2:00 to 1:11 is nuts! I've gone from 2:05 to 1:38 in the last year, but now I'm pretty much stuck.

While the improvement of "Nick" was impressive, there were lots of gains to be had simply with improved stroke mechanics. Suppose you have a swimmer that can push a 100 scy in practice in about a minute, can do 5x(100/1:20 scy) holding 1:10, has a pretty solid stroke, and swims 5/week nearly year-round. That describes a lot of pretty average age-group and masters swimmers. In fact, I'd guess that is pretty much the average swimmer that a typical coach sees. Getting that swimmer faster in 30 days is a very difficult challenge.

You're actually describing some of the top swimmers in the world, which is for sure a challenge! The "average swimmer" that swims for fitness isn't someone like that - they may not be a Masters swimmer, they may swim 3x a week because that's all that works for their schedule, or they may be just starting swimming while getting into triathlons...those swimmers count too! From stroke mechanics and structured workouts to mental training and on-demand feedback...there's a lot that goes into coaching, and I'm excited to give guidance to swimmers that are looking for that :)

Hey guys, I have really really horrible anxiety and depression that manifests itself physically, making it really hard for me to maintain weight. Is swimming still ok for me to do? I don’t wanna compete or train just, floating and breast strokes. Is that ok on less calories than usual?

Hey, sorry you're going through that. Swimming is definitely ok for you to do - it releases endorphins and is beneficial for you mentally and physically. If the pool is your happy place, I encourage you to keep swimming!
