We love this series! Most of us boomers recall the political and cultural issues of the period….what a beautiful and well written series….a true jewel in entertainment!

One of the best series to give television a much needed breath of fresh air. It brought history, multi cultural offerings, extraordinary acting, talented writers and a total team of professionals. Together as a total ensemble, they take pride in their craft and their powerful contribution to the entertainment industry.

I fell in love with Hillerman's stories all over again. And Dark Winds and it's actors and technicians did an outstanding job of bringing them to visual realization. Enjoyed every moment of watching. Thank you.

Love this show! My grandfather was Crow Indian. He , my mother and uncle's and aunts all had dark hair. I have had blonde hair I guess because my mother married a German man (my father) I never knew.
Great series. But you really need a Subject Matter Expert on the tactical use of the firearm. Using a flashlight with a gun properly. It’s horrible. Who ever was hired to teach proper search procedures with a firearm needs to be fired. Tactics for room clearing, muzzle awareness is atrocious. Charlie’s Angels crap.
18:45 200 ancestor's??? Over 10,000 Navajo were rounded up and sent on a death march over 300 miles where they were imprisoned in a concentration camp at Bosque Redondo in New Mexico. Not just Navajo, but other tribes like the Apache. Historical inaccuracies like that should've been corrected. Jesus. Talk about downplaying real events in U.S. history.

Somehow I stumbled on to this series. It's some of the best story telling and acting I've ever seen. The marketing people for this show needs to do better at getting the word out. EVERYONE needs to experience this show!

Hope there will be a season 3 it's the only one I anticipated every week. Since I am part Native American it was enriching to learn about the Navajo.

I love this series. Wish there would be more like it. Beautiful landscapes, fantastic actors, many I have known for so many years, the story, the culture and traditions of the Navajo nation, the traditional costumes. ❤

I just watched it here in Australia and absolutely loved it. Great story, great characters played by wonderful actors (especially Zahn McClarnon!), little insights into native American culture, and amazing landscapes as background. I want more!!!
In watching Dark Winds, I feel like I've come "home," and honestly nothing else on TV seems to interest me now! The scripts sound genuine, the action is superb, the actors are the best, even those in the small parts; I mean, how in the world did the casting director or crew find these talented people? The cinematography of the Navajo Nation is stunning. Most impressive is hearing the actors speak the language; the sounds are so difficult; truly a feat! Lastly, Zahn McClarnon as Joe Leaphorn is just wonderful; all eyes are on his every move. Such an unexpected and long-awaited leading man! Depend on me to be watching as long as the series is produced!
I was so happy they made hillermand novels into film and enhanced it with the dine cultural stories.

Season 2 of Dark Winds feels like the show leaped into the territory of Breaking Bad and the Walking Dead. Especially in terms of filmmaking and use of geography to tell the story.
I just saw the first episode yesterday. Already, I am addicted. So good. This is a terrific series. I worked with natives in Alberta, Canada and this seems so accuate. Everyone should watch this. Keep going, this story is so darn wonderful in Dark Winds
Jeri Ryan was fantastic this season ! We need more Rosemary Vines in season 3.

I loved this series and all the fantastic actors. I binged watched it in 2 days and on the 3rd day I started it all over. The story the characters and the Navajo people and land is what kept me focused on this series. I want more and can't wait for season 3. Thank you

I love everything about this series and will rewatch many times while I wait for Season 3. The acting is top notch with native cast members. The location shots are visually powerful. I feel the quality of this show honors the Native People.

my favorite I own Dark wind season 1 and 2 cans wate for season 3 by Judith beach
Dark Winds is overall an interesting & good series. However in episode 4 the bad guy shoots at Leaphorn with a full auto M-16. Semi auto AR-15s were rare in 1969 thee year this season takes place. The military had M-16s in Vietnam but not even cops had them in the US. It’s unlikely any civilian had full auto M-16 especially with a 30-round magazine which was also very rare. I think the producers used this weapon to spread anti-gun propaganda that AR-15s are bad & only used by bad guys. There is no other reason to use it in a series set in 1969. In reality today the vast majority of ARs in civilian hands of good guys who commit no crimes. Shame on AMC for speeding gun control political message through this fictional show.

I'm so jaded about the poitical agenda in movies that in the first episode I was leery of this but I stayed with it only because of Robert Redford's involvement. As the story progresses I found that its impact on me was profundly emotional. This is superb story telling. I am surprised that Mr. Redford's name does not come up in this video. I guess it was more a case of him lending his name to it?
Oh! And another reason I didn't bail early was because of Zahn McLarnan's performance in the second season of Fargo.

Let’s face it the Tony Hillerman was authentic. Special. He never wrote with his ego. As a white man he let go of his entitled self and became a true voice for the native Americans to shine thru.

The only thing I hate is not knowing if there will be a season 3. This was sooooo good.
