- In this episode, you can tell we are having too much fun installing Rockwool Insulation. Stick around to the end for the bonus clip where a new King of Post is born. Also, don't take another mans hammer even if you bought it for them!

This is feeling less like construction and more like a couple of art school dropouts living the dream. 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah. Highschool dropouts who make a decent income while enjoying each other's company. I've watch quite a few tree cutting shows lately, too, where the workers, often communicating through mics and headsets, enjoy a bit of banter while one is on the ground and the other is 150' or 180 in the air. One of those guys was killed by a heavy falling branch recently and one of his friends wept at his passing. I seriously doubt that will happen at my passing. I only had one job like that and friends like that too. I wish I'd never left it. I miss those guys and days very much.
Art school dropouts how the hell you come up with 😅
@@jameslatimer3600 So you been eyeing guilty of treeson :D
Obviously you never went to art/music school. I went to one and cameraderie was limited by such “unique” artists always trying to outshine each other.
Greg's definitely a carpenter... He "nailed" that intro!!!!
19:07 “… it’s not that hard” BWHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Greg was killin it this episode!!!
Never thought I’d ever watch multiple half hour videos of someone insulating a building… but here I am 😅
King Greg, the post framer with the golden hammer...😂😂😂
This episode was worth it just for that ending!
Top tip. When making a temporary outfeed table for your saw from a sheet of plywood, keep a sheet around that's been faced with Formica. Slides way easier!
truly cracked me up the ending w Greg the superior being
Greg...NAILED IT! You need a raise my man. Kyle, that man is CARRYING you. You know it, we know it. Give that man a raise.
EXCELLENT work Greg, I know it's not your comfort zone, and you nailed it!
"Just remember, I offered to go down there"...and you would NEVER EVER let him forget it if he said OK. LOL...
Man, there is just something about relaxing and watching these videos on a nice Saturday morning after a long productive week of work!
Greg is looking more and more like kyle every day lol
Absolutely loved the witty banter between the two of you and the shots at those who chose to criticize. Remember haters gonna hate, so you do you!
That was awesome! I enjoyed seeing the comedy that goes along with the craftsmanship of this build. Great job guys.
I have not even watched the video and KNOW that talented builders are just having some fun, making money, and helping others realize what their dream could be. You folks rock.
I love watching you both. It's informative and funny. Those insulations you put is so thick perhaps about 7-8 inches. It will be warm in winter and cool in summer. I hope you can finish the entire construction of the building down to the interior and finishing.
This playlist has replaced my regularly scheduled television programs XD
The more insulation you guys put up, the better sound quality.
I don’t know why, but I really like watching you guys do this insulation 😂
That rockwool is awesome.
Having all the light in the upstairs and not seeing a huge cloud of fiberglass floating around is so great
Greg has THE CUTEST, most adorable mischievous smile 19:08 😂😂😂
20:58 this is what shared guilt looks like lmao
Loving the banter on video.
Love the fact that you're putting all that 1.5" insulation in before the thick stuff. That's exactly me. I need it to be neat like this as well. Although it probably would have been easier to put all that insulation in behind the floor joist before building the floor.
you two are getting better at dapping each other up
When cutting insulation board, try tilting your table saw blade a little. That way you get a tight fit without the struggle.
Kyle & Greg are a laugh a minute literally, oh and they’re really great builders also. Way to make construction fun.👍
20.56....... So Bill and Ted 🤣. Nailed it. That rock wool is so versatile and easy to use. I'm converting a timber framed building in the UK and insulating with Rockwool. You just cannot do such a good job with PIR insulation. Impressive build.
You guys have the best chemistry working together lol
The bonus clip was the best yet!!
I was lucky to get my floor poured and cut this week, now it's time to clean everything as I have concrete dust on everything!
You guys are hilarious.
Banter like siblings. Thank you
I’ve never used the compfortbat for thermal insulation but it makes great sound insulation and very good bass traps to kill those bass nodes in media rooms and such. I also know much it costs and this garage has a bunch of money in insulation in it. A whole bunch. But it will be warm in the winter.
My Scandinavian eye likes what it sees. It's beautiful work. I actually also like how seriously you started and take it on this channel to get isolated properly. it will be interesting to see if you also insulate the floor separations and how much you insulate the ceiling.
Where I live, the building regulations require that we insulate with approx. 1 foot of insulation in the attic.....
Greg! Dude, nice hosting!
With that much rockwool I would use the festool insulation saw especially with dust extraction.
Great job Kyle, Greg, and Mark! It is very gratifying watching you all work, even if something as trivial as installing rockwool insulation, which should be the equivalent of watching paint dry or grass grow but you guys make looking easy and somehow interesting. Beautiful workmanship, as has come to be expected. Good Work!
The knife skills are AMAZING! Love the "bro" shake too. Great video!
This is my favorite series/show in the world!
Use a sawtooth trowel to cut your foam out. Nice and clean and quick.
The insulation cutting table is slick. I imagine that it is not cheap but with amount of cutting needed and the size of your project it made things quicker and more precise.
Greg's solo at the start 👌
I found this YT channel 3 years ago when I built my shed. I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching you guys.... even when I don't have a building project. I enjoy the detail you put into your work.
I was surprised to see you didn't you run the Comfort Board in the 4-5" gap at the top of the wall.
That's for sure. There's nothing like watching a professional who cares about his/her work.
Haters, only hate because they haven’t got the tools. Great job as always guys. 👍👍🏴🏴
Would be nice to see this in thermal when it is cold outside and hot inside.
You can check already now for weak areas before wrapping it all in
Using a special cutting table for every piece is good for video. Doesn't get the job done faster though.
Try any of that with fiberglass and you’ll end up with a mess. Rockwool is awesome! I love how you can get a perfect fit with every piece and feel totally confident that you don’t have any voids as well as not have to worry about any little varmints running around inside your walls.
" It's the long strokes Greg that really get you " , and Greg laughs , hahaha . Too much .
This rock wool is the best.A lot easier to work with than batt insulation. It stays in place and there’s no fiberglass flying everywhere and into your lungs.Great job guys, thx for the videos 👍💪
Makes me want to send a wrecking ball thru my 1972 starter home lol. Great work
I really appreciate you guys. Work is work, but you two are a great fit and make it more enjoyable.
I am loving this Comfort Board and batt series. Looking forward to more content on insulation.
I stuffed Roxul for 8 years in slab edge. 30% compression was required in boxed in fascia panels. Such a pain.
King of post did it for me. Now I can sleep in peace till the dawn.
Finally I can make a comment that makes sense. I used spray foam on th bottom of my tool shed and then to remove the overflow, I used a multi tool to trim the overflow off. One horizontal and one fertile slice and it was neat as a pin.
All of your ongoing attention to detail will pay off, like when you use an infrared camera to see heat patterns inside (saving heating & cooling costs). It’s also great watching two builder dudes who get along so well. #MutualRespect
Nicely done. It would (and hope) great to see these guys work on rural builds in California.
I thoroughly enjoyed that guys. Thanks.
Your interaction with each other is entertaining and it's informative at the same time. Keep up what you are doing. I can watch you for hours. I'm building my shop home soon and will use some of your ideas for sure.
I like how you are using everything. Hardly no waste.
fun to watch! Greg’s knife skills amazed us both
Watching someone insulate a barn is about as boring as it sounds. But you're back and forth banter makes for some pretty interesting and hilarious episodes. Keep it up! 😂
Loved this episode, so much laughs
Entertainment and great build. You guys are awesome! Way to go Greg with the intro! #gregforpresident
Thats some serious work & money on the rockwool mate 👍🇬🇧
Glad I watched all the way to the end. 😅😅
Keeping things interesting and friction to a minimal. Building a cotton candy mountain out of rocks takes a lot of everything.
Great video guys, love the quality of craftsmanship, the explanation of what and why, the commentary and banter. It all adds up to a really enjoyable video watching experience. I’ve been following this build series from the beginning and envy doesn’t even come close to describing what I come away feeling after each video about this project. Many thanks for bringing us along this build journey!
One of the best episodes on this series ...😂😂
Great attitude to each other.
Keep up the good work guys!!!
This channel is awesome 💪💪
The first task I ever had as an apprentice was installing rock wall bats between timbers for 4 weeks it nearly made me quit, and defiantly made me question dropping out of school 😂 I know they call it comfort board, let me tell you it’s anything but comfortable installing it
The comments on instagram are BRUTAL. Don’t listen to the haters, the work you guys do is top notch!
Kyle, Greg, keep up the good work - learn much here - seldom laugh .... but... @ 23:37 "OK, you do that one over there then." 🤣
The ending was creative. I loved the video. You guys continue to rock. I'm entering my six year as a enthusiastic subscriber and fan.
Awesome ending...
Amazing insulation installation. Great content love watching you guys. Have fun while you’re doing it. Thanks.
Damn, got tired just watching these videos of you guys installing this stuff. Takes forever.
"IT TAKES FOR AGES" as my 7yo son says
Another great video! Still wish you were closer, you would be my first pick to do my build!
Quality Sells Itself
All Day Long!
Very Impressive!
You should be able to Heat
it with a Coleman Lantern!
👍🏼
Great intro with Greg only, Thank you man.
Kyle rocking the badger tools belt these days
After using this insulation It made me realize I would never use any other brand of insulation again. It should be mandatory in all U. S builds. If they need to build more plants to supply it fine. You can hear the sound level going down as you insulate with this. Air infiltration is almost non existent if you fit it in like Kyle has done. As always , great job.
I'm looking forward to the air tests. This building should be easy to heat/cool. The running gag on the haters is spot on. (;
great video. like seeing greg by himself mic'ed up.
Thats gonna be a seriously quiet building too. You could have an entire Tank Division roll up on you and you’d never hear it.
The only group I've known to free hand straight and square are form carpenters, it seems to be an inate skill required for form work. All others should use straight edges and squares. Nice work with rockwool, bldg should/will be efficient for HVAC. Ray Stormont
Man, finally get to see greg intro
It's coming out beautiful!
I love you guys!!! You are a great team! Loved this episode…… made me laugh.
I wish I could hire you both down in Alabama to build us a Barndominium.
Hear me out… table saw on the lift at insulation stack height, Kyle on the yellow scaffolding, slide the insulation from stack to “cut station/lift” and it’ll fall to the floor behind it where Greg will flex and finish cut and stack into new piles of cut and uncut. Lower the cut station/lift as the insulation stack gets shorter. You don’t have to move the full sheets. You could even put a saw horse where Greg is in this scenario and the sheets might snap at the cut when they hit the horse. Then Greg just sorts. 🤔🤔🤔
“If you never ask the answers always no” sage advice right there 😂
That’s was so cool the king of post
You do a great Greg impersonation. 😃
Love these details. Keep em coming!!!
lol funny outro to, looking forward for the air test is going to be tied.
And the Oscar goes to The King of Post.
Maybe you have done too much insulation, but I wanted to see some entertainment this afternoon--and you provided it. Never wasted; always good. Get to see the progress, learn a new technique and laugh.
Yo Kyle, my new move on spray foam is my multi-tool/do-hickey with a metal-wood blade blade. makes quick work and shaping easy for the excess.
Loved to see your wife's face when you say laying Rockwall is like birthing a baby.🤣
That ending was amazing 😂
Loved the ending!
The difference in the sound after installing insulation
When this is all done it will be great! Go get Matt Risinger do the final inspection! 😅
Guys Greg is Kyle’s son that actually likes construction 😂😂😂😂😂‼️ this father and son series is amazing haha just joking I love the series though guys new subscriber and new fan of the channel
