I rescued an abandoned '67 F600 from a pasture that is now a subdivision. She is a wonderful personal experience of a beautiful mechanical beast. I have worked on and owned a lot of "old school" trucks but it is true that they certainly do not make trucks like this anymore. It is an adventure to work on "Mildred" and it is an adventure finding parts but she is a tough survivor. No rust and nearly all original. She is an unusual experience to drive and a source of pride that I cannot find with any other truck. You have never driven a truck until you grab the big over sized steering wheel with no power assist while using a few muscles that you never knew you had, going down a back road at 50 miles an hour wide open. This is why you stared turning wrenches when you were a kid just so you could experience these moments when you finally get to be an "old knuckle buster". My wife still makes great cornbread but Mildred is my sweetheart on the side.

I love it, what a great story!! Thank you for sharing. Would love to see “Midred”
Keep her on the road , we need trucks like that to survive. Everything their building and selling now is awful. No character.

Fireball shooting out of the carb is a good indication the rotor is 180 deg out...

I don’t know if that’s the case, but I spoke with him afterwards and he said the truck was out of gas. The fuel gauge was stuck at full. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s just a simple two high and low gear for the speed he way over complicated the shifting on that… I’ve got the same setup in a 64 Ford f600 all original 52k original miles and it’s the 352 fe v8 motor the 391 fe was put in the 4x4 version

That is not how you use a split axle transmissibility.

My Dad had a 62 F-600. But it had a 292y block 4spd no 2spd rear. Learn how to drive a manual transmission on that beast.

Funny....the narrator talks like he knows nothing about these things. Sounds like it's gonna start...lol...when it's just cranking and nothing is firing...lol. Very nice work, of course....and great trucks.
