I love how only this expansion had more content than the entire sims 4 series and its expansions.

I don't know about quality-wise. The food stalls are useless to me as a builder. Where should I place them without me using a mod or me paying to man those stalls? Majority of the items in The Sims 4 are decor objects. Most items have little to no interaction or are only fun for the first few minutes. I honestly, don't think The Sims 4 items don't have quality, especially if you compare it to The Sims 2 (and 3) items.
this was by far the most fun sims 3 ep in my opinon. So much fun stuff to do, not to mention that I'm still shocked they gave us the scuba diving aspect with sharks and mermaids. It really makes me realize how crazy, diverse and endlessly fun the sims 3 was. I could play it for hours without getting bored. I play the sims 4 for an hour and I get bored. Such a downgrade :/
Agreed BUT it was SO glitchy. It became unplayable quickly for me due to glitches, which was too bad because i LOVED this expansion
the reason why the Sims 3 was glitchy is because they wouldn't up the system requirements, so they had a decision to make with the Sims 4. Either up the system requirements or scrap half the game. You can see what they chose. it's such a disappointment because the technology today could really handle an open world Sims game, but EA really gave us the finger.
I still play the sims 3 because the sims 4 was full of loading screens as far as i remember without the map view like in TS3

I finally made the switch to sims 3. I have every single expansion and pack for 4, yet I get bored in an hour. I thought 3 would be the same and I was just reminiscing on the nostalgia. Once I got past the graphics, I realized how insanely better it is than 4. It may not be as pretty but I can play it for hours and hours
I already own all of these packs but I watch these reviews because they are funny as hell

One of the households in Isla Paradiso is bugged. Getting rid of them fixes the lot. Can't remember which household it was off the top of my head though.
oh i ran into 1 that has bugs the medina family house had a weird bug with kitchen floor, the Medina family is where this guy is divorced from his wife and he has custody of little girl and they live in a house that has a pool underneath it
I figured out which household was buggy becaude of the Nraas mod (i think thats what its called.) its the one that catches errors in the game.

You literally cannot compare the Island Living gameplay to Island Paradise.. the differance between what we got compared to what we get in sims 4 is staggering

While I agree, I have to say that at least Island Living is not even half as buggy as Island Paradise, it's sad that this expansion pack is great but almost impossible to play. I love Isla Paradiso, tho. I'm only sad it's not working as it should.

This expansion pack is absolutely gorgeous. My favorite expansion pack by far. It's insanely stunning and immersive. Cannot recommend it more.

Concept: Sims team created Sims 4 and all following additions to lower our expectations so when Sims 5 comes out we don't complain.

there's a couple of things sims 4 did better than sims 3(duh they should have done everything better instead of just a couple)
but sims 3 did so many thing better than sims 4, the only problem with it was that the game was badly optimized and that was only because it was a massive game.

I combined this with the Supernatural expansion and made a ghost sim that died while diving and I'm trying to max his diving skill. Anybody find that ironic?
The freezing happens because of all the badly built houses and households in the town, they have routing issues and sims that live there get stuck and it freezes your game.
All you have to do is go to edit town and delete the houses of the following households;
Icatcha, Scott, Los Amigos, Medina. If it still lags, delete the following as well,: The romantic, the Prince.
You can move the sims who lived there somewhere else or just delete them if you don’t care, but make sure their houses/households are deleted

sims 3 might be buggy, laggy and crash a lot, but it still offers so much more content in each dlc than sims 4 and I gotta apreciate that
Just imagine if they would've upped the gameplay requirements. Would be the perfect game. Sims 4 has it's good sides WITH mods, but sims 3 wins overall with all the gameplay we get for our money

Okaaaay I went back and watched this review again after getting bored with TS4 island living and realised I've never tried building or running a resort in sims 3 b4 lol...
Island living is nothing compared to this. I haven't got this lack yet but I going to as it fairly cheap now.
Yeah, I really wanted island living for TS4 until I was reminded by watching this that Island Paradise has MUCH more to offer! The only things I wish it had are CAS mermaid creation and maybe dolphins, but that's it. Don't get me wrong, I do love TS4, but its packs just don't fill me with the same degree of sheer excitement and bliss I experienced when a new TS3 pack was announced.
Some idiot Well, there's a lot I enjoy in TS4. There are things that streamline the game process, like the search bar which can be handy. Also, it does tend to run better on my PC. I'm also, I guess, a minority in that I like the visual asthetic. There are also some things we have in TS4 that I have fun with, like the improved vampires, the get to work pack, etc.
Still, with all there is to love, the packs just don't seem as expansive as TS3. Maybe it's more I've gotten older and interests have shifted, I don't quite know. Still, I got on TS3 for the first time in AGES last night and it was wonderful!
I think you can create a mermaid in cas in the ts3
dani sofia hmmm... I think you can only edit mermaids in CAS once your sim becomes one. It would have been nice if they'd added them fully to CAS like most other supernaturals like ghosts, genies, etc who aren't even from the supernatural pack.

Agreed. The Sims 3 had technical issues, some aesteic issues, and not all simmers could play it but look at the new ideas here. The Sims 4 has cool ideas but I can't help but feel frustrated with it.
I remember being so excited to play with this pack. Little did I know it was going to be the thing that made Sims 3 unplayable. I’ve reinstalled all my Sims 3 games on my new laptop.. all but Island Paradise. No way am I risking it just to live on the ocean.
I'm quite late but I am reading that many people have or had problems with this expansion & it's performance.
You have to delete the Scott family, since it causes many bugs. The nraas traffic mods also helps when you disable all the ubers / boat ubers which aren't actually used. Also disabling one or all ice cream trucks / food trucks helps alot :) & of course turning on vsync in your nvidia settings for sims 3 helps in general
Or have a lease a medium range gaming PC or laptop

I have a nice gaming computer and it was a pain in the ass to play, the lag was similar to living in that Late Night City.

My computer cost about 2000€. It's a laptop and it's obviously not made for gaming. It runs Isla Paradiso and Bridgeport fine.

Hi, there is a fixed for this. but i also think that adding RAM. will fixed the game or reduce some lag. but I could be wrong. at least LGR is playing it without much lag. I also notice pets expansion will cause lag in this map. but the latest updates allows you to temporary disable any expansions you don't wanna used. and it seems that it's working for my crappy pc.

All the information you seek is listed on the page of the games sold. But in case you missed it: no, they're for PC, and no, they're digital downloads for the Origin service.

I don't do mods, but these may work:
Delete the Scott family, and then do testingcheatsenabled true, then do resetsim *. If this does not work, then you can try DiscoverAllUnchartedIslands

The codes from my store are sent via email and activate online, so there is no disc of any kind required. In the case of The Sims 3 games, the code is activated through Origin, so you'll need that installed to play. This is described on the store pages for each game.
Watching this after watching the more recent Island Living review and it is appalling how much more content this has in comparison. All this expansion really needed was more time in the oven to iron out bugs and lag causes. Luckily modders have done just that. TS3 was truly the peak.

The time traveler for the future pack thing. the Lama from university and death.... The crew did not last long we ran out of cash and food and all starved. well death lived.

This is my favorite expansion pack by far. You can be a mermaid, own a houseboat, run a resort, go scuba diving, and so much more. Nothing can beat Island Paradise... Hands down.

This is why I love The Sims 4, the closed world is really helping the game. I do have some FrameRate stutters here and there but for the most part the game runs really well.
I bought sims 4 recently and I have to say I am really enjoing it. I have GTW and I love how interactive it is with the careers, but it's a pain because sometimes it takes my sim ages before she'll actually move and do a task. It is a great game though, I didn't want to buy it originally but I'm so glad I did now.
I had noticed that. I enjoyed the expansion pack to begin with, but it took so long for things to load. It was fun trying to build up my own hotel to start with, but it was so slow to load everything that it was just unbearable.

If you have a problem with getting Isla Paradiso to work for you, there's a fix I found. It worked for me, but it may not for you. It's worth a shot though.
Got to the world editor after you start a new game on Isla Paradiso, then:
-Remove Ictacha family and lot
-Remove Scott family and lot
-Remove Medina family and lot
-Remove Los Amigos family and lot
-Remove The Prince family and lot
-Remove The Romantic family and lot
-Remove Hobart's Hideaway lot
I would not recommend putting these families back into the world, though you can. Only the Ictacha worked for me when I put them in a different lot. I'm not sure what exactly the problem is with these lots and families, but they're broken.
the only thing i don't like about this expansion pack is that at times it it lags and freezes up some here and there

Mines quite different, i got used to the lag and mini freezes that i don't even notice it anymore, thats one way of "fixing" this problem that never got solved.

I love Pets (especially if you want horses) and Ambitions is really nice for non-Rabbit-hole jobs. Island Paradise is great for that tropical feel. Seasons and University are also very nice (and Uni adds additional trait slots.) Personally I love Supernatural, but it's least on the realism scale. Showtime pairs nicely with Late Night, IMHO, and the professions are unique. Btw, most of these can be bought with the Base game in the various Plus packages. Note: Origin has sales often, if you wait.

A new thing added to sims 3 is you can buy additional lots, so if you want your sims to vacation there buy the island/lot. I am getting this expansion for Christmas so I am very excited!!
You people scared me when you said the map lagged and froze a lot but for me... Not at all glad I got it (I have no mods) all expansions

Generations is good, but it doesn't come with a new town and it only does a few additions for kids.

I don't even play sims, and I still enjoy these reviews. Honest and funny.
I don't know how much of this "Island Paradise is laggy" is personal experience and how much is gathered from general opinion. Island Paradise, even though it has routing issues, runs great if you have Nraas Overwatch & ErrorTrap installed. I used to play it all the time on my old laptop (it was bought in 2010 at a rather cheap price at that time so no great performance there) along with LN, Seasons, Pets, WA and Gen. I even had script-modifying-mods that altered the behavior of everyone, not only my household; and lots of CC. Still could have open school in the world, all kinds of businesses & store content and play for multiple generations. All you need to do is to keep a close watch on your game folders, clean them up once in a while and enjoy the gameplay. Moreover, a version with those issues fixed can be found at MTS, although I never used it.

I'm late to the party.....I have had the EP for years, but never knew about all it can do. Thanks, now I can feel like I have a new game.
