I must admit, I had not heard of Olga Scheps before. I’ve watched many performances of this Beethoven Concerto, and was not expecting such immediately heard perfection from Olga. Not only is she note perfect, she has a deep sense of musicality that makes all the difference in the world. She knew this piece inside and out and played it very artistically, almost shockingly well. The orchestra also played magnificently.

I don't know much about music, but I can feel so intimately how Olga played. She elicited such deep emotional feelings in me wrt me & my late wife, whom I had been so honoured to love her, then her decline in health & I personally made it a point to look after most times, as she was suffering from AD. Then she suddenly passed away. The nearing last part of this concerto reminded me of this episode of her forth coming life ending. In conclusion I found that she seemed to have the joy of living a new life as a butterfly happily flying among the flowering plants.
Thank you Olga for your amazing art of piano playing.❤

From Ms. Scheps' first entrance I knew this would be special. In performances of this piece I always hope for a powerful, assertive opening statement, like a fist banging on the table saying "listen up!" It's surprising how many pianists miss this opportunity and play it in a more Mozartean fashion. This is the Beethoven Third played as it should be.

And hats down to the Filharmonie Bohuslava Martinů with Robert Kruzik conducting at the beautiful Zlín concert hall in the Czech Republic. Everything well coordinated, traditional dress code of all the performers (no useless face masks and 2-m social distancing), and professional multiview video / audio recording by the Czech TV. Just great! This more classical than romantic piano concert of Beethoven needs a fast grip on the piano keys and Olga succeeds in this, but in the second movement she loosens her grip in the most wonderful way to make room for the more romantic Beethoven. Just wonderful, Olga!

Olga plays the first movement with a certain grandeur, almost heroic sometimes, that differs from other interpretations. And I think she is doing the right thing! This third piano consert sounds suddenly new and fresh to me. And in the second movement she changes to a wonderful poetic and slow approach that also is somewhat of her personal feeling of this, I believe. The third movement is the most "normal" interpretation, still worth appreciation. As a whole a quite wonderful and deeply understood interpretation of this consert. Warm thanks!

@@staffanolofsson8201 Are there any objective way of describing what you are saying? It may all be true but it sounds like BS. Grandeur, heroic, romantic, poetic doesn't really convey any true meaning since all of these terms can be understood differently by different people and even differently by the same people depending on their mood.

I can imagine Beethoven composing this and thinking... "I will compose a work that no one can play, except myself!"
But seriously, I can not comprehend how a mere human can not only retain the knowledge of every note in this work, but the touchweight of each and every key. The ability has to be described as "divinely inspired".

Beautiful playing, Olga! I specially like the tempo in the Largo at 19:08. This low tempo makes the poetic aspects of this music more obvious.
