- Just casually entering into my full blown f*ck it girl era, and full sending this TH-cam thing (career?, situation?, creative endeavor? WHAT DO YOU CALL IT?!)
Yes, I’m pursuing TH-cam at 35 years old. It feels like a natural, creative next step for me. And we’re gonna have some fun here.

I started my channel in early 2020 (I was in my late 30's then) and had no clue what I was doing (still learning...). Had a whole different topic and focus back then, which was mental health, but I think I found my niche with my art. Now I'm 41, single mom of 4 kids, healing from a narcissistic marriage I walked out of and am really serious about TH-cam. So...hugs to you and let's make this work!!
Hi again! I can definitely relate to this. I haven’t talked about it publicly, but I also divorced a raging narcissist who was also a business partner. It’s a whole story that may or may not ever be spoken about in detail. The reality of who this person actually is might shock people, given the powerful manipulation involved.
However, I’m now happily remarried to a wonderful person, and life has drastically improved since severing ties with my toxic and narcissistic ex.
I am wishing you so much healing and peace. ❤️🩹 Cheers to new beginnings, putting ourselves out there, and going for it! I’m rooting for you big time.
@@GinnyStLawrence it’s not an easy and quick recovery, thanks for your love, support and understanding. I purposefully am not talking about it on my channel as there’s still a court case pending and I want to be careful what I say so it won’t be twisted, pulled out of complete context and used against me. The other major thing is my kids…he is still their father and I’m pretty sure they’ll all be watching my videos eventually and I want to be careful how I address things. And some things are just to remain private and a family matter.

Ah I've been searching for a channel like yours! I need art community and discussions and encouragement, idk talking things 😂❤ I watch people paint sometimes as inspiration and technique help and stuff but when I'm wanting to listen to a podcast or something, I want to digest art content in an audio way,and that's not really a thing from what I found. I see a couple accounts but it seems few and far between. Long story longer I'm happy you're here

Also want to add I completely love any creative thing you want to post, I believe how we LIVE as creatives IS ART, so whatever you want to post I am so excited for it. I too have multiple creative forms of expression, some I'm not good at but I love doing and that's the point! I agree youtube is so helpful and I personally have found the communities to be better than other platforms, I don't have a channel of course but I definitely take part in comments and am an active participant in the communities here I'm apart of. So I will do what I can to convince the algorithm we want to see all the stuff 😂 another personal thought but SCREW putting us in boxes to fit an algorithm, why limit ourselves just to be sellable or palatable to a computer so others see us but only at half strength? Nope not here for that. Just found your account today and this is only the 3rd video I've seen and I can full heartedly say that you impacted this creative with your insightful words and I am so thankful I found your page!

Ginny, I'm so glad your videos have started to show up in my feed, and this one really hit home for me. There are other things I want to do and share, I just had a really hard time pulling the pin and doing it. It may be time to pivot, still making art, but also sharing some more of what I would like to do. Thanks so much for making these videos, I think you're great! Keep it up!

Hi there, I probably started my channel in my late 40s. I agree with you about TH-cam, there is so much you can learn from it. It took me a while to pluck up the currage to do my first TH-cam video.. but now.. Here I am and enjoying it. I love your attitude towards art.

I also love TH-cam & Substack is my other fav :) Instagram as junk food yes absolutely - the digital minimalism conversation talks about junk food vs whole grain. I agree completely that TH-cam is more nourishing (although I can also get drawn into shorts sometimes yikes!). I’m interested in many of the ideas you have for posting here. Keep going!

Aaaand there’s something in the transition to become a parent that pushes you to enter new territory in all areas of your life. I’ve got a 3 year old and I’m also 35 - I’m still learning to step into my Mother energy and it’s not easy but it feels real good ❤

More than happy to share! If folks would find it interesting, I’m happy to go more into TH-cam stuff in future videos. NGL, the growth has been overwhelming in the best way possible. Before I posted my first video a month ago I had 300 subs? It feels real scary, but after you hit publish it goes away. You can do it!
Looking forward to what you create with this channel! Love your content! I feel the same way about instagram, have been on and off so far, even deleted my account for a couple of years. Everybody is telling me it's so important for marketing (I work in illustration and graphic design) but I feel I simply don't want to push myself to live around instagram algorithms and schedules to get at least some kind of exposure.

Can you not focus on age~ism. Why does your age have anything to do with starting a TH-cam channel?
I didn’t think this would be considered age-ism but it’s interesting you see it from that perspective. The question, “Why does age have anything do to with starting a TH-cam channel?” is exactly the point I’m trying to prove or the inspiration I’m hoping to bestow by sharing my age…maybe that didn’t come across as intended. @@GinnyStLawrence I'm glad you shared your age. As someone who's also 35, it's inspiring to see someone say this is what I'm doing at this age. It doesn't matter what age we are, it shouldn't stop us from expressing ourselves. It's not age-ism. There's a lot of content made by younger people which is also great but it sometimes makes me feel like it's "too late". Seeing different age groups being represented and sharing their journey is beautiful and I'm glad for the diversity. Thank you for sharing your art and journey.
I turn 34 tomorrow and was needing the kick to just do it.
From this standpoint when it feels like many established here are younger, stating your age drives the point home
