    I just bought the eighty-four. Same issue right from the start. Fan starts, stops, reverses, slows down, all on its own. The light works except for the dimming feature does not respond well. I tried a few of the fixes that I read here and on another site. And it still does not seem to work. It seems like a lot of other people have had similar issues and I don’t want to hang on to this and hope it’ll work better. I took it back and bought a Kensgrove from Home Depot. I highly recommend going with this or one of the other more reputable brands. I have installed dozens of fans and have a good amount of experience with this.

    Just installed two more (four total) - only issue I’ve had (consistently) is the stupid remotes - either they or the receiver just suck.

    Is the receiver and remote are ok, the problem is due to a faulty rectifier, a common fault in several electronic devices using a DC motor, including mower. A rectifier is a device that converts an oscillating two-directional alternating current (AC) into a single-directional direct current (DC).

    Had the same issue. Start stop jerking. Same fan. Found a loose wire at the other end of the pole mount where it secures to the top of the motor housing. Mine was the yellow wire. It was loose from the crimp connector from the factory. You have the connection you make up at the control module and the electrical box and then there is another splice from the factory at the other end of the pole mount before it goes into the housing. I had to remove 3 screws and take the top cap off. Re terminate the connection and been working fine ever since.

      This totally worked. Thank you so much. You saved me from returning the fan. The problem was the yellow wire in the quick release bundle. Thank you so much, I was getting so angry at the fan doing whatever it wanted. I re seated the yellow pin and it works like a champ. 👍🏻

    After buying new receiver and remote the fan still did not work. Fanimation decided to send me a new one at no cost. I have 6 others and only one has given me problems which was resolved with a new receiver that was also purchased for $55. What do I do with the non working fan? Something so new and pretty going in the trash. Fanimation should have a recycling program for all these non-working fan. These companies are part of the environmental issues that has become out of control.

    Called the factory cause mine was doing the same. Open the battery door on the remote to access the four dip switches, put two up and two down. Power down fan (wall switch or breaker) after a minute power back up, then hold the reset button for a full 15 seconds (light will flash twice then twice again) release the reset button after all of that. Your fan is now on a different frequency, and the problem should be resolved. Another thing that causes strange behavior is the battery in the remote was installed backwards, so check that too.

    • @shannongrogan3378
      @shannongrogan3378  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I called customer service and they attempted to work with me to fix the problem. They thought it was the motor switch so they sent me one for only a shipping cost. They didn't work so that then determined that my motor was ceased up. I didn't realize that was possible on a newly installed fan, but we had no other explanation for the behavior. I thought I had an unlucky pick, so decided to try the same model with a 1 year warranty. It's acted up a couple of time when I reversed the fans direction. I just circulate counter clockwise to prevent issues.

    I just purchased, installed and had the exact same issue. After troubleshooting everything I check the all the wires connecting the motor. I then realized that copper wires are very brittle and will break inside the twist if put on to tight. Also you have to use the correct size wire twist for proper connect. 4hrs later fan now works perfectly. Hope this may help.

    Okay .... my 72' Fanimation Slinger V2 won't even power on nor the (LED) lights, this is after installing the complete unit & trying to go thru the different Dip Switch Configuration settings & it STILL didn't work; Therefore, took apart the top plate of the motor & removed the 9-pin (power-source) plug to allow me to determine that the (input) plug was in fact, receiving 120Vac w/my (Fluke) voltage meter - from which it was; Therefore, I put everything back together & cleared the remote memory, removed the batter, powered off fan & turn the fan back on - hold the "SET" button for (approx.) 3-5/sec., (w/in the 60-sec. time allotment - after powering up the fan) & STILL nothing !! Ugggg :( /// Called the manufacture & talked w/one of the Fanimation technicians' & he wasn't able to tell me anymore then what I just explain to you all (as above). His suggestion was to return it back to the box store (Lowe's) due to he felt it was a bad receiver (which by the way are now part of the motor assembly inside) & purchase a 2nd., one & try again, from which I did w/the SAME results !! Ugggg :( ... So time-consuming w/no results after installing & removing/boxing it back up & taking it back down to Lowe's just to pick-up the 2nd. one w/the SAME results !! Now What ?? :-(

I called fanimation to tell them about the problem and the person that helped with the case was very nice and apologetic. He is sending another controller unit to me free of charge. I was expecting the run-around game but that didn't happen, I was surprised. All he asked was the fan's model number and the date code of the remote control. So in this case they seem to be well aware of the issue and trying to make it right to the customer. I just don't know how they will handle a situation where the customer is unable to do their own repairs for whatever reason and having to hire someone to bring the fan down, do the part replacement and hang it back up. That will cost money.
