere in my radio do I see model adjust... I can't take it anymore I'm bought to smash the thing.. how do I adjust Gain.. can't adjust what I can't see...
If it is a GEN 2 radio, you will have to do it with the stick programming. Look in the manual and it will explain how to hold the sticks to get into forward programming and then you will have to look at the numbers screen. It’s not as easy as it is with the IX/NX series
Troy wood, without forward programming it’s hard to do this. go into your servo reversing and reverse your gear channel. Then go to your servo travel and set your gear to 60% down and 60% up. This will properly set your flight mode switch to the flight modes in the controller. It will give you stability in normal mode and proper gains in normal 1 and 2
