Honestly I think the Venu SQ is a direct competition and budget friendly option to the FitBit Versa line and having had both I think the Venu SQ hands down is the better watch. You can get the Venu SQ without music for only $199. Hard to beat that price with all the Garmin features! Garmin needed a line in this price range.
I have had a Garmin forerunner 15 for years never let me down. I decided to update my watch your video was excellent I just needed to know the basics not a 30-minute discussion of its finer points. I will watch more comprehensive videos once I have used the watch for a few days. Thank you for taking the time to do this video.
Great review. I just upgraded from a Fitbit to the Vivoactive 4s. Love the display of the Venu but I have small wrists and was worried it would to big of a watch. Love the Vivoactive had a small option! I have really been loving the Garmin app and I am very happy I went with a Garmin
I have the venu sq no music version , and have also with leather band , it looks very good with leather band , I have also fitbit versa 2 and charge 4. The Garmin venue sq is definitely better than the fitbit versa 2 ( don’t know about the 3 and sense ) , the charge 4 has gps and is very good , I think the charge is the best of Fitbit, but Garmin I can use my polar h10 band for much better heartrate.
Hi! I have read somewhere that the venu has some firmware problems. Did you experience anything wrong with the watch? I am looking for a watch for myswlf, and I will get a garminm but I am torn which one... venu, venu sq( 50$ less) or the vivoactive 3 (new, for 100$!). Any suggestions? regards
Oh man...thats a whole separate review. If you work out a lot I'd recommend Garmin. Samsung rocks as well, but their watches have many more smart features, making them more cluttered than a Garmin. For fitness...Garmin wins hands down

Hi Sammy! I’m currently deciding between these two. My deciding factor is the screen size. On paper, the SQ is larger but it looks so small compared to the Venu. How has your experience been with these two screens? I want a screen that I can transition a little more comfortably since I’m coming from an AW5 and a Sense. Your input would be SUPER appreciated 👍
The SQ will definitely feel lighter and smaller. Depending on the size of your wrist of course... If you don't need AMOLED, check out the Garmin Vivo 4S
I've never owned a Garmin. I'm generally an Apple person, but I'm drawn to the Garmin. Do you know if iMessage notifications show up? Also, I've read the Venu has ECG but nobody is talking about this feature. Any experience?

(Such as Fenix 6, FR 945, FR745) 3) Bad HR performance for interval type of workouts, Apple has far better OHR. For steady state cardio type workouts and general resting HR is good however.
Hi, I am new to your channel and thanks for your videos. I am on a similar journey as you, searching for the best smart/health watch for my needs. I’ve got more serious into fitness over the past two years, specifically cycling. I currently use an Apple Watch series 4 however I am finding very few cyclists use the Apple Watch. It seems the cycling community almost exclusively uses Garmin products. Cycling & running are my main sports. I use an iPhone for my job so Apple Watch was a a good fit. What is you opinion of the Apple Watch? Garmin is good?
Truthfully, I know Apple watches are solid but I'm 100% an android guy...zero Apple products whatsoever. And yes, Garmin is fantastic. The best all-round is the Vivoactive 4, or Venu if you like AMOLED. But for cycling id lean Vivoactive 4. You can also check out the running watches and Fenix series for more premium materials.
I am an Apple guy all round. I have an iPhone, an iPad and a MacBook. However, I would still go for a Garmin any day. They just have much better battery life and fitness features.

Great video! Thank you for all this great information! I am considering getting the SQ for my wife but I really wish it had rhe ambled display. For me thats rhe real dealbreaker. She doesn't like the round watches too much. Im a huge garmin fan so I was really hoping to find one that she likes! But I only connect my watxh to my ohoen when I need to, and keep everything off unless I need rhem because I value battery life over smart features.
I'm interested to know - have you found it to be an issue when you are running to have the image on your watch reappear? The only thing I'm hesitant about it the fact the display disappears. Not a huge problem, unless it doesn't want to pop back up when I need to look at my stats.
I really want to buy the venu, I love the anoled display and I live in Sweden where it is always cold and dark so I do not really need the transflective display. Many reviewers have said that garmin watches are very accurate and I have the money for it. But I am a fucking woman with a small wrist and I think the venu will look to big on me, and bulky, and just be heavy. I do not know what to do. My husband just purchased the Garmin Venu Sq and I'm not loving it at all. I'm coming from an Active 2 watch. This Garmin Sq feels cheap, the display isn't good, and I hate the loud vibration. I brought a better Chinese smartwatch one day I thought I can smell something burning I went to the place I was charging my smartwatch the power lead was about to melt. I contacted them to buy a new power cable I could not find one on their site. I never heard from them again. Both watches had a couple of bugs in the software that were never fixed. Nope. afib is only available on wearables that have ECG built in
Yes, as the other person commented. Apple, Samsung and the Fitbit sense speak of that feature.
Yeah, no afib or heart rhythm without the ECG.
